Page 2: Lailatul Qadr - The Night of Power

“Indeed, We sent it down in the Night of Power.”

Why ‘We’?

In semitic languages, ‘We’ is used to show power and strength i.e. a king would say ‘We are letting you go.’ or ‘We have decided.’ A show of power, of royalty, of strength.

Is this night blessed because the Quran came down within it, or was it already blessed before this?

“Indeed, We sent it down in the Night of Power.”

“Indeed, We sent it down during a blessed night.”

(Surah 44:3)

By Allah repeating the words “Lailatul

Qadr” again in the 2nd ayat, it shows the

Night’s strong importance.

Then for Allah to repeat the words “Lailatul Qadr” in the 3rd Ayat again, shows how extremely important and majestic this Night is in the sight of Allah.

“And what can make you know what is the Night of Power.”

• Deeds we do in this night is better than the deeds we do in more than 1000 months (83.4 years)

• So if we worshipped in the

Night of Qadr for 50 years, multiplied by 83 = 4170 years of reward.

“The Night of Power is better than a thousand months.”

1 Night = 1000 months

1000 months = 83.4 years

= 30,417 days

= 730,000 hours

= 43,800,000 minutes

= 2,628,000,000 seconds

“The Night of Power is better than a thousand months.”

Ruh is generally believed to be the Angel Jibrael.

The noble Angel Jibraeel, who revealed the Quran to the Prophet, descends every year in our world with other angels to meet and greet the believers who are in worship during that night with peace and greetings.

“The angels and the Spirit descend there in by permission of their Lord for every matter.”

It is called Salaam because the angels are constantly sending peace and blessings upon the believers, they pass by every worshipper and give Salaam and collect their Duas to take them to Allah. This process goes on from the setting of the sun till the break of dawn.

“Peace until the Dawn.”

It has been narrated that during this night the prayers of all are accepted except the following: • The one who has displeased and angered

his parents

• The one who has put off his relationship with kith and kin

• The one who possesses animosity and vengeance of a believer in his heart.

“Peace until the Dawn.”

Night symbolizes the darkness of ignorance after which it is all light, then the entire existence is transformed into the Light of Faith, Knowledge, Blessings and Gnosis

“You illuminate the mosques on the night of Qadr and make it as bright as the day, while your hearts are as dark as the darkest night. Know that illumination of the mosque is not enough. When you light the lamps, remind yourselves that your dark hearts, without inner purification will not become enlightened by the lamps.”

“The 23rd night of the month of Ramadhan is the one when every weighty matter is decided, when trials, tribulations, death and means of sustenance and other matters are determined and so will whatever Allah decrees to take place for the entire next year. Congratulations to anyone who remains awake during it, bowing, prostrating, contemplating upon his sins, weeping on their accounts, for if you do all of this, Inshallah, you will never be disappointed.

Allah will order an angel to call out during each and every day of the month of Ramadhan conveying Allah’s message to them, thus, Good News, O My servants, if I have forgiven your past sins and permitted some of you to intercede on behalf of the rest on Lailatul Qadr except those who break their fast with an intoxicant or those who bear grudge against another Muslim brother.
