the basicsGeorgia hosts Vanderbilt on Thursday

evening in an FSN nationally televised matchup at 7:00 p.m. ET.

The Lady Bulldogs enter the contest look-ing to bounce back from Sunday’s loss at No. 19 Florida. Doing so against Vanderbilt is a daunting task. The Commodores are ranked No. 17 and No. 18 in this week’s editions of the Associated Press and USA Today/ESPN polls, respectively, and Vander-bilt is one of just two remaining undefeated teams in SEC play along with Auburn.

Ashley Houts and Angel Robinson lead Georgia offensively...and in virtually every other statistical category. Houts’ scoring average of 12.2 points per game paces the Lady Bulldogs, and she also tops Georgia’s production in assists (4.6), steals (2.7), free throw percentage (.806) and minutes played (35.9) as well. Robinson boasts a scoring average at 10.8 points per outing, and she leads the team in rebounds (8.5), blocks (2.2) and field goal percentage (.539).

Vanderbilt also sports a pair of double-figure scorers in Christina Wirth (14.7) and Hannah Tuomi (12.6), as well as guards Meredith Marsh and Jessica Mooney, who are chipping in solid averages of 9.2 and 9.1 points, respectively.

series history vs. the doresGeorgia currently owns a 29-20 lead in

its all-time series with Vanderbilt, includ-ing a 14-6 record in Athens.

In the most recent matchup on Feb. 3 last season in Athens, the Commodores utilzied an 27-7 first-half run en route to a 61-54 victory. Christina Wirth led Vanderbilt with a game-high 18 points, while Tasha Humphrey scored 17 points to lead the Lady Bulldogs. Ashley Houts and Jennifer Risper added 13 points apiece for their respective teams.

A complete box score from that outing – as well as game-by-game results in the series – can be found on Page 3 of these Game Notes.

The setback marked the third straight loss for Georgia, just the fifth (of now six) three-game losing skids during Andy Landers’ tenure in Athens.

Last time out...Seniors Marshae Dotson and Sha Brooks

combined to score 35 points and lead No. 19 Florida to a 61-45 victory over Georgia on Jan. 18. The Gators snapped a nine-game losing streak to the Lady Bulldogs dating back to the 2004 SEC Tournament.

Florida scored nearly half its points off of Georgia turnovers, converting 23 giveaway possessions into 30 points.

“It’s the same things we stress every day in practice that we can’t seem to change,” Andy Landers said. “It’s frustrating. They’re simple things. We don’t have a large margin for error, and we keep repeating the same things over and over.”

Porsha Phillips led Georgia with 11 points and Jaleesa Rhoden added 10, all in the second half. Dotson scored 20, Brooks tal-lied 15 and Steffi Sorensen added 12 on a quartet of three-pointers.

After Georgia trailed 27-25 at halftime, Rhoden scored on a driving layup and fol-lowed that with a three-pointer to put the Lady Bulldogs up 30-29.

Florida responded with a 14-2 run – with Brooks and Dotson combining to score eight of those – and gained a 43-32 lead with 11:42 remaining. Georgia pulled within seven points at 43-36 but could get no closer.

Florida benefitted greatly from 15 first-half TOs by the Lady Dogs, scoring 20 of their 27 points as a result of Georgia’s miscues.

“I thought we were fortunate to be where we were at halftime considering the way we threw the ball away,” Landers said.

Doresoneofthreetwo-timersVanderbilt is one of three SEC foes the

Lady Bulldogs will meet on a home-and-home basis during 2008-09.

Florida and Auburn represent Georgia’s other two-timing opponents this season.

In 1997-98, the SEC instituted a some-what unconventional league scheduling mechanism in order to reach the NCAA man-date of a 14-game regular-season confer-ence slate to ensure an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

While the thought of the SEC Tourna-ment champion not receiving a bid to the NCAA Tournament seems like the farthest of fetched concepts, it would have left the door open for the Georgia men to be locked out of “March Madness” last spring even after their miraculous run through SEC Tourney.

Every league team meets once, which ac-counts for 11 SEC games, and three schools are played on an additional occasion – a never-changing “geographic” rival (Georgia vs. Florida) plus one team from the East and West Divisions the league uses in other sports. Those rotate every two seasons.

In a somewhat unlucky draw, Georgia will face three of the SEC’s four ranked squads twice during this season. While they’re cer-tainly only coincidences, those difficult draws seem to have followed the Lady Bulldogs for more than a decade now.

Georgia got to witness more than enough of the league’s premier performers on a regular basis – names such as Chamique Holdsclaw, LaToya Thomas, Seimone Au-gustus, Candace Parker and Sylvia Fowles.

The Lady Dogs also seem to have a knack for drawing other programs during upswings ...Arkansas’ 1998 Final Four team, as well as “Elite Eight” units for Vanderbilt and South Carolina in 2001 and 2002, respectively.

Cancelling the Jelly of the MonthAndy Landers would like nothing more

than to end his team’s propensity to turn the ball over. It’s become the Lady Bulldogs’ ver-sion of the Jelly of the Month Club, as in “the gift that keeps on giving the whole year.”

In Georgia’s six most recent losses, 121 Lady Bulldogs turnovers have result-ed in 114 points on the other end...which equates to 33.2 percent of the opposi-tions total points in those contests.

Board battle going southEntering the SEC opener, Andy Landers

offered this assessment of the Lady Bull-dogs’ season at that point.

“We’ve played very well at times, but we’ve also been very inconsistent in some key areas,” Andy Landers said. “We’re a basketball team that is still very much a work in progress. The thing that concerns us most is that we haven’t rebounded the ball lately like we did in the first eight or nine games. It’s very important that we get that rebound-ing piece back in place quick.”

Georgia owned a massive +12.9 rebound margin through its first eight outings but possesses just a +3.2 edge in their last 10 contests...and that’s largely due to +15 and +29 tallies against UAB and Savannah State, respectively.

Georgia lost the rebound count (45-44) at Ole Miss, falling to 0-4 when that oc-curs. UGA did win the board battle (30-29) over South Carolina and equaled Florida’s rebound count (39-39).

The Lady Dogs now sports a Blutarsky-esque 0.0 rebound margin in SEC play.

Landers collects 800th “W” Andy Landers became just the fifth

NCAA Division I women’s coach to ascend to the 800-win plateau with last Thursday’s victory over Savannah State.

Tennessee’s Pat Summitt was the first to do so, and she was successively joined by Jody Conradt at Texas, C. Vivian Stringer at Rutgers and North Carolina’s Sylvia Hatch-ell, who garnered her 800th all-time victory just five days before Landers.

Landers reached the exclusive “800 Club” in 1052 games coached, the second-fastest progression. Summitt posted 800 wins in 961 contests, while Conradt did so in 1,062, Stringer in 1,064 and Hatchell in 1,074.

Talking about what most consider to be his individual accomplishments will usually bring a relatively strong admonishing from Land-ers. He’s always quick to tell anyone who asks about “his” achievements that “I haven’t scored a single point during my entire coach-ing career.”

While he’s been reluctant to discuss the latest addition to his impressive competitive resume, Landers was pretty much forced to do so after last Sunday’s victory over South Carolina, his 799th win.

“It’s never been, and I don’t want it to ever be, about me,” Landers said to reporters. “It’s about Georgia Basketball. It takes good players and a commitment from a lot of peo-

ple. The terrific work of our administration makes it possible – they support us in a way to compete as well as we can. What makes it a reality is people coming in and playing up to their potential. On the food chain in all of this, I rank fourth behind the players, administration and assistant coaches.”

our take on Landers’ “career”As Andy Landers approached his 800th

career victory, the inevitable question came up several times.

“Hey, the 2008 NCAA Records Book has Andy Landers with a 707-225 record enter-ing this season. What gives?”

In our mind, that total is not quite fully ac-curate. Georgia chooses to politely disagree with the NCAA on what constitutes Landers’ career record as a “collegiate” coach.

Prior to coming to Georgia as the Lady Bulldogs’ first – and still only – full-time head coach, Landers compiled an 82-21 record in four seasons at Roane State Community College, a junior college in Harriman, Tenn.

The NCAA does not recognize Land-ers’ Roane State wins because they were not earned at a four-year institution.

Therefore, the NCAA says Landers’ “ca-reer” record includes only his efforts at Geor-gia. UGA opts to include Landers’ Roane State results – and has since he came to Athens in 1979.

And, with all due respect, its seems odd that the NCAA allows Georgia – and virtually every other women’s basketball program – to count its wins and losses accumulated against junior college competition when the game was in an emerging state during the 1970s but won’t recognize Landers’ efforts in that same time frame.

In fact, 33 of Landers’ victories at Roane – or 40.2 percent to be exact – came against four-year schools. Roane was a 33-1 versus four-year schools during Landers’ tenure.

In a side note, Roane State is the same school that received national headlines for having 73-year-old Ken Mink on its men’s basketball team this season.

another Landers traditionMeredith Mitchell earned her first

career start against Savannah State, becoming the 62nd different freshman to start for Landers at Georgia.

Mitchell replaced Angela Puleo, who did not play so she could rest while managing a stress reaction in her right leg. Mitchell scored a career-high eight points and col-lected five steals, the most by any Lady Bulldog in a game this season.

Typically, Puleo rides a stationary bike to maintain her conditioning during practice and then joins walkthroughs of opponent scout-ing information.

While Puleo has been spared the rigors of the up-and-down action of practice, she’s been logging massive miles without moving an inch. Athletic trainer Shannon Becker estimates that since she began biking on Dec. 31, Puleo has logged the equivalent 232.6 miles.

By the time Georgia travels to Nash-ville to face the Commodores on Feb. 15, Puleo will have easily peddled her way the rough equivalent of 307 miles from Athens to Nashville.

Houts is logging playing time at record pace.Houts has played all 40 minutes in nine

of 18 contests. She leads the SEC in MP at 35.9 and has played all but one minute (at Florida) in three SEC games.

In SEC play during her two previous sea-sons, Houts averaged 37.9 MP in 2006-07 and an eye-popping 39.1 last season. To put that in perspective, of a possible 1245 minutes played in SEC regular-season games during her career, Houts has been on the floor for 1198 of those...all but 47 MP or 96.2 percent of the time.

The odd five minutes are due to an OT game at Kentucky in 2007 – a contest that perhaps best displays Houts’ value. She picked up her fourth foul with 5:34 left in the first half. After sitting the rest of the period, Houts played the entire second half and all of OT without fouling out of the 82-72 victory.

A year ago, Houts broke the Georgia season record for average minutes played as outlined below.

A quartet of the nation’s top girls’ basketball players inked letters of intent with the Georgia Lady Bulldogs on Nov. 12, giving Andy Landers and his staff what is widely regarded as one of the top-5 recruiting classes in the nation. Anne Marie Armstrong, Jasmine Hassell, Jasmine James and Tamika Willis – each ranked among the nation’s top-50 overall prospects by one or more scouting services – will continue their basketball careers in Athens next fall. The class has been ranked No. 3 nationally by both All-Star Girls Basketball Report and The Collegiate Girls Bas-ketball Report, as well as No. 5 by Blue Star and No. 7 by Hoopgurlz. “I’m very pleased with the quality of the class,” Landers said. “I’m sure this class as a whole will be recognized as an outstanding group, but each individual player is outstanding and will have the opportunity to make our team better. This is the sum total of a lot of hard work and diligence on the part of our coaching staff and our assistant coaches should be congratulated.” Armstrong, a 6-3, wing coached by Jan Azar at the Wesleyan School in Norcross, Ga., is the reigning Miss Georgia Basketball and ranked as the nation’s No. 6 prospect at her position by the Collegiate Girls Basketball Report. Hassell, a 6-2, center coached by Bud Brandon at Wilson Central High School in Lebanon, Tenn., was named the 2008 Division I AAA Miss Basketball for Tennessee after leading the Wildcats to their second state title in three years. She is listed as the nation’s No. 6 center by the All-Star Girls Report. James, a 5-9, guard coached by Lynn Whitfield at Barlett High School in Memphis, Tenn., was named the Memphis Commercial Appeal’s Player of the Year as both a sophomore and a junior. She is ranked No. 5 nationally among guard prospects by the All-Star Girls Report. Willis, a 6-2, forward coached by Hilda Hankerson at Atlanta’s Westlake High, is a two time All-State performer in Class AAAA and tabbed as the No. 11 post prospect by the Collegiate Girls Basketball Report.

Basketball’s top-10 career steals leaders at Rutgers.

She then moved into the No. 9 position at Ole Miss and climbed into the No. 8 slot during the Savannah State game. Houts is currently 10 steals shy the No. 7 mark on that ledger as outlined below. FYI, Carla Green (Williams) is now UGA’s Senior Asso-ciate AD and therefore Andy Landers’ boss.

Houts’ current career average of 2.7 steals per game puts her on pace – with the most modest of estimates for games played – to finish with approximately 340 steals...amaz-ingly close of Teresa Edwards’ No. 2 tally.

FOX Sports Net and FOX Sports South will air five games during the season. Match-ups with Florida on Jan. 18, Vanderbilt on Jan. 22 and Auburn on Feb. 22 will be tele-vised nationally on FSN. In addition, FSN South will show the Tennessee game on Feb. 5 and the Kentucky game on Feb. 26.

Three contests will air on the ESPN family of networks. ESPN2 televised the Rutgers matchup and also will air the Feb. 15 game at Vanderbilt. ESPNU produced the Jan. 2 date with Virginia.

In addition to the Ole Miss contest, CSS aired the Ole Miss game on Jan. 8 and also will do home dates against Auburn on Jan. 29 and Florida on March 1.

The Lady Bulldogs annually are one of the nation’s most televised teams. Geor-gia is 132-81 (.620) all-time on TV. Over the past five years, UGA has appeared on TV an average of 16.2 per year.

assistant coach homecomingsThe Jan. 2 Virginia game served as a

homecoming of sorts for two members of the Lady Bulldog coaching staff.

La’Keshia Frett is a native of Hampton, where she was the State of Virginia’s all-time prep scoring leader in girls’ or boys’ basket-ball and was the 1993 National Prep Player of the Year at Phoebus High School.

Kim Hairston hails from Bassett and played collegiately at Richmond.

Georgia is no stranger to the venue. The victory over Clemson on Dec. 22 improved the Lady Bulldogs’ to 5-1 in Duluth.

HomesweethomeAlabamaAlabama natives Jasmine Lee and Mer-

edith Mitchell both enjoyed solid outings at UAB, much to the delight of a vocal following of family and friends at Bartow Arena.

Lee, who is a native of the Birmingham suburb of Bessemer, started and scored nine points. Mitchell, who hails from Midfield, scored the Lady Bulldogs’ final four points.

Holiday bike program doublesThe concourse at Stegeman Coliseum

was converted into an bicycle assembly shop on Dec. 13 as the Lady Bulldogs and friends assembled 55 bikes to be given away to worthy children during the holidays.

In its second year the program more than doubled the number of bikes given away of 20 during its initial effort in 2007.

“Last year, we had several home games during the month of December,” Andy Land-ers said. “With so much down time, our play-ers decided they’d like to do some sort of Christmas service project and this is the idea they came up with. I thought it was a great idea, and I’m very excited that we were able to provide more than twice as many bikes this Christmas.”

Georgia’s players, representatives of Academy Sports & Outdoors and mem-bers of the Lady Bulldogs’ booster club put together the bikes. The majority of them were distributed via Operation Homefront, a non-profit agency which is designed to pro-vide both emergency assistance and morale to military troops, to their families they leave behind when deployed and to wounded soldiers when they return home.

“I remember getting my first bike ever for Christmas,” Angel Robinson said. “I was four, we were living in South Carolina and there was snow and ice on the ground on Christmas morning. My mom told me there was a special surprise on the back porch.

“It was a pink bike with ribbons coming out of the handle bars,” she continued. “I rode that bike non-stop as long as I could, even in the snow and ice. I think it had a flat tire after about two weeks I rode it so much.”

More than a gameThe Georgia versus Rutgers contest on

Dec. 8 was part of the Jimmy V Classic, which benefits the Jimmy V Foundation for cancer research.

Unfortunately like so many other programs throughout the nation, Lady Bulldog Basket-ball has a very close association with cancer. Ann Smith, Andy Landers’ administrative as-sociate for the past nine seasons, is a breast cancer survivor.

Smith was diagnosed in December 2004 during a regular mammogram. Following three surgeries, Smith has been cancer free since March 2005. She takes medicine monthly as a preventative measure and has check-ups every six months.

Sunday’s game at Florida was part of the WBCA’s “Pink Zone” initiative to pro-mote breast cancer awareness. Georgia’s Feb. 8 date with Arkansas also will serve as a “Pink Zone” game.

First-timeFamilyviewingsA pair of paternal grandmothers saw

their granddaughters play in person for the first time ever at Rutgers.

Much of the family of Jaleesa Rhoden’s fa-ther, Tony, still lives in Brooklyn. Included in that group is Olive Campbell, Tony’s mother, who had never seen Jaleesa play live before the Dec. 8 contest.

Angela Puleo’s father, former Major League pitcher Charlie Puleo, is a native Bloomfield, N.J. Angela’s grandmother, Angelina Puleo, and a whole bunch more Puleos attended the Rutgers game.

Sothisiswhattheleague’slike All told, 19 former Lady Bulldogs have

gone on to play in the WNBA. If any current UGA players add their

names to that ledger, they’ll have this sea-son’s experience of seven games in 13 days as a solid point of reference as to the rigors of the pro game.

There were six “off” days during the stretch, but three of those were spent travel-ing to and from Las Vegas for UNLV’s Lady Rebel Round-up and to Rutgers for the Jimmy V date with the Scarlet Knights.

The Lady Bulldogs’ reward for the brutal stretch? UGA’s Final Exams began 36 hours after they returned from New Jersey.

Fond memories of CookevilleAndy Landers knows a great deal about

Georgia’s Dec. 3 opponent, Tennessee Tech. Landers received both his bachelor’s and

master’s degrees from Tennessee Tech in 1974 and 1975, respectively, and served as a graduate assistant coach for the Golden Eagles before moving on to become head coach at Roane State for four seasons and then to Athens in 1979.

“We were on the quarter system,” Landers said of his time at TTU. “It was a great four years...minus those 12 weeks of Finals.”

VivaHoutsVegas! Ashley Houts was named SEC Player

of the Week on Dec. 1 after posting three successive season-high scoring outputs in a span of four days.

For the week, the junior from Trenton, Ga., averaged 19.7 points by connecting on 57.9 percent of her field goals and 90.0 percent of her free throws. She also was named MVP of UNLV’s Lady Rebel Round-up.

Houts connected on 7-of-9 shots en route to 17 points against N.C. Central. She then notched 20 points, including eight in a deci-sive 22-2 first-half run, versus Cal State Ful-lerton. Houts wrapped up the week with 22 points, including 15 in the first half, against Eastern Washington.

The Player of the Week honor was the first of her career, though Houts was tabbed SEC Freshman of the Week four times en route to earning SEC Freshman of Year honors in 2007.

unfamiliar sight out of polls Georgia dropped from No. 23 to outside the top-25 in the USA Today/ESPN coaches poll released on Nov. 24. That represented the first week with-out the Lady Bulldogs included in one or both national poll in nearly six years. Georgia last wasn’t ranked in both polls during the week of Jan. 13, 2003. georgia’s Magic Number: 80

The Lady Bulldogs’ victories over Alabama State, N.C. Central and Cal State Fullerton improved their astronomical record when scoring 80 or more points during Andy Land-ers’ tenure.

Georgia is now 418-7 when the Lady Dogs have put up 80 or more on Landers’ watch, an astronomical success rate of 98.352941 percent.

Puleo explodes at oaklandAngela Puleo scored 18 of Georgia’s

first 26 points against Oakland, amazing-ly equaling her career-best scoring tally in the first 11:52 of the contest.

Puleo eventually finished with 22 points against the Golden Grizzlies, besting her 18 points versus Florida on Feb. 14 last season in Athens.

Puleo finally surpassed that mark in the waning moments against the Golden Griz-zlies. She knocked down a jumper with 1:03 remaining and then hit both ends of a one-and-one chance with 2.4 seconds left.

The performance ended a horrid shooting slump for Puleo, who was a combined 0-for-11 – including 0-for-7 from three-point range – in Georgia’s exhibition game and regular-season opener.

injury ends stroud’s careerRedshirt freshman Nicole Stroud’s col-

legiate career ended before it began. Andy Landers announced on Nov. 11

– four days prior to the season opener – that it was not in Stroud’s “best interest to attempt to play” due to recurring is-sues with an injury to her right knee.

Stroud originally injured her knee just two games into her freshman season at Avon-dale High School. She played the following three seasons there but began experiencing difficulties in Fall of 2007. A microfracture was performed to address those issues. While her rehab proceeded as planned, Stroud had additional problems just prior to the start of the 2008 pre-season camp.

“She rehabbed diligently and we were very disciplined in her comeback plan and she did not start back with us until fall,” Landers said. “But she did start back initially and it was limited. Everything went well for seven or eight days. Then one night in the dorm, it blew up on her and started swelling. We worked for a week to get the swelling out, we tried it again and it did it again.”

Stroud’s departure reduces the Lady Bulldogs’ tally of scholarship players on the roster to nine.

up next:Georgia will face Alabama in Tuscaloosa

on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. ET.

The Lady Bulldogs sport a 27-9 lead in their all-time series with the Crimson Tide, a tally that includes a 9-4 mark in Tuscaloosa. Georgia has posted 14 straight wins over Alabama dating back to the 1998 campaign, which was the freshman season of Coco and Kelly Miller.

Last season in Athens, Tasha Humphrey poured in 25 points, Angel Robinson added a double-double of 12 points and 14 boards and Ashley Houts chipped in 11 points as the Lady Bulldogs secured a 71-53 win.

In the most recent matchup in Tusca-loosa two seasons ago, five Lady Bulldogs notched double-digit scoring performances – including a career-high 19 from Angel Rob-inson and 17 from Christy Marshall in the first start of her career – as Georgia posted a 92-51 victory.

The last time the Georgia’s Lady Bulldogs were not ranked in the Associated Press pre-season women’s basketball poll Jimmy Carter was President and Herschel Walker was wrapping up a freshman campaign that turned him into a national phenomenon. The initial 1980-81 edition of the AP poll was released on Nov. 25, 1980...just months before Ronald Reagan would take up residence on Pennsylvania Avenue and four days before Walker capped the Bulldogs’ undefeated regular-season with 205 rushing yards in a 38-20 victory over Georgia Tech. Georgia went on to defeat Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl to capture the national title. The following fall, Georgia was listed No. 12 at the opening the 1981-82 season, which also represented UGA’s first-ever AP ranking of any kind. Upstart Andy Landers had just begun to make some noise in Athens, leading Georgia to the 1981 WNIT Championship and landing Janet Harris, the top-ranked prep prospect in the country. Since then, Georgia has been a mainstay in the polls. The Lady Bulldogs had been ranked in 27 straight pre-season polls, including 21 times in the top 10 as outlined in the column to the right. When this year’s pre-season poll was announced on Nov. 1, the Lady Bulldogs were in the No. 32 position among the teams receiving votes. Georgia garnered 37 points among the 45 media members who comprise the AP voting register.

◊ Long and athletic freshman who has seen action primarily as Ashley Houts’ back-up at point guard to date.

◊ Has provided a solid defensive presence with five blocks in limited minutes.

◊ Scored the Lady Bulldogs’ final four points at UAB...much to the delight of her vocal band of family and friends behind the Georgia bench.

◊ After not playing in the three non-conference games leading up to SEC play, logged quality minutes at Ole Miss against South Carolina.

◊ Chipped in quite nicely against South Carolina...said Landers afterwards: “Meredith Mitchell did some good things. Defensively, she was very effective, and offensively she played better than you would expect a freshman who hasn’t played that much.”

◊ Became the different 62nd freshman to get the starting nod from Andy Landers when she was on the floor for tip-off versus Savannah State.

◊ Garnered five steals – all in the first half – against Savannah State, the Lady Bulldogs’ individual single-game high for the season.

◊ Utilizes her size, athletic ability and instinctive knack for the ball to be a very effective rebounder, especially on the offensive end.

◊ Scored on an athletic board and stickback against Alabama State...a bucket that seemed to put her at ease and greatly increase her confidence. Said Rhoden: “That game really helped me get my confidence back. Getting in there and getting my feet wet, it felt like I was really back from my injury. For the first time in a long time it just felt right.”

◊ Played in front of family and friends during games against Oakland and Detroit. Her dad (Tony), mom (Jennifer) and older brother (Marlon) made the trek to Rochester for the win over Oakland. Two days later, a busload of about 50 family – including the three aforementioned, her other brother (Justin) and her maternal grandmother – chartered a bus across the border to Detroit.

◊ Olive Campbell, her paternal grandmother who lives in Brooklyn, saw her play for the first time in person at Rutgers.

◊ Stellar in road ACC contests, scorin a career-high 13 points against Georgia Tech and chipping in nine first-half points on a trio of three-pointers at Virginia.

◊ Notched her first career start against South Carolina on Jan. 11.

◊ Poured in a career-high 22 points at Oakland scoring 18 of Georgia’s first 26 points and the Lady Bulldogs’ final four points in the victory.

◊ Equaled her previous career-best output – 18 points against Florida in Athens last season – in just the first 11:52 of the contest. Didn’t score again until knocking down an 18-foot baseline jumper with 1:03 left that gave Georgia the lead for good and hit both ends of a one-and-one with 2.4 seconds remaining to ice the 64-61 victory.

◊ Had been mired in a horrific shooting slump prior to the Oakland outing...was a combined 0-of-11 – including 0-of-7 from three-point range – in Georgia’s exhibition game and season opener.

◊ Junior whose commitment level – and consistency of performance – was up dramatically during pre-season practices...an attribute that caught Andy Landers’ eye and resulted in a heavy heaping praise.

◊ The Lady Bulldogs’ best pull-up jumpshooter – and probably their best penetrator off the dribble.◊ Scored a career-best 18 points against Cal State Fullerton, besting by one the mark she set against

Alabama as a freshman and Georgia Southern as a sophomore.

◊ The first of the three walk-ons to join the Lady Bulldog roster...doing so just in time to make deadlines for the media guide.

◊ A scrappy player on both ends, a trait that resulted in a pair of steals in just five minutes of PT against Alabama State.

◊ Tabbed second-team All-SEC in pre-season voting of league coaches and media.

◊ Missed the vast majority of pre-season practices after suffering a left shoulder subluxation in the third official practice of the fall.

◊ Did not see action in the exhibition game. Returned to practice the week of the opener and saw limited minutes as she regained strength and conditioning.

◊ Scored a career-high 19 points against East Tennessee State in just 23 minutes of action. Her previous high was 18 points on three occasions, most recently against Alabama last season.

◊ Notched her first start of the season against Xavier after getting the nod in 28 of 33 games in 2007-08, including the last 27 contests of that campaign.

◊ With a trio of blocks at Oakland, moved past current assistant coach La’Keshia Frett into the No. 10 spot among the Lady Bulldogs’ career leaders for blocked shots. Then supplanted Kara Braxton in the No. 9 position during a four-swat outing against Tennessee Tech, inched past No. 8 Wanda Holloway during the Georgia Tech game and moved ahead former teammate Tasha Humphrey during the South Carolina win.

◊ Walk-on from the same high school program as Lady Bulldog signee Anne Marie Armstrong.

◊ Played on three Georgia Class AA state championship teams at Wesleyan, including the 2006 squad when Armstrong was a freshman.

◊ Drew loud cheers – and played defense with a Major League smile on her face – after scoring her first bucket of her collegiate career with 3:53 remaining against North Carolina Central.
