The Surfers game was a great game of football betweentwo good sides. It was a great advertisement for the GCPLon a tight contest with a lot of great entertainment for aneutral spectator. Both teams played well and Surfers are avery good team that we have respect for. Looking back atthe game it was disappointing not to come away withsomething but we will continue to move forward.

The Knights game was a good hit out for both teams. It wasgreat to have the atmosphere at the Knights that therewas. The field and the lights were also at another level.Coming away with six points between Reserves and Premswas never going to be easy. I genuinely believe that if theKnights had of finished there chances it could have been adifferent result. I was proud of the way we came back twiceto then come out in the second half and take the controlthat we did.

Overall I think we need to show more disciplines and wecan’t give teams an easy ride each week. Frustration is acurse and we need to eradicate it out of our games if weare to have any success this season. We need to be supercompetitive and have a desire to win each and every gamewe participate in or else we will be punished.

The game went well for us and we dominated from start tofinish. At the end it could have been 10 but its always hardplaying down there. They will only get stronger throughoutthe year. We have gotten off to a great start this year andwe will be asking a lot from our players to perform eachweek. It is my job to keep the players motivated andturning up to play each week. They are all willing to learnand push one another which is the key for us to make thetop four this year.

I was not present at the game but from all reports it wasalways going to be a tough game as we expected. We openedthe scoring early through a great goal from Paul Riley and hadthe bulk of possession. Unfortunately after messing aroundwith the ball at the back we gifted Burleigh a goal back notlong after we scored. An unfortunate goal had them take thelead and they scored their third at the end of the game. Adisappointing result for us but we move on to next week withsome positives out of this one.

Going to Coomera is never easy and with both teams underpressure to pick up first points this season, I don’t think it wasever going to be a classic. Sometimes the result is moreimportant than the performance and that was the case withus winning 3-1. It was a great result, I honestly think bothteams didn’t play as well as they would have liked, withchances created at both ends of the field. We now have ourfirst win and in the top 4 but it is so early. We will look tocontinually build and get points on the board

We said it was going to be a tough game against any side thatAdem coaches. We were fairly comfortable against 10 menand 2-0 up, but with a few injuries late on and down a fewplayers we were happy to hold on. Magic tested us withdifferent things throughout the 90 minutes but we managedto withstand most challenges which I am happy about.

I thought we did well and battled hard for the full 90minutes. Going down a man early in the game was unlucky, rightly or wrongly, but we stuck to our plan. It is difficult toplay the champions from last season with one less man andI thought we deserved to go away from the game withmore than we did. I am proud of the effort from our boysand we will continue moving forward.

Surfers Paradise

David Benigno- Pre-Match Comments

This Friday’s game will be very interesting after seeing howgood Broadbeach are looking. I think they will be hard tobeat. They continue to set the bar for the league and it is acredit to Lee, his club and the squad they keep putting on thepark each year. We will set up for a good derby game atSurfers this weekend and hopefully put on a good game offootball for our footballing fraternity here on the Gold Coast.

Broadbeach

Lee Vernon- Pre-Match Comments

Going into this clash on Friday night against Surfers it will be astrange experience going in as underdogs. We have a fewplayers out due to injuries sustained throughout last week’sgame and Surfers are at full strength. They are playing well atthe moment and we will need to be at the top of our game toget maximum points. We will regroup this week at trainingand see who we can field on Friday night.

Coomera

John Duthie- Pre-Match Comments

It will be crucial for us moving forward to cut silly errors outof our games. We are a young team that is constantlyimproving and we are definitely not hitting the panic buttonyet. We will try and create as many opportunities as we canin this clash. We will try and make it very difficult for a qualityteam. Alex will have his team raring to go after last weeksresult and will be striving to get momentum back. This isgoing to be a really entertaining game and we are lookingforward to be a part of it.

Gold Coast Knights

Alex Morrison- Pre-Match Comments

Going into this clash on Saturday we are very wary of whatCoomera can bring to the table. They have a lot of goodplayers and are always difficult to beat especially at home.We have a lot of respect for the club itself and the way Johnand his team conduct themselves both on and off the pitch. We will try play a good brand of football and we are excitedfor the game.

Burleigh Heads

Keith Garland- Pre-Match Comments

I keep saying we need to stop making basic errors and that isstill my main concern at the moment. We are creatingchances and to score eight goals in the first three games is acredit to our lads for the effort they are putting in.Murwillumbah will certainly want to bounce back after theirhefty defeat against Palm Beach. They have a lot of qualityand we know we will have to perform at our very best to getanything from this game. We will continue to attack teamsand as I said create some good chances. A wounded animal isalways dangerous and we have to be ready for a battle onSaturday.

Murwillumbah

Dean Milosevic- Pre-Match Comments

This weekend we are expecting another tough hit out as it iseach and every week. There is never an easy game againstBurleigh and Garlo is always hard to beat no matter whatteam he is coaching. We will have to found our mojo thisweek and stick to it in order for us to come away with allthree points. We are looking forward to getting back on thepark and hopefully getting back to winning ways.

Palm Beach

Kris Dodd- Pre-Match Comments

Magic are a good footballing side and I think it will be avery entertaining game. We will continue to play our gameand look to create plenty of chances to score. If we don’tgive them to much time on the ball and finish off ourchances early I think we can keep our winning form for theseason especially at home going. We are looking forward tothis match and hopefully we can come away with all threepoints.

Magic United

Adem Poric- Pre-Match Comments

We expect much the same this week when we face PalmBeach. They are in good form now and will welcome backDavid Dodd from his absence in our FFA Cup clash lastweek. He will prove to be a differnet challenge but in termsof our game plan going forward we are right back up tospeed going forward now. Nothing else but a win will dofrom this clash so we are looking forward to hopefullyregistering our first three points of the season.
