TRANSCRIPT
The main goal of the research in this laboratory is to
develop innovative strategies for cancer diagnosis and treat-
ment based on the better understanding of the physiology
and biology of tumor microenvironments and cancer-host
interaction.
Research focus;
1)Cancer Nanomedicine(Matsumura& Yasunaga Labora-
tory)
- Development of the next generation of DDS through
fusion between engineering-based nanomaterials and
biomaterials,such as antibodies.
- Elucidation of cancer induced blood coagulation.
- Proposals of the new concept of cancer stromal targeting
(CAST)therapy.
- Development of a non-invasive,doctor-free cancer screen-
ing test using nanotechnology.
- Application of molecular imaging and bioinformatics.
- Development of lymphocyte-targeted diagnosis and treat-
ment.
2)Cancer biology based on the microenvironment context
(Ochiai& Ishii Laboratory)
- Generation of in vivo and in vitro models mimicking the
cancer microenvironment by using fluorescence imaging
and time-lapse imaging.
- Clarification of the novel biological mechanisms of can-
cer progression and drug sensitivity based on the mi-
croenvironment context.
- Validation of the obtained results by using human sam-
ples.
3)High-resolution genome-wide analyses of cancer genomics
(Tsuchihara Laboratory)
- Defining the mutational landscape of cancer genome by
next generation sequencing to trace the evolution of
individual cancer genomes to adapt tumor microenviron-
ment.
- Exploration of novel biomarkers based on comprehensive
genomic and epigenomic analyses useful to predict the
prognosis of patients and therapeutic effects of anti-
cancer therapies.
