Small Group Reflection
Most Holy Trinity Sunday
Exodus 34:4b–6, 8–9; Daniel 3:52, 53, 54, 55; 2 Corinthians
13:11–13; John 3:16–18
In our first reading from Exodus, Moses has an incredible encounter with God. Moses didn’t want an abstract knowledge of God, but wanted to know the Person of God, to see the face of God, to learn God’s name. God told him, “The LORD, the LORD, a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger and rich in kindness and fidelity.” (the most quoted line of the Pentateuch).
Then in the Gospel of John, we get the famous line about God so loving the world, that he gave his only Son. This highlights two of the key actions of God: first his love, and second, his giving. Through this we learn that love is an action, not a feeling, and that love is expressed in giving.
From all of this we come to realize that God is a loving God who wants to share his goodness with us, so he gives us the Son, who infinitely gives himself back to the Father. This love and mutual self-giving is the Person of the Holy Spirit, for God is love and his deeds are love. God is one God, with Three Persons united in love, and the Holy Spirit is the manifestation of that giving love.
• In the reading from Exodus, we are told that the Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and rich in kindness and fidelity. Share a time that God has been merciful, slow to anger or rich in kindness in your life.
• St. Faustina says that whoever is united to one Person of the Trinity is united to all three. Which Person of the Trinity do you feel the closest to? Which one do you feel the most distant from?
• The church teaches that the love between the Father and the Son is the Person of the Holy Spirit. Did the reflection help you to understand this difficult concept? Can you explain it in your own words?

Best Wishes to Ricardo—
We are sorry to announce that after 15 years of dedicated service to St. Gabriel, our Custodian Ricardo Torres has decided to move on to another opportunity. Although there could not be a public farewell, if you
would like to offer him prayers and good wishes on his next move, feel free to send them to the parish office, and we will be sure to forward them to him.
We are currently working with our cleaning and mainte-nance contractor to complete the many tasks that Ricardo did.

Pro-Life Action League The Pro-Life Action League has found that "abortion providers are worried about teens spending too much time with their parents during lockdown! They're afraid parents are beginning to have more influence than the teachers and counselors that so often help get teens "confidential ser-vices" like abortion." Quote from Eric J. Scheidler. (Pro-Life Action League)
Please talk to your teens about re-specting life. This includes rejecting abortion, dangers many birth control options are to health, relationships, self esteem & more. Text archspm-anointing to 55321 or visit eva.us/archspm-anointing to receive a text each time a COVID-19 Anointing Corps Priest is dispatched to give the Last Rites. Upon receipt of the text, those in this ministry commit to take a moment to pray:
One Our Father for the patient who is in danger of death, as they prepare to meet our Heavenly Father face-to-face;
One Hail Mary for the patient’s family and friends, asking the Blessed Mother, Our Lady of Sorrows, to intercede to comfort them; and
One Glory Be in thanksgiving for the priest and for his protection, as well as the medical team attending to the patient.
For more ways to pray for those affected by COVID-19, visit: archspm.org/covid19prayers.
Prayers and Support for Health Care Workers Health care workers: Catholic faithful throughout the archdiocese are dedicated to praying for you! Visit archspm.org/covid19prayers to submit a prayer request. Also find videos of encouragement and support, helpful links and other resources.

Families Moving Forward (FMF) Update This is the time of the year when FMF asks all the congrega-tions to sign up for the weeks they will host FMF in 2021. Because St. Gabriel is still seeking a new FMF person to
chair that ministry & we will have a new pastor on board July 1, the present team thought it best to not commit to any weeks in 2021 until the new parish leadership team for FMF was in place. Therefore, we have notified FMF that St. Gabriel would not be making any 2021 commitment at this time.
Now to the present time. Because of COVID-19, FMF will not be hosting at con-gregations until at least August 1. St Gabriel was scheduled to host the week of June 21 and, of course, they will not be coming here. Our congregation may be asked to take meals to some hotel location that week but even that is not known at this time.
We are scheduled to be the host congregation the week of October 18, 2020, and as of now that is what we are planning for.
We are all effected by COVID-19 but the homeless are even more, keep them in your prayers. —Deacon Francis

Education
From the Principal - Mrs. Ginger Vance
Thank You— Thank you to the 7th-grade parents who helped to organize things for graduation. Thank you to all of the families and their hard work with distance learning over the last two and one half months. It has been an amazing journey for your family and the teachers as well.
Graduation— We are so amazed by the graduating class and all of their accomplishments over the years! The Mass and graduation ceremony was on Tuesday, June 2. You may watch our Graduation Mass on the St. Gabriel's YouTube page.
A Letter to Parents from Bishop Cozzens— Dear Parents and Families, As we are ending this current school year, I know that there are many questions about next school year. I would like to share with you today a letter from Bishop Andrew Cozzens, Vicar for Catholic Education, and Dr. Jason Slattery, Director of Catholic Education in the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. In this letter, they affirm their commitment to reo-pening Catholic school buildings at the start of the 2020-21 school year. At the recommendation of the Catholic Schools Task Force and in partnership with our Catholic schools, the Archdiocese has begun responsible and prudent planning for a safe return to our Catholic school buildings with safety protocols and ongoing monitoring in place. Please see the letter, available in both English and Spanish, for more information.
Thank you, Sent on behalf of Bishop Andrew Cozzens

The History of St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish
Virginia Vonhof and Chuck Romportl have accepted the task of document-ing the history of St. Gabriel’s Parish. This history isn’t very long yet, as our parish was formed on January 1, 2013, just eight years ago! Now seems to be a good time to start re-cording these things, 1) while they are still fresh in our minds, and 2) since we’re coming to the end of the tenure of our founding pastor, Fr. Liekhus. A short survey can be found online at http://stgabrielhopkins.org/welcome/history-survey. Or contact Chuck Romportl 952-451-3017 and a sur-vey can be sent to you. Copies of the survey can also be picked up at the parish office (call ahead). Thank you in advance for sharing your observa-tions and insights!
