Theme: “LIVE THE ANIMO THROUGH FAITH, SERVICE AND COMMUNION”

Reading:

Matthew 13:10-14

Then the disciples came and said to him, "Why do you speak to them in parables?" And he answered them,

"To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. For to him who has will more be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who has not,

even what he has will be taken away. This is why I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see,

and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.”

Reflection: God can only reveal the secrets of his kingdom to the humble and trusting person who acknowledges their

need for God and for his truth. If we approach God's word with indifference, skepticism, and disbelief, then we, too, may "hear but not understand" and "see but not perceive." If we want to hear and to understand God's

word, we must listen with reverence and faith. Do you believe God's word and do you submit to it with trust

and reverence?

Prayer: "Holy Spirit, be our teacher and guide. Open our ears to hear God's word and open our eyes to understand

God's action in our life. May we realize that our culture of helping and sense of volunteerism should always be rooted in the Gospel imitation of you and of all the Lasallian saints.”

LSGH HISTORY TRIVIA

On April 23, 1964, thirty-six (36) students received their diplomas during the very first Grade School Graduation Ceremonies in La Salle Green Hills. The graduation speaker was President Diosdado Macapagal. We enjoin everyone to use their lsgh.edu.ph email accounts as a regular habit.

What Are Learning Disabilities? The behavioral condition attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is often associated with learning disabilities because people with ADHD also might have a hard time focusing enough to learn and study. Students with ADHD are often easily distracted and have trouble concentrating. They may also be excessively active or have trouble controlling their impulses. What Causes Them? No one's exactly sure what causes learning disabilities. But researchers do have some theories as to why they develop, including:

Genetic influences. Experts have noticed that learning

disabilities tend to run in families and they think that heredity could play a role. However, researchers are still debating whether learning disabilities are, in fact, genetic, or if they show up in families because kids learn and model what their parents do.

Brain development. Some experts think that learning

disabilities can be traced to brain development, both before and after birth. For this reason, problems such as low birth weight, lack of oxygen, or premature birth may have something to do with learning disabilities. Young children who receive head injuries may also be at risk of developing learning disabilities.

Environmental impacts. Infants and young kids are

susceptible to environmental toxins (poisons). For example, you may have heard how lead (which can be found in some old homes in the form of lead paint or lead water pipes) is sometimes thought to contribute to learning disabilities. Poor nutrition early in life also may lead to learning disabilities later in life.
