    LA PETITE PURSE OUTSIDE CONSTRUCTION1. Cut two from fabric (A) purse base pattern2. Cut two from Fabric (B) purse base pattern3. Cut 2 from fabric (C) Top of purse pattern

    TO EMBROIDER TOP PIECE: DO NOT CUT OUTPIECE UNTIL EMBROIDEREDI cut a piece to fit the length of my embroidering hoopOnce I have the hoop in I design what I want the top tosay. I place the pattern in the hoop and trace out the

    image or quote with my machine to see that it fits withinthe pattern.

    Once I have embroidered I take it out of the hoop andline up the pattern to the quote to be sure I am cutting iteven on all sides. A hint is to fold the pattern in half bothways.

    I then measure the center point on the embroidered areand place the center of the pattern on it and open thepattern up. You are ready to cut your pattern. Cutanother one from a non-embroider piece of material orembroider something for the back also and follow thesame steps.

    4. Cut two pieces from stabilizer inch short widthwise than the pattern, I do this so that I can fold overa hem when I place it to the top of the bag to besewn across. Shown in image below.

    5. I iron the seam allowance over the edge of thestabilizer.

    6. Place these two pieces on the top of the front andback pieces of the purse.

    7. Pin in place to hold. Sew a straight stich across thebottom of the top piece all the way across.

    FRONT POCKET:8. Cut (1) 5 x 9 Fabric (B) and (1) from stabilizer.9. With Wrong sides facing and stabilizer all sandwichedtogether sew seam allowance all around leavingopening for turning.

    10.Turn pocket inside out and place on the front of thepurse. Measure up 1 from the bottom and 3 fromeach edge. Pin and sew in place.

    ASSEMBLE THE OUTSIDE:11.Place you first layer being the stabilizer, then wrongside facing your stabilizer the back of the purse. Next willbe the right side of the front of the purse. Last anotherpiece of stabilizer.

    12.Sew a seam allowance around the edges andbottom leaving the top open.

    13.Trim the bottom corners for turning out.14.Turn inside out.

    15.I press the purse at this point with my iron.

    HANDLES:16.Cut (2) from fabric (A) 3 x 6 (place on fold of fabric)17.Fold in half, length wise right sides together.18.Sew a straight stitch along the edge. Turn inside outand add 7/8 in width stabilizer the length of the handle. Iuse a safety pin and feed it through the bottom opening

    to the top. I run a straight stich on both edges of thehandle seam allowances to give the handle morestability.

    19.Connect the handles to the front and back. I measure2 inches in from the side and pin them in place.

    ASSEMBLE INSIDE OF PURSE:20.Cut (2) from Fabric B using base pattern for purse21.Cut (2) or (4) from Fabric A for inside pockets usinginside pocket pattern.22.With wrong sides facing sew top and bottom of insidepockets patterns. Turn inside out and place stabilizer

    inside for durability for the pockets.

    23.Do this twice to create pockets for front and back ofthe inside of the purse.24.Place the pocket on the base fabric 1 up frombottom and 3 in from each edge.

    25.Pin in place and sew a straight stitch on the bottom.26.At this point you can decide how many pockets youwant for each side and the size of them. On the frontpart of the inside. I measured to the center and did a

    double straight stitch to create two pockets. On thebackside I measured 3 from each side and did a doublestraight stitch to create 3 pockets.

    27.I place my sew in label to the side of the inside andplace both right sides together.

    28.Sew seam allowance on the sides and the bottomleaving an opening for turning.29.Once they are sewn together you will know placeyour magnetic snap 1 inches down from the top and 33/4 from each side.

    30.Trim off all thread.31.Place the outside of the bag inside of the lining rightsides together.

    32.Sew the top part with a seam allowance.

    33.Now you will feed the outside part through the insideturning inside out.34.Finish off with a straight stitch along the top ofthe purse.

    35.Now you are ready to embellish your purse withribbon and buttons.

    PATTERN:Your pattern can be easily made by using the followingmeasurements and connection the lines. The top part of thepattern should measure 8 the sides 9 1/2 and the bottom11 inches.

    The inside pockets should measure 9 at the top 5 on thesides and 10 on the bottom.

    HINT: to create my top piece and inside pockets I cutthe pattern twice on my cricut and then decided whatsize I wanted each to be and cut them from thesecond pattern. The dotted lines below shows how Icut it for these patterns.
