Baby Bottle Campaign

Desormeaux Foundation

Through this campaign you can help provide counseling, pregnancy tests, ultrasound exams (with con-sultation), adoptions, parenting and nutrition workshops, assistance with baby items and mothers items, Medicaid applica-tions, Gabriel Angels, chastity programs, post abortion healing and some financial assistance. All services are free for the those who need our services and/or qualify for the maternity home.

Empty Baby Bottles will be distributed after all Mass-es on February 11-12th. The following weekend please return your baby bottles in containers placed at the doors of the church before or after Mass.

Catholic Daughter’s Valentine’s Day Project On Saturday, February 11th and Sunday, February 12th, at all masses, the Catholic Daughters will have a table set up on the plaza in front of church for everyone to sign Valentine's Day cards for the elderly. Cards will be provided. All we need is you and your signature and/or a message of hope and encouragement. These cards will be delivered to area nursing homes in our parish for everyone to feel a little extra loved

this Valentine's Day. We thank you for participating in this annual project.

Vermilion Catholic High School Students Attend Right to Life March

For the past three years, students from Vermilion Catholic have taken a religious and historical pil-grimage to our nation’s capital to participate in the Right to Life March. This year’s group included Father Mi-chael Richard, Principal Mike Guilbeaux, thirty-four students and seventeen parents. The trip included much more than visits to the famous historical sites of Washington DC.

Sabrina Hagan, a VC parent who has traveled with the group twice, states that, “This trip is a time to renew your faith and for some it can be a spiritual awakening. Each place we visited was an opportunity to explore our Catholic faith and the history of our country.”

The group began each day by celebrating Mass in one of several beautiful and historically significant churches. Some of the locations included the Heart of Mary Chapel inside the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Mount St. Mary Seminary, and the Basilica of the National Shrine of the As-sumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which was the first cathedral built in the United States.

During their jam-packed week, the students were able to visit the St. Elizabeth Seton Shrine, the new

St. Pope John Paul II Museum, and the Franciscan Monastery. The Gettysburg Museum and Battlefields, the Holocaust Museum and Arlington Cemetery also proved to be highlights of the trip. This year four of our stu-dents were chosen to participate in a ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Senior, Ann Veazey, also traveled with the group for a second time this year. She is a co-founder of the school’s Pro-Life Club. For her, the Right to Life March, traveling from the Washington Mall to the steps of the Supreme Court, was the highpoint of the whole week. “Last year in the middle of the blizzard, thousands of people stayed, thousands of people marched, thousands of people took a stand for the unborn, the ones with no voice. It was an opportunity that I am so grateful for.” said Ann.
