Laser Light
A regular incandescent light bulb emits electromagnetic waves of varying wavelength. However, laser light consists of electromagnetic waves that are all identical (exactly the same energy level, travelling in unison in exactly the same direction).
Laser light is very pure in colour, is intense and concentrated in one narrow beam. It can travel great distances without spreading out.

Laws of Reflection
1. The angle of incidence equals the angle of reflection.
2. The incident ray, the reflected ray, and the normal all lie in the same plane.

Regular
An example of regular reflection is the glare drivers experience on wet roads. We would see fairly clear reflectionsof ourselves withregular reflections.
An example of diffusereflection is something like concrete, which has tinybumps in it. It appears dull. We can't see clear reflections of ourselves with diffuse reflections.

We appear to see an image behind the mirror. This is because our brain is used to light travelling in straight lines! The image seems to be as far behind as the object is in front.

To locate an image in a plane mirror:
a. draw rays from object to mirrorb. draw rays from mirror to eye (add eye in last)c. extend rays from eye back to mirror and through
make rays behind the mirror dotted since they are not really there

Is there an easier way of locating an image in a plane mirror?
Image characteristics are:
1. size: same as the object2. attitude: upright3. location: behind mirror, as far as object is in front4. type: virtual (there is not really an image back there!)
