Escamoles are from Mexico. They are ant eggs (giant black Liometopum Ants). Collecting these eggs is dangerous work because the ants are venomous. Escamoles taste buttery and slightly nutty. The most popular way to eat them is Taco Mia.

Casu Mearzu is from Sardinia in Italy. It’s sheep milk cheese that has been infested with live insect larvae so it is also called fly cheese. It’s like a weeping stink bomb! The translucent larvae in the cheese can jump 6 inches (15cm). It tastes strange and it burns the tongue. The worst part is that Casu Marzu is illegal across the world, including in Sardinia too.

Lutefisk is a traditional Norwegian dish. It has

lye on it. Lye is a chemical used to kill plants so Lutefisk is dangerous for people’s health.

Baby mice wine is from Korea. Little mice, with their eyes still closed, are plucked from their moms and put into a bottle to make the wine. People eat the dead mice too!

In Hong Kong they’re crazy about snakes. In snake restaurants they serve you snake soup as an appetizer and then for the main dish, they serve fried snake which tastes like chicken. For a drink, why not try snake blood?! It’s really expensive.

Durians are a kind of fruit. They have spikes on the outside but they are soft inside. They taste great, but the smell? No thanks!

Pictured above: escamoles (top left), baby mice wine (bottom left), lutefisk (right) and durian fruit (center).

Do you dare to eat a durian?! They smell revolting, like something rotting - a combination of rotting meat, sour milk and smelly sneakers! But, they are a delicacy in Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei and the Philippines.

Would you be brave enough to eat any of these things?

Television has become the most popular media for human beings. By watching TV, we can see many things that are happening in the surrounding world. It helps us to catch news and information and avoid dropping behind in the world of information.

There is a positive side and a negative side to everything and TV is

no exception.

Many people agree that the advantages of watching TV are very considerable. But besides those benefits, there are some disadvantages that we must notice to be sure that we watch TV most effectively.

There is a positive side and a negative side to everything and TV is no exception.

Wasting time is one of the inherent disadvantages of watching TV. This is even more dangerous if parents neglect their children and leave them to watch and discover TV programmes alone. They will be immediately influenced by what they see.

To rectify this situation, parents must supervise their children’s TV viewing throughout their childhood and adolescent years.

If people watch TV for a long period of time, they often get a headache and in addition, it can cause eye problems.

Too much TV can also make you passive, it disturbs relationships and can cause problems between siblings and even adults too sometimes.

These are not the only disadvantages of TV, there are many more.

I’m Makushi from the moon. I just learned to speak and write English because my language isn’t understood here on Earth. I’ve been on Earth for a day now and I’ve decided to keep a journal so I can show my friends on the moon what life is like on Earth.

First, I was surprised to see what people here look like...they’re so UGLY! I mean, they have two eyes which is awful and eyebrows...?! I’ve never seen such creatures before.

Their lives are pretty boring, they have routines and rules to follow. Aliens live free! I don’t know how you can handle your lives. But maybe if I were human, it would seem easy (but thank God I am not, life is so much easier as an alien!).

I have to go now because it’s morning and like you all know, I will burn if I stay in the sun, so see you tomorrow, if I’m still alive!

My name’s Zubillatch and I’m an alien from Zigma-B. On my last trip into space, I visited a strange planet called Earth. People who live on Earth are humans. Humans are stupid. They’re destroying their environment.

On my journey I saw different kinds of cities, heard different languages, tasted different food and saw different types of clothes.

On this bizarre planet the oceans are larger than the countries. Humans don’t travel in UFOs but they use many kinds of transport.

Their habits are so strange. I saw some children playing with a ball – they ran and

they tried to get the ball into a square thing and also jump around on just one leg. On my planet, children don’t play, they just study, study, study! I think that this planet is really silly and I

One of the most beautiful cities in Morocco is Fes. It is known as the scientific and cultural city of Morocco.

Fes was founded by Idriss I in 789 on the bank of the Jawhara River. Unfortunately for Idriss I, he died before the city was completed.

Later, his son, Idriss II continued what his father had started. He took over ruling the country, even though he was only 11 years old.

Fes is also known for its extraordinary historical monumens such as the Karouine Mosque. This Mosque is famous for being the first and oldest university in the world. It was founded by Fatima Al Fihri in 859 from money that she inherited following the death of her father Mohammed Al Fihri.

Fes is full of beautiful sights and important

historical monuments that represent our culture

and our history.

There’s also the old part of the Medina which represents many things related to Moroccan culture such as silk, leather, traditional herbal medicine etc.

And let’s not forget that Fes is amazing itself with such beauty and fascinating sights.

Each city in Morocco has special beauty, and Fes is just one of them. Fes is full of beautiful sights and important historical monuments that represent our culture and our history. Fes might not be the most gorgeous city in the world to all, but in my eyes, it definitely is.

The school of lifeLife is my first school. It has taught me a lot.

I’ve learned how to be responsible and how to become a leader.

At the age of 20, I became a mother. I was aware that bringing up children was a huge responsibility. Motherhood has taught me how to love my children and the world. The more I give, the happier I feel.

I worry about the future of my children. I

try to give them a good education by helping them in their studies.

Through the years, I have trusted myself and sought to do the right thing. I have had to manage my home by doing things right.

With my children I discuss how to be friendly, how to choose friends, how to respect other people and how to be modest. Life is really the best school.

Fes an extraordinary city full of amazing beauty and history

In our world, less than 10% of the population are happy, according to statistics. This 10% are not super women or super men, most of them have a ordinary lives but they see the world differently. They share an optimistic view and a different way of thinking, even during hard times and bad moments in their lives.

Psychologists say that our sorrow, sadness and worry are all just in our minds. So, if we don’t want to focus on them, we should change our way of thinking.

Like a wise Chinese man called Tzu said to

a student: “Thinking is like a magnet. It attracts everything so if it is positive then it will attract positive things and vice versa.”

To be happy, change the way you think. Think positive to attract love, hope, enthusiasm and good feelings that can keep you happy.

Dear unhappy people….life is not supposed to be easy, so try to enjoy it even in hard times and be careful how you view problems. Remember, after night, there is the day and after winter, there is spring. Nothing lasts forever, so stay hopeful and stay positive!

Be happy, think positive!
