INTRODUCTION

Definition drilling of the OPAP Pipe is discussed. The work was carried out on behalf

of CONS. PIPE CHANNEL GOLD CORP..

The programme followed the signing of an option with holders of the lands to explore

the OPAP Pipe in the spring of 1995, subsequent land acquisition in the immediate area, an

airborne magnetic survey of Firstbrook Twp. Ont., and a programme of line-cutting and ground

magnetics on selected air'magnetic targets including the OPAP Pipe.

The work and this report were undertaken and completed with the knowledge and

approval of D. Hoffrnan, Pres. of Cons. Pine Channel.

LOCATION and ACCESS

Firstbrook and Bucke Twps. lie on the west side of Lake Temiskaming, Ontario. This

is at about 47 0 30*N. and 79 0 45'W. some 180 km. N. Of North Bay, Ontario.

Highway No. 11 runs N.-S. through Bucke Twp., and a number of Lot and Concession

roads, general access roads and tote roads render accessibility to most properties a formality,

with very little need to create "typical", bush road access except for a very few hundreds of

metres in rare instances.

PROPERTY

The property consists of two claims in Bucke Twp.:

CI. 1118550 N/2 LOT1. CONC. 4. andW/2.N/2 LOT 2. CONC. 4. 96 Ha

HISTORY

The OPAP Pipe lies within the Temiskaming Kimberlite Field, itself the southern part

of the larger Kirkland Lake - Temiskaming kimberlite province. Prior to Cons. Pine Channel

work, this field contained at least six (6) known kimberlite occurences: The Guiges, Nedelec

and Border occurences in Quebec, and the Bucke, Gravel and OPAP occurences in the area

of Hwy 11 adjacent to Haileybury and New Liskeard.

The area was flown by Monopros in 1982 and the anomaly over the Bucke Pipe

identified. Ground work further defined the anomaly but a diamond drill hole intersected

diabase under 41m. of overburden: the claims were abandoned. (Asses. Rpt 2.614-2).

Lac Minerals then acquired the ground (1984) and drilled a hole which intersected

kimberlite at 41 m. and continued in kimberlite until the hole was stopped at 346.5 m.. Later,

early 90's, KWG conducted work on the pipe, and it is believed that a diamond grade of

30C./100T. has been achieved. It is also believed that the stones show considerable resorption.

The Gravel Pipe, about 1km. To the e.s.e. was discovered and tested by Vera Cruz.

605kg. of K. from five drill holes returned only three micro'diamonds and four macro'diamonds.

John Ewanchuk and Keith Barron had a mutual interest in the area and joined forces to

acquire a land package (with R.L. Barnett) that was optioned to Bethlehem Resources in 1992.

Airmagnetics defined a number of anomalies: sk were drilled and no kimberlite encountered.

The holdings and data were returned to the partners. Eventually J. Ewanchuk, with funds from

an OPAP grant, drilled a short hole into the anomaly - the OPAP Pipe is the result, and the option

to Consolidated Pine Channel.

With the option came access to the air'mag survey of Bucke Twp., and a fairly complete

land - holding package was amassed to cover most of the "interesting" air'magnetic anomalies.

Further, a new air'mag was flown over Firstbrook Twp. and some new anomalies acquired;

unfortunately, none of these is too exciting.

REGIONAL GEOLOGY

The area is part of the Abitibi sub'province of the Superior Province of the Canadian

Shield. The Archean basement is about 2.7 b.y. and comprises metavolcanics (greenstones),

typical granite/gneiss shield rocks, and some sedimentary units.

The predominant structure is the NNW-SSE trending Temiskaming Graben which

contains most of the local Paleozoic carbonates as well as playing host to Lake Temiskaming.

The known kimberlite occurences lie along the flanks of this structure, although that may be

simply a function of the lack of overlaying, late debris, and the consequent ease of exploration.

DIAMOND DRILLING

The OPAP Pipe, a heterolithic, volcaniclastic diatreme - facies kimberlite breccia was

tested by sk d.d.h.'s for a total of 747m.. Of this 651.35m. is kimberlite. The 6.75m. of

kimberlite from OPAP-1 is retained for reference - it is extremely friable or rotten; it is of interest

as it lies under a cap of sts/arg. (Pre-Cambrian), is a diatreme - facies BX., and contains carb,

frags (Paleozoic); this latter is indicative of at least two, explosive, mixing events; the last failed

to dislodge the cap rock at the s. w. margin of the pipe, and caused some stoping under it. The

rock is described in detail in accompanying drill hole logs. (App.l)

The average S.G. of kimberlite from holes OPAP-2 to 5 inclus. Is just under 3.0 - 560m.

and 1565kg.. The rock in OPAP-6 is extremely friable and much was "ground" in drilling: the

"apparent" S.G. is about 2.0 -86m. and 175kg..

Drilling commenced early in Oct. 1995 and was completed early Nov. 1995.

Only OPAP-2 was tested with a magnetic susceptibility meter due to the failure of the

unit. Magnetism is not strong, but all core would attract a magnet from a few mm. away, and

in the odd spot from about lcm., and appears to be "normally" magnetised.

The magnetic anomaly recovered by a ground survey is a "negative"; considering the

"normal" magnetism of the rock. The ground signature may be attributed to the feet that the

kimberlite is in a "hole", and the surrounding, higher outcrop of sediments (magnetic on bedding

planes) and diabase are more magnetic than the diatreme rocks. However, it is possible that the

body as a whole retains and exhibits remanence.

As each hole was completed, with the exception of OPAP-1, a composite sample

(10-15cm. every 2-5m.) was taken: these are samples VR11458A - VR11462A for holes

OPAP-2 to -6 respectively.

These samples were submitted to Kennecott Canada Inc. for processing at the

laboratory in Thunder Bay, Ont. Processing consists of crushing to -1mm., screening to two

fractions (0.25-0.5mm. and 0.5-lmm.), magnetic separation in a rolls magnetic separator to

remove manetic material, concentration in a heavy liquid (Sodium poly-tungstate:S.G. ~ 2.95),

retrieval and washing of concentrates ^2.95 S.G.).

The resulting samples are observed under microscope and picked for any minerals of

the following; garnets, chromites, ilmenites, clino'pyroxene (chrome diopside), orthopyroxene

(enstatic) and olivine. The "picks" are then subject to a further (representative) selection and

these are submitted to R.L. Barnett for microprobe analyses.

Final picks are as follows:

These pyropes generally are G.9. garnets (macrocryst suite) with only three (3) of 226

creeping into the diamond stability field. Eclogitic pyrope is typical upper mantle. Chrome

diopside lies largely within the diamond stability field (or along it's margins) -. the exception

in this survey. Olivine and orthopyroxene are typical macrocryst suite or uper mantle. Chromite

is typical upper mantle with but three (3) of 127 edging into the diamond stability field.

These results suggest that the OPAP Pipe could be diamondiferous, although the

apparent (?) lack of ilmenite suggests that it may be rich enough in iron to have passed into the

"mags" upon magnetic separation, possibly hinting at strong resorption.

Given the location of the pipe, its quite good size, and relatively shallow depth, even a low

content of low value stones could make this of occurrence of no small interest.

NOTES:

i) The core was sampled - put in buckets, four to a sample and 25kg. per bucket.

ii) Four 50kg. (1/2 samples) lots from holes OPAP-2 to -5 inclusive were forwarded to

Vancouver. It is the author's understanding that the balance is in storage at the

facilities of Devex Exploration in La Ronge, SK.,

iii) It is understood that the two samples each for fusion were submitted to de Beers

(sent to RSA?) and to Lakefield laboratories. It is further understood that no

diamonds were recovered at either facility.

SUMMARY

Six diamond drill holes were drilled on the OPAP kimberlite in Oct.(Nov.) 1995.

Indicator mineral chemistry suggested that there were some hope of recovering diamonds.

(Supposed?) attempts at diamond recovery reportedly failed to return any stones.

CONCLUSIONS

It would appear that the OPAP Pipe is non-diamondiferous. However, all fusion

samples came from the first samples in the holes tested - the upper part of the pipe - and so it

would appear that with so much material remaining ^1.2 tonnes?) that some tests of deeper

material may be worthwhile.

i) Devex is a subsiduary of CONS. PINE CHANNEL and so costs are not easily realised.

However, other contracts overseen by the author saw prices vary from S69.007m. to S83.007m. at

the time. I am sure that CONS. PINE CHANNEL/DEVEX can justify the "contract" estimate

used.

ii) Mob. and de mob. are pro-rata ( and probably low) as other targets were drilled - the

actual cost from La Ronge and back is probably in the region of S8-10K.

iii) The rates for laboratory are Kennecott standard, and can be verified, as can the rates

for microprobe analysis.

Casing: Boulder Till - mixed bag of boulders.

Heterolithic, Volcaniclastic K. Ex.. a massive or uniform appearing gray rock. an almost uniform mix of Pre-Cambrian and Paleozoic rocks . Pre-Cambrian gneiss , granite, diorite, diabase, arkosic siltstone, argillite (uncommon), greywacke predominate; with arkosic siltstone/f ine sandstone having the highest frequency. Cobalt conglomerate is noted - pebbles in fine matrix as cobble size clasts .

Generally the smaller, more angular frags, are most common and the Pre-Cambrian ones dominate. Larger frags, are more rounded and comprised mainly of carbonate rocks. Carb. and Db. frags, to 7cm. are observed: carb, is limestone and/or dolomite - both are buff in colour and may be fossilif erous .

The carb, frags, are often serpentinised with a rim of lighter material a few mm. thick around a finer band of green, translucent serpentine a few mm. thick within this and next to "fresh" carbonate.

Calcite veining is common at high angles to the c .a. .under a lens it can be seen that the "matrix" also contains a fine, xenolithic content - usually tiny frags, of gray/green siltstone down to and under 1mm. in diameter. K. often comprises less than 50 !fc of the rock and always less than 65%.

The K. is of at least three (?) generations: autoliths a) rare clasts, angular, of medium to dark gray K. with microcrysts and rare microphenocrysts (of olivine?), b) a gray/green, very f.g. K. with microcrysts and occasional microphenocrysts of olivine: these clasts are usually sub'angular, c) a brown, v.f.g. K. with macro- to microcrysts and rare microphenocrysts. Perfectly round (spherical?) ones are noted (< l cm. generally) but no concentric foliation is seen. Quite angular ones ( < 2 .5cm.) contain micro to fine ( < 4mm.) macrocrysts; some of the latter are broken at the rim of the clast, or protruding from it. These forms may indicate two generations from a single magma.

The matrix is cryptocrystalline, gray and contains numerous macro and microcrysts of serpentine: larger macros contain fresh olivine in a matrix of dark brown serpentine (? - and mica?), and larger still contain olivine in a cocoon of serpentine and often magnetite formed in the "typical" olivine parting. Macros > 0.5cm. are not common.

There are autoliths with xenoliths (cores??) and smaller, sparse pelletal lapilli. In addition there are fresh olivine micro-Xmacrocrysts, presumably the result of disaggregation of larger macros. INDICATORS: - one tiny C.D. ( < 172mm.) in an autolith.very few pyropes - macros of highly altered material: very fine red to purple matter in an aphanitic, creamy matrix, usually entirely within a kelyphitic rim.some opagues too small to identify - probably magnetite. rare small macros of phlogopite.

The entire rock is strongly magnetic - normal magnetism.

- immediate impression is that this is like OPAP-2 .- the rock is a slightly darker gray; there are fewer

(?) carb, xenoliths, but they are larger (2 exceed 30 cm.) and some exhibit the serpentine alteration noted in OPAP-2. P. C. xenoliths are as numerous as in OPAP-3 and roughly similar in size, but larger rounded ones are generally absent, and angular ones to 4cm. are present, some obviously (?) are derived from pebble/cobble conglomerate.

Generalisation: angularity decreases assize increases.

- carb, veining is lower in content, but varies greatly in attitude - to sub parallel to c. a..

- closer examination reveals a distinct greenish cast on the gray.

- there are more small, dark argillite frags, and fewer ss/sts . .

- occasional, tabular (angular) clasts of carb, are seen.

- the matrix is weakly calcitic locally.Macrocrysts of fresh to

serpentinised olivine are common sub 'angular rather than sub 'rounded. megacrysts are present, but macros are predominant and usually < !X2cm. .

- there are rare fine macros of phlogopite. Most noteworthy is that the brown K. of OPAP-2

is now quite prominent. Oval or round (to rare amoeboid) lapilli are more common and autoliths, attain sizes of > 2.5cm. - the smaller ones ( < 172cm.) are usually angular. Macro-rich clasts are common; micros are very common and microphenocrysts are rare.

Some round lapilli (?) exhibit a faintly concentric foliation. Again round and angular forms may suggest two events from a single magma.

"Gray" K. autoliths are rare and all noted are angular and micro- to finely macrocrystal with rare microphenocrysts.

The gray-green K. is not noted.Partial mantles of brown K. on macros and

lapilli are not uncommon. The more one sees, the more one suspects that

the brown K. may be part and parcel of the final eruptive event with small, angular clasts forming from the larger, preexisting autoliths.

118-135 As Above - Variation on a theme- contains more frequently occurring large carb. -

micros, macros and megacrysts of olivine and fresh olivine (including laths) developed from disaggregation of the aforementioned macros and megas. Rare microphenocrysts are seen.
