Marge was born on a farm near Davey, Nebraska to Carl and Anne Olson. She was one of five children in the family. She enjoyed growing up on the farm, saying that she “had the best parents ever.” She went to Country School eight years and graduated from Northeast High School in Lincoln. She attended one year of college at the University of Nebraska, studying business. Marge spent most of her adult living in Lincoln, where she worked at the Law Office of Baylor, Evnen, and Baylor, as a legal secretary. She always tried to do her very best in whatever she did. Marge met Joe Kolar when she was on a date with another couple. They were married on May 8, 1954. They were blessed with five children, namely: Lorine Kolar of Omaha; Mary Brinkman of Shickley; Jane Kucko of Fort Worth, Texas; John of Basel, Switzerland; and Jim of Lincoln. She has 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Joe died on November 18, 2014. This was a very difficult loss for her, but she continued to live in Lincoln, until moving to Heritage Crossings on June 10, 2015, to be nearer to her daughter, Mary and her family. Raising her family had always been the center of her life with the many joys that come from parenting. She and her husband also took many trips over the years, which they enjoyed greatly. Marge is a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Lincoln and draws so much strength from her faith in God. We are indeed proud to have Margaret as a member of our Heritage family.
