b. Elmer Davis's time at Oxford was cut short when his father was taken ill and eventuallydied.
c. As of 2007, Malta and Singapore no longer nominate candidates for Rhodesscholarships. In 2018, the Rhodes Scholarship was reinstated for Singapore.[24]
