About Annie LalleyFor singer-songwriter Annie Lalley, making things beautiful is as natural asbreathing. Whether it is the soulful rock-path flower garden behind herAsheville, North Carolina home or the flowing songs she spins from thethreads of her experiences, Annie Lalley does life from the heart. And thenthere's “The Voice.” Accomplished to the point of being able to performanything from classical to Broadway, jazz to contemporary folk, Lalley's"spine tingling" vocal style for her original songs ranges from nakedtenderness to sultry pop.

She has a unique history which comes out in her song writing, a processwhich she describes as "a way for me to try to know myself and how I'mreacting to the life around me." It's often a painful path to walk, but Lalleycovers her emotional ground with courage, insight and maturity. She is joinedin concert by her husband, Joe Ebel, a masterful musician in his own right, who plays five-string viiolin and guitar and joins Annie on vocals.

Lalley's current release, Jungle Heart, produced by the award winningsinger-songwnter, Chris Rosser, and co-produced by Annie Lalley and WalterParks, serves up a diverse mix of stunning vocals and arrangements with folk, pop and world influences. The track "Here In This Place" even features aTibetan chant by Lalley's friend, Bhagkang Tulku Rinpoche. U.S. FingerstyleChampion and Windham Hill artist, Bill Mize is a frequent side-man andperformed on both her debut and Jungle Heart. Joe Ebel lends his violinskills on several tracks as well

Lalley performed in music theatre landing a lead role as "Janet" in the Frenchproduction of The Rocky Horror Picture Show in Paris. She earned her equitycard at Ford's Theatre in Washington, D.C., in an ensemble production of AChristmas Carol. She then watched her career come to a halt when a drunkdriver hit her car and left her with a severe neck injury. The resultant surgeryleft her without a voice for three months. On a trip to Central America, shecould only watch as her best friend and traveling companion was killed in atraffic accident. And for years she spent much of her time caring for herinvalid mother. Yet in spite of such intense personal setbacks, Lalley does notdwell in the depths. She pulls life's joys and humor into her writing with agrace and ease that belies her struggles. In fact, her warm wit and flat-outhumor are inherent qualities that shine through her personality on stage, providing a captivating performance between the light and shadow of hersongs. Lalley's acclaimed debut CD of original songs, Promise, features someof the finest musicians in New York and the southern mountains of her homeand was recorded with Sony producer Rob Friedman.

Like Lalley herself, these albums only get better with familiarity.

About Joe Ebel

Joe Ebel, is a working songwriter who uses acoustic steel string guitarand five-string violin to create heartfelt instrumental pieces withemotional content and lasting melodies. He has released two CDs,Kadotume and Dancing With Shadows, with noted guitarist KenBonfield, and most recently, his critically acclaimed debut instrumentalCD, Primebel. Primebel has been selected to three “Best of 2003” listsincluding the Top 25 Essential CDs of 2003 as selected by the staff ofEchoes, the PRI syndicated radio show heard on over 150 stations, theTop Ten CDs of 2003 as selected by Grammy Award WinningProducer/Musician and TV Personality David Holt, and the Top TenNew Age and Acoustic Instrumental CDs of 2003 as selected by BillBinkelman of Wind and Wire.

Joe calls his style “back porch classical.” Though he has a smatteringof classical training (his first six years of music were on violin with theclassics) he maintains that he has not let it get in the way of creating hisunique music. With experience playing old time, bluegrass, blues, folk, and rock and roll, he has most recently settled into writing andperforming instrumental music on the steel string acoustic guitar.Using non-traditional tunings and a fingerstyle approach, Joe startswith guitar and then layers five-string violin melodies on top to create arich musical experience.

From picturesque Asheville, North Carolina, in the heart of theAppalachian Mountains, Joe showcases his unique blend of technologyand organic musings. Through the use of an electronic phrase sampler,he displays his multi-instrumentality by layering fingerstyle acousticguitar and violin melodies. Audiences are delighted with this technicalmagic but Joe never loses sight of the soul expression that is his music. The music must have emotional impact to be in Joe's repertoire.

Joe now lends his support to, and performs with, Annie Lalley, anAsheville, North Carolina native. He played extensively on Annie’slatest CD release, Jungle Heart, and currently performs with her on tourwhere he presents his instrumental music and joins Annie in support ofher unique songs.
