sional use. The appliance is only fordomestic use.

INSTALLATION• The appliance is heavy, be careful

when you move it.• Do not transport your appliance with-

out the transit bolts, you can damageinternal components and cause leak-ages or malfunctions.

• Do not install and connect a dam-aged appliance.

• Make sure to remove all packagingand transport bolts.

• Make sure that the mains plug is dis-connected from the mains socketduring installation.

• Only a qualified person must do theelectrical installation, the plumbingand the installation of the appliance.This to prevent the risks of structuraldamage or injury.

• Do not install or use the appliancewhere the temperature is less than 0°C.

• When you install the appliance on acarpet floor, make sure that there isair circulation between the applianceand the carpet. Adjust the feet tohave the necessary space betweenthe appliance and the carpet.

Water connection• Do not connect the appliance with

old hoses already used. Only use newhoses.

• Make sure not to cause damage tothe water hoses.

• Do not connect the appliance to newpipes or pipes not used for a longtime. Let the water flow for some mi-nutes, then connect the inlet hose.

• The first time you use the appliance,make sure that the water hoses andthe couplings do not have leakages.

Electrical connection• Make sure that the appliance is

earthed.• Make sure that the electrical informa-

tion on the rating plate agrees withthe power supply.

• Always use a correctly installedshockproof socket.

• Do not use multiple plugs and exten-sion cables. There is a risk of fire.

• Do not replace or change the mainscable. Contact the service centre.

• Make sure not to cause damage tothe mains plug and cable.

• Connect the mains plug to the mainssocket only at the end of the installa-tion. Make sure that there is accessto the mains plug after the installa-tion.

• Do not pull the mains cable to dis-connect the appliance. Always pullthe mains plug.

• Only for UK and Ireland. The appli-ance has a 13 amp mains plug. If it isnecessary to change the fuse in themains plug, use a 13 amp ASTA (BS1362) fuse.

• Permanent connection. To connectthe appliance permanently, install adouble-pole isolating switch betweenthe appliance and the electricity sup-ply. It must have a minimum distanceof 3 mm between the switch contactsand it must be the correct type forthe necessary load. It must agreewith the last electrical legislation. Theswitch must not break the yellow andgreen ground cable.Only a qualified electrician must in-stall this type of device.

LOADING THE LAUNDRY

1. Open the appliance door.2. The display (E) shows the maximum

programme load for the pro-gramme (MAX ) and the weight ofthe laundry (KG). The text bar onthe display tells to add the laundry.

3. Put the laundry in the drum, oneitem at a time. Shake the items be-fore you put them in the appliance.

4. On the display the weight of thelaundry updates by step of kg 0.5.The weight is indicative andchanges with the type of the laun-dry.

If you put more laundry than themaximum load, the display tellsthat you put more than the max-imum load.You can wash your laundry butthe energy and water consump-tion increase.To have the best consumptionand washing performance re-move some items.The overload indication is avail-able only for programmes with amaximum load lower than theappliance maximum load.

SET THE DELAY START1. Touch button 7 again and again

to set the desired delayed start.The display shows the expectedend of the programme

When you drain the water with theemergency drain procedure, you mustactivate again the drain system:1. Put 2 litres of water in the main

wash compartment of the deter-gent dispenser.

2. Start the programme to drain thewater.

• Loosen or tighten the feet to adjustthe level. A correct adjustment of theappliance level prevents the vibra-tion, noise and the movement of theappliance when in operation.

• The appliance must be level and sta-ble.

• Connect the hose to the appliance.Turn the inlet hose only left or right.Loose the ring nut to set it in the cor-rect position.

• Connect the water inlet hose to thecold water tap with 3/4 thread.

CAUTION!Make sure that there are noleaks from the couplings.

Do not use an extension hose ifthe inlet hose is too short. Con-tact the service centre for the re-placement of the inlet hose.

Water pressureThe appliance works correctly if the wa-ter pressure is not less than 0.05 MPa(0.5 bar).

If you can not connect the water inlethose to the cold water tap of the pri-mary hydraulic system, connect it toyour domestic cold water storage sys-tem.Make sure not to have more than a dis-tance of 5.02 m (16.5 ft) between theappliance inlet hose and the bottom ofthe water storage tank.

Water-stop device

The inlet hose has a water stop device.This device prevents water leaks in thehose because of its natural ageing. Thered sector in the window «A» shows thisfault .If this occur, close the water tap andcontact the service centre to replacethe hose.

WATER DRAINAGEThere are different procedures to con-nect the drain hose:

With the plastic hose guide.

• On the edge of a sink.• Make sure that the plastic guide can-

not move when the appliance drains.Attach the guide to the water tap orthe wall.

• To a stand pipe with vent-hole.Refer to the illustration. Directly intoa drain pipe at a height of not lessthan 60 cm (23.6”) and not more than100 cm (39.3”). The end of the drainhose must always be ventilated , i.e.the inner diameter of the drainpipe(min. 38 mm — min. 1.5”) must belarger than the external diameter ofthe drain hose.
