Installing Eyemaginations LUMA™

Before You Install:

• TheinstallationfromDVDmaytakeupto40minutes,longerifdownloadedovertheweb,so please be patient.

• WheninstallingmakesureyourWindowsaccounthasAdministrator(PowerUser)privilegesbeforeyouinstallEyemaginationsLUMA™.

Instructions:

1. Togetstarted,inserttheEyemaginationsLUMA™USBdriveorDVD,ordouble-clickthedownloadedinstaller(setup.exe).

2. Choose your installation language, and then wait for the installation wizard to appear, as seen below:

3. If the dialog box does not appear:

1. Double-clickon“MyComputer”.

2. IfusingaUSBtoinstall,right-clickontheUSBdriveandselect“Open”fromthe menuthatappears.Otherwise,right-clickontheDVDdriveandselect“Explore”.

3. Double-clicktheiconnamed“setup.exe”.

4. Followtheon-screeninstructionsandwaitfortheinstallationtobegin.

5. Youwillbeaskedtochoosea“Typical”or“Custom”install.Forthelatter,youwillbe



promptedforanalternateinstalllocation(defaultisProgramFiles)andtoselectwhichsoftwareshortcutsshouldbecreated.ATypicalinstallationusesdefaultsettings.

6. Next, you will be prompted to provide your account number, which should appear on your invoice or installation e-mail. This account number is unique to your account and allowsaccesstotheLUMAsoftware.

7. ThiswillthenproceedthroughtheactivationofyourLUMAsoftware.

8. You will then be prompted to select a location for the PC. You can choose from a series of pre-determined locations, or enter a custom location title. This location allows us to bettertrackthelocationofeachlicenseusedwithintheaccount.Also,newtothisversionofLUMA,youcanselectyourpracticespecialty,givingyoucustomizedplaylistandQuicklist settings from launch. If you have an existing .luma export file, that too can be imported here.



9. Onceactivationhasbeenconfirmed,theLUMAManagerwillopendisplayingavailableadd-ons.Tocontinuewiththeinstallation,clickthegreenINSTALLNOWbuttonatthebottom.Choose“InstallLater”todelaythisstep.

DuringtheinstallationofeachAdd-On,youbeabletotracktheprogressviaapercentagebaratthebottom,andacheckboxontheright.AllgreencheckedAdd-Onshave been successfully installs.



CertainoptionalAdd-Onscannowbedeselectedviathecheckboxtothelefttoallowfora quicker install.

Installation time will vary based upon your internet download speed and the overall numberofAdd-Onslicensed.

ThesoftwaredefautstoobtainingtheAdd-OnsfromtheUSBordiscmedia.Ifthismediaisnotavailable,theManagerdefaultstousingtheInternettoobtaineachAdd-On.Ifyouclickonthe“AdvancedOptions”button,youmaychoosetodownloadtheAdd-Onsfromlocal install media. This allows for quicker installation. To collapse this view, simply click ontheAdvancedOptionsbuttonasecondtime.

10.Onceinstallationhascompleted,theLUMAsoftwarewilllaunchtothemainmenuoftheprogram. Congratulations, the program is now installed and ready for use!



LUMA Manager

The most powerful administrative feature of Eyemaginations LUMA™, the LUMA Manager allows youtomanageLUMAinauser-friendlyenvironment.ToaccesstheLUMAManager,clickontheWindowsStartmenu,thennavigatetoPrograms,thenEyemaginationsandselect“ManageEyemaginationsLUMA™”.

ThefirstavailabletabwithintheLUMAManageris“Updates”.You’llrecognizethisscreenfromyourinitialinstallation.InadditiontofacilitatingyouroriginalinstallationoftheLUMAprogram,you’llbeabletodownloadsoftwareupdatesastheybecomeavailablefromthistab.Aswithyouroriginalinstallation,clickingon“AdvancedOptions”allowsyoutochooseadifferentmediasource, such as a network drive, disc or shared folder, should you have already downloaded the necessaryupdate(s).



ThesecondtabwithintheLUMAManageris“Settings”.First,youcansetthelanguageforallmenuswithinthesoftware.Second,youcanchecktohaveLUMAlaunchautomaticallyuponstartupofthePC.Finally,hereyoucansetthedefaultdownloadlocationforAdd-Ons.Ifyour practice has a shared network, we recommend changing this path to a shared network location,sothatyouonlyneedtodownloadeachAdd-Onfromtheinternetonce.Clicking“SetDownload”locationopensthefamiliarWindowsExplorerdialogtoselectyourpreferreddownload folder location.



ThethirdtabavailablewithintheLUMAManageris“Support”.Onthistabyou’llfindalloftheappropriatecontactinformationforourTechnicalSupportdepartment,aswellasbuttonstotestyour Internet connection, to launch our Customer Care Center, a shortcut to e-mail our support team, a direct connection for remote PC support, and finally an option to clear your software’s local cache.



ThefourthtaboftheLUMAManageristheExport/ImportUtility.Withthisutility,youcanchoosetoexportyourLUMAsettingsorimportthoseusedonanotherstation,allowingyoutosyncyourLUMAoptionsthroughoutyourpractice.

ToExport,clickthelargegreen“Export”button.YouwillseethestandardWindowsExplorerdialogue,askingyouwhereyouwanttosaveyour“*.luma”file.This.lumafileisacollectionof all of the exported settings, and we recommend keeping it in a safe location for backup purposes.Oncetheexporthascompleted,you’llseeamessageconfirmingthesuccessfulexport.

If you’re attempting an import of a .luma settings file, the process is just as easy. Within the LUMAManager,clickthelargegreen“Import”button.ThiswillonceagainbringuptheWindowsExplorerdialog,allowingyoutolocateyoursaved.lumafile.Oncethefileislocatedandselected, you may then begin the Import process. When the import completes, you will receive aconfirmationmessage.Pleasenote,version2.0allowsimportsfromversion1.7,1.8,1.8.5,1.9and 1.9.5.



ThenextsectionoftheLUMAManageristhe“Account”tab.Here,youwillfindinformationonyouraccount,suchasthestation’suniqueLUMAlicensenumber,thenumberofLUMAlicensesusedbyyouraccount,andtheoverallnumberofLUMAlicensesavailableforyouraccount.YoucanseeandeditthelistingforthePCLocation.Additionally,youwillseealistingofyourlicensedLUMAAdd-Ons.



Finally,thelastsectionoftheLUMAManagerisforPartnerAccess.ThisinformationallowsforhooksinvariousEMRprograms.Thisinformationisprimarilyfordeveloperuse,andwillnotbenecessary for daily usage.

Getting Started

Starttheprogrambyeitherofthesemethods:

• Double-clicktheLUMA™ icon on your desktop.

• OntheWindowstaskbarclickStart-Programs-Eyemaginations-EyemaginationsLUMA

Take a moment to view main menu. Each icon allows you to access the different sections of the software.

• TheExamAdvisorandEyeHealthoptionsallowyoutoviewconditionsanddiscusstreatments using an anatomical guide.

• TheScheduleroptionallowsyoutoshowcaseyourplayliststhroughouttheworkday.

• TheMediaCenterisanindexofallNarrativevideos,Images,TriviaSidesandImportedMediaavailableonyoursystem.Hereyoucancreatecustomplaylistsofyourfavoritemedia.

• TheQuickListisauserselectedgroupingofeasilyaccessiblemedia.

• TheOpticalAdvisorandHearingAdvisorsectionsallowyoutoexplainvarioustreatmentoptions to your patients, and their individual pros and cons.

Eye Exam Advisor

TheEyeExamAdvisortoolisauniquevisualinterfacewhichallowsphysiciansandpatientsaliketo examine conditions using the human face to explore the anatomy of the eye.

ToaccessTheEyeExamAdvisortool,click“EyeExamAdvisor”fromtheEyemaginations LUMA™ menu.

WhenfirstpresentedwiththeEyeExamAdvisortool,youwillseeTheAnatomyView,withimageshighlighting,fromlefttoright,AnteriorView,Head-FrontView,EyeCrossSection,Head-VisualPathwayandPosteriorView.Clickanyoftheseimagestoexplorefurther.Additionally,youcanclickthe“RelatedAnatomy”and“RelatedConditions”optionstoviewallavailableanatomy and conditions options for this module. There is more information on use of these two buttons below.



WhenanAnatomyoptionhasbeenchosen,thescreenwillchangetoaclose-upofthatanatomical structure. You have a variety of options here.

First, you will note a series of thumbnails on each corner, each leading to another anatomical view, allowing you to explore further into your chosen view of the eye.

Ontheupperleft-handsideofthescreen,youwillseeamenutoviewmediaoneitheranatomyorconditionswhicharerelatedtothispartoftheeye.Thismenucanbeexpanded/closedviathe“Show/Hide”dialogueatthetop.

ClickingtheRelatedAnatomyoptionopensadrawer-likemenu(seenbelow),whichallowsyoutoquicklyfindrelatedanatomicalviews.Inaddition,youcanclickthe“AnatomyIndex”optionto see all possible anatomical views, listed in alphabetical order.



SelectingtheRelatedConditionsoption(seenabove)bringsupalistofconditionsthatmayaffectthisportionoftheeye.SelectingaconditionwillopentherelatedConditionView.FormoreinformationontheConditionView,seebelow.

Also,similartothe“AnatomyIndex”option,clickingthe“ConditionsIndex”bringsupalistingofallavailableconditions.ThesearesortedbyAnterior,PosteriorandRefractiveErrors.Youcanreturn to the prior option by clicking the back arrow at the top.

In addition, in the lower left-hand side of the screen, labeling of the anatomy can be checked on andoffbyclickingtheaboveicon.Ablanktagindicatesthelabelsareoff,buta“T”onthetag,with a blue background, indicates the labels are on.



To switch to a different anatomy view of the eye, click on the plus signs or thumbnails seen on the anatomical perspective. With each click, the related conditions and media will update.

InallsectionsoftheEyeExamAdvisor,youcandrawonscreenusingyourmouse.Simplyholddown the left mouse button to draw, and move the mouse accordingly. To change the color of your lines, click the Pen icon. To erase all lines, click right-mouse button or the eraser icon.

To navigate through your menu selection history, use the arrows in the icon above. To return to themainAnatomyView,pleaseclickthefacialiconshownabove.



Condition View

When you’ve chosen a condition from the left-hand menu, seen above, you will be brought to the default view of the condition. This will show the progression of the condition, which can be controlled by the arrows at the bottom of the screen.

Onthescreenshowcasingtheparticularcondition,youarepresentedwithavarietyofcontrolswhich will allow you to explain the condition to your patients.

Ontherighthand-side,fromthetoptothebottom,herearethefunctionsavailable(seenleft):

• Condition Types:Allowsyoutoimmediatelyaccessinformationondifferentvarieties oftheselectedcondition(ex.Conjunctivitis-Allergic,Conjuctivitis-Bacterial, Conjuctivitus-Viral)

• Condition View:Allowsyoutoshowyourpatientvaryinglevelsofseverityfromminor (green)tomajor(red).Inaddition,youcanswitchbetweendifferentviewsoftheeye(ex. AnteriorView,LidsCrossSection).

• Point of View:Allowsyoutoshowpatientshowtheconditionwillaffecttheir vision, using different real life scenarios.

• Treatment Options:Slideswhichexplainthedifferenttreatmentoptionsforthe chosen condition.



• Testing Options:Slidesthatexplaintheoptionsavailablefortestingforthechosen condition.

• Risk Factors: Explains what could cause the condition.

• Related Media:Selectionofadditionalmediarelatedtothecondition.

Ontheleft-handside,youareabletoreturntotheAnatomyview,orchooseanotherconditionfromtheConditionIndex.Shouldyouwanttohidethismenu,simplyclicktheShow/Hidedialogue at the top.

WithEyemaginationsLUMA™’sOptical Advisor tool, you can discuss lens options with your patients in a refreshing, interactive format.

ToaccesstheOpticalAdvisortool,click“OpticalAdvisor”ontheEyemaginations LUMA™ home menu.

UponselectingtheOpticalAdvisor,youwillbepresentedwithavarietyofoptions,includingLensDesign,LensMaterialandLensAdd-Ons.



ClickingontheLensDesign,LensMaterialorLensAdd-Onswillbringyoutoamenuspecifictoyour selection.

Ononeside,youhaveshortcutstoeachoftheDesigns,MaterialsorAdd-Ons(shownleft),accessibleinamenusimilartothosefoundintheExamAdvisorSection.

Ontheotherside,youhaveselectionswhichallowforin-depthexplanationofeachDesign,MaterialorAdd-Ons(shownright).Fromtoptobottom,theavailableoptionsare:

WhenfirstpresentedwiththeENTExamAdvisortool,youwillseeTheAnatomyView,withimageshighlightingtheEar,Nose,SinusesandThroatrespectively.Clickanyoftheseimagestoexplore further. WhenanAnatomyoptionhasbeenchosen,thescreenwillchangetoaclose-upofthisanatomicalregion.Usershaveavarietyofoptionshere.

Whenever you see the above icon, you can see a brief animation for how different information is taken in or produced by your selected body part, whether it’s sound waves, vocal flow or air flow.

WhenfirstpresentedwiththeEarExamAdvisortool,youwillseetheEar-CrossSectionView,with images highlighting the additional anatomical views. Click any of these images to explore further.

Additionally,clickingtheaboveicononanyanatomicviewwillshowcasehowsoundwavestravelthrough the ear within this view.



When an anatomical view has been selected, the screen will change to a close-up of this view. You have a variety of options here.

Hearing Advisor

Onceyou’vespokentoyourpatientsaboutthedifferentconditionstheymaybeexperiencingwith their hearing, one of the treatment options that may be necessary is that of a hearing aid. With Eyemaginations LUMA™’s Hearing Advisor tool, you can discuss hearing aid options with your patients in a refreshing, interactive format.

ToaccesstheHearingAdvisortool,click“HearingAdvisor”ontheEyemaginations LUMA™ home menu.

UponselectingtheHearingAdvisor,youwillbepresentedwiththetwoHearingHealthOptions,LifestylesandHearingAidOverview.

The Lifestyles overview, seen below, allows you and your patient to choose which would be thebestHearingAidoptionforthem,ina“Good/Better/Best”presentation,presentingthestrengths of each option.



TheHearingAidOverviewisanin-depthreviewofeachvarietyofHearingAid.Toselectatypeof hearing aid, click on the related screenshot on the top portion of the screen.



Uponselectingthehearingaidtype,youwillbepresentedwithinformationonthisstyleofhearing aid on the left, and on the right, short videos showcasing the function and form of the hearingaid.Aguidetotheseiconsappearsbelow.

Facial Aesthetics

This visual interface allows physicians to quickly and easily manipulate the face as a way for patients to conceptualize a specific treatment.

ThefirstscreenoftheFacialAdvisorallowsyoutoselectwhichareasofthefaceareofinterestor concern via the buttons on the left side.

Ontherightside,multipleviewsareavailable:sidelateralview,three-quarterviewandtheanteriorview.Selectingatopicfromtheleftsidewillplaceamarkerontheface.Youalsohavethe option to mirror selected areas of interest.



Onceyouhaveselectedallareasofinterest,click“Ready”toshowalargerviewalongwithseveral toolbars at the bottom. The first button on the left will allow you to save the areas of interest but in fact hide the actual markers shown from the previous screen. The center toolbar givesyoutheabilitytorotatebothsidesoftheface180degreesandtozoominandout.Thedrawing toolbar allows you to be more specific when demonstrating incision lines and treatment zones.

Two important buttons can also be found along the bottom. The Conditions tool allows you to demonstrate5levelsofaging.Byusingthisfeatureyoucanshowhowtheskinprogressivelystarts to wrinkle and sag over time and without preventative or immediate treatment this will continue to worsen over time.



The treatment tool offers 6 options that can be applied to those specific areas of interest. Byselectingaspecifictreatment,thepatientisabletounderstandtheimpactaswellastheaesthetic look of the treatment.



AnotherfeatureofthismoduleallowsyoutodiscussanddemonstrateRhinoplasty.Byselecting“Nose”atthetopofthepageandclickingthetreatmentandconditiontoolsatthebottomyoucanselectfrom7differentnosetypes.Rotatethefacetoshowthemostimpactandwithinjustone or two clicks the patient can conceptualize the goal of surgery.



Scheduler

With Eyemaginations LUMA™, one of its most attractive features is the vast selection of media relatingtotheeye.WiththeSchedulerfunction,userscanshowcaseplaylistsofthismediaonan ongoing loop, with the ability to showcase media on certain times of the day, or even days of the week.

How To Use The Scheduler

Thisisthe“Scheduler”.WhenyoufirstopentheScheduler,itdefaultstothecurrentdayoftheweek.Asyoucansee,playlistscanbescheduledathalfhourintervalsthroughouttheday.Thetimeswhereplaylistsareavailablearesetinthe“Preferences”panel.

Scheduling a Playlist

To schedule a playlist, click on a time period within the day of the week you want the playlist displayed.



Thenclick“Add”onthepaneltotheright,ordouble-clicktheselectedtime.

From this menu, you’ll be given the option to select from your existing playlists, generated withintheMediaCenter.Highlightingtheseplaylistsallowsyoutopreviewthemviathumbnailanddescription.Whenyou’vedecidedupontheplaylist,click“AddPlaylist”.Notethateachtime you add a playlist, the times listed change color. The same color time indicates that the same playlist will run in that time slot.

Whenyouarereadytodisplayyourselectedplaylists,click“StartSchedule”.Yourplaylistswillrununtilyouclick“Exit”.

ShouldyouwanttouseyourSchedulersettingsonanotherstation,theycanbeexported/importedviatheLUMAManager.SeetheLUMAManagersectionfordetails.



Media Center

ServingasanindexofallofthemediainEyemaginations LUMA™,TheMediaCenterisaninvaluableresourcewithintheLUMAprogram.

Fromwithinthistool,youcanviewalloftheNarratives(videos),Images,Vignettes,TransitionsandTriviaSlidesthatareavailablewithEyemaginations LUMA™.

TheMediaCentertoolalsoallowsyoutocreateandeditvideoplaylists,aswellasimportyourownmedia,forusewithintheSchedulerandQuicklist.

Browsing Media

ThedifferentmediaavailablewithinLUMAcanbebrowsedinmanyways.TheTileview , seen above, gives users a visual depiction of the different media available within the software. Alternatively,youcanchosetheListview , which provides a listing of the content for faster browsing.

Additionally,youcanfiltermediainavarietyofways.

• The Search Bar: This bar allows you to narrow down the media by your choice of keywords. Typing in a keyword quickly limits the available media to only those based on your search.



• Media Selection Dropdown:Usingthemediaselectiondropdown,youcannarrowthelist of available media that is displayed within the selection pane. The list of media types include:AllAvailable,Playlists,Narratives,Images,TriviaSlides,ImportedMedia,Vendor MediaandHiddenMedia.FormoreonHiddenMedia,see“Previewingmedia”.

Previewing Media

WhileviewingmediawithinLUMA,youmaywanttopreviewitbeforeinsertingitintoyourplaylist.Topreviewmedia,clickthe“Info”icon,whichturnsblueon-highlight: .

Clicking this icon brings up the Title, Description, and Duration of this piece of content, as well as providesavideowindowforpreviewingvideocontent.YoucanquicklyaddthisMediatoyourPlaylistbyclicking“AddtoPlaylist”

OnthisMediaInformationscreen,youcanalsochoosetofilteroutthiscontentfromyoursearchesandavailablelibrarybyclicking“HideAsset”

Creating a Playlist

Playlists allow you to showcase media on an ongoing timeline, and these can be used to inform your patients, or run on a loop using the scheduler.

Hereishowtheyarecreated.

• Withinthemediacenter,selectanarrative,imageortriviaslideandclick“AddtoPlaylist” to create a new Playlist with your chosen media as its first item.

• Thenfindanadditionalpieceofmediaanddouble-clickordragtoaddthistotheplaylist.



• Repeatasnecessaryforasmanyselectionsyouwouldlikedisplayedwithinthisplaylist.

• Clickthe“SaveAs”icon and enter an appropriate Playlist Name for the playlist.

• Theplaylisthasbeencreated.

• Tomakeanewplaylist,clickthe“ClearPlaylist”Icon to start from scratch.

Modifying Existing Playlists

• Addanexistingplaylisttotheplaylistontheright.

• Clickthe“BreakApartPlaylist”Icon to split the playlist into its original contents.

• Ifyouwanttoreorderelementswithinaplaylist,clickontheindividualitemyou’dliketo move and drag and drop the element in its desired location.

• Toremoveanitemfromyourplaylist,highlightthecontentandthenclicktheredxiconto remove it.

• YoucanviewyourplaylistfromwithintheMediaCenterbyclickingthePlaybuttonicon.

• Whenyouarecomplete,clickthe“SaveAs”icon , and choose to either save it underthesamename(overwritingtheolderplaylist)orsaveitunderanewnameforfuture use.

Importing Your Own Media

• ToimportyourownmediaforusewithinEyemaginationsLUMA™,clicktheImportMedia icon . This will bring up a standard Windows Explorer dialogue box which will allow you to locate your chosen media for use in the program.

• Pleasenote,allmediamustbeina.jpg,.pngor.gifformatforstills,orforvideo,a.flvor .mp4format.



Video Playback

When you play back your video content, you have a series of controls available upon mouse-over.

From left to right, you have the ability to pause the video, a controllable timeline of the video playing,increase/decreasevolume,increase/decreasevolume,choosethelanguagefortheaudio, choose the caption language to appear, set the media to loop and full screen controls.

Shouldyouwanttoimport/exportyourCustomMediaorplaylistsfromortoanotherstation,thesesettingscanbeimportedandexportedfromtheLUMAManager.SeetheLUMAManagersection for additional details.



Quick List

For when you need immediate reference information within Eyemaginations LUMA™, choose the Quick List.

ToaccesstheQuickList,click“QuickList”fromtheEyemaginations LUMA™ menu.

UponviewingtheQuickList,youareabletoimmediatelyaccessvideomediabasedonspecificneeds. Each column can be customized based on your practices needs. The customization options can be found within the Preferences section. This is the quickest way to access the video content within Eyemaginations LUMA™.

Clicking each button will immediately bring up the selected media allowing for quick and easy playback.

You can also select the language for audio and captioning by using the drop-down menus at the top right.



Editing The Quick List

•ClickthegearicontoenterthePreferencesmenu.

•Ontheleft,youhavealistofcurrentQuickListcategories.Toaddanewcategory,clicktheplus button at the bottom. To remove a category, click the minus button with your selected column highlighted. To edit the name of a category, simply double click its name.

•Toaddmediatoacategory,highlightitontheleft-handside.Thiswillshowyoualistofcontents for that category in the center. Double click the media on the right to add it to the selectedcategory.Mediacanberearrangedbyclickinganddraggingyourmediatore-order.

•Youcanaddasmuchmediatoeachcategoryandasmanycategoriesasyoulike.



Preferences

ThePreferencessectionallowsusersofEyemaginationsLUMA™tocustomizetheprogramtotheir practice’s specifications. This section is shown upon first installation and is accessible at all timeswithinEyemaginationsLUMA™byclickingthisicon:.

The preferences section is split into a number of categories - one for general program settings, and then a tab for each section of the software. The Preferences view defaults to whatever sectionofthesoftwareyouareusingatthetime.(Ex.Ifyou’reintheScheduler,andclickPreferences,theSchedulertabwillbehighlighted.Themenusyouseewillvaryuponwhichmodules you have purchased for the software.

Program Settings

TheProgramSettingsscreen,seenabove,allowsyoutotypeinthedoctor’sname,sothatitmayappear on the main menu of the program.

This page also displays when you first licensed Eyemaginations LUMA™ for this machine, the license number for the machine in use, and also how many licenses you’re currently using versus your accounts total number of available licenses.

Next is the screen for Exam Advisorsettings.Hereyoucanchoosethepanelorientation(leftorright),defaulttheanatomylabelsasonoroffandcanselectthedefaultanatomyview.



Your third option is that for the Scheduler.Hereyoucannotetheoffice’sopenandclosinghours and the days of the week the practice is open, used when setting your playlists. There is alsoacontroltotherightforthe“ScheduleAutorunAfter”option,whichautomaticallystartsyour schedule after a user-selected amount of inactivity.

AfterthatistheMedia Center,whereyoucanchooseyourviewmode(tilesorlist),yourdefaultviewingcategory,yourdefaultaudio/captioningsettings,auto-hidingoftheMediaPlayerControls, video smoothing and system volume. You can also set the length of time for stills and slides to appear, and set looping media playback.

The fifth option is that for the Quick List. This allows you to customize the categories and their contents.

Last is the Optical Advisor option, where you can choose the panel orientation.

There are no settings for the Hearing Health module.

WhenyouhavefinishedsettingyourPreferences,clickthe“Save&Exit”button.Tocancelanychanges,clickthe“Cancel”button.



Disabling UAC On Windows Vista Or Windows 7

ManytimeswhenloadingprogramswithinWindowsVistaorWindows7,userswillencounterapermissions prompt, like the one seen below:

ThispromptappearsduetoaprocesswithinVistaandWindows7called“UserAccountControl”orUAC.It’sdesignedasasecuritytool,butcanbesafelydisabledbythePC’sadminifdesired.

If you wish to no longer see these prompts, please follow the instructions below.

Pleasenote:disablingUACcanleadtoalesssecuresystem,sofollowtheseinstructionsatyourown risk.

Windows Vista:

1. OpentheControlPanel,andtypein“UAC”intothesearchbox.You’llseealinkfor“Turn UserAccountControl(UAC)onoroff”.

2. Onthenextscreen,unchecktheboxfor“UseUserAccountControl(UAC)”,andthen clickOK.



3. RebootyourPCforthechangestotakeeffect.

Windows 7:

1. Type“UAC”intothestartmenuorControlPanelsearchbox.

2. Clickthelinkfor“ChangeUserAccountControlsettings”.

3. You will now be presented with a screen that has a slider, allowing you to raise or lower thefrequencyofUACprompts.Thetopbeing“Alwaysnotify”andthebottombeing “Nevernotify”.DraggingthisslidertothebottomwillcompletelydisableUAC.



Setting LUMA Scheduler To Automatically Run

AmuchrequestedfeatureforLUMAistheabilitytohaveyourschedulerrunautomatically.Withthe latest revisions to the software, this can very easily be set.

Onceyouhaveyourschedulesetwithinthesoftware,ifyouclickthe“Preferences”iconandnavigatetothe“Scheduler”tab,you’llseeadropdownmenuwhichallowsyoutosettheSchedulertoautomaticallyrunaftersomanyminutesofinactivity.Thiswillworkinallpartsofthesoftware,automaticallystartingyourschedulerwhentheLUMAsoftwarehasbeenleftidle.ForpracticeswhichwanttousetheLUMAsoftwareasawaitingroomloop,thismakestheprocessofrunninganongoingscheduleeveneasier.TohaveLUMAlaunchuponstartupofthecomputer,seetheguidefortheLUMAManager.



Exporting/Importing Playlists

If you’ve created playlists and want to export them for use on other machines, or have already exported those playlists and want to import them on other machines, it’s never been easier withinLUMAthanitisnowwithourExport/ImportUtility.

ToExport,clickthelargegreen“Export”button.Next,youwillbeaskedwhereyouwanttosaveyour“*.luma”file.This.lumafileisacollectionofallofthesesettings,andwerecommendkeeping in a safe location for backup purposes.

Oncetheexporthascompleted,you’llseetheabovescreen.



If you’re attempting an import of a .luma settings file, the process is just as easy. Within the LUMAManager,clickthelargegreen“Import”button.ThiswillbringupthestandardWindowsExplorer screen, allowing you to locate your saved .luma file. Choose the file, and you will then begin the Import process. You will then be asked which content from the .luma file you would like to import, as seen below.

When the import has successfully completed, you will see the above message.
