    WhenyouplacethisDVDvideoplayernearaTV,radio,orVCR,theplaybackpicturemaybecomepoorandthesoundmaybedistorted.Inthiscase,placetheDVDvideoplayerawayfromtheTV,radio,orVCR.

    Moisture condensation damages the DVD videoplayer. Please read the following carefully.Moisture condensation occurs, for example, when youpour a cold drink into a glass on a warm day. Drops ofwater form on the outside of the glass. In the same way,moisture may condense on the optical pick-up lensinside this unit, one of the most crucial internal parts ofthe DVD video player.

    Moisture condensation occurs during thefollowing cases.

    When you bring the DVD video player directly from acold place to a warm place.

    When you use the DVD video player in a room whereyou just turned on the heater, or a place where thecold wind from the air conditioner directly hits the unit.

    In summer, when you use the DVD video player in ahot and humid place just after you move the unit froman air conditioned room.

    When you use the DVD video player in a humid place.

    Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. For stubborn dirt, soak the cloth in a weak detergent

    solution, wring well and wipe. Use a dry cloth to wipeit dry.Do not usa any type of solvent, such as thinner andbenzine, as they may damage the surface of the DVDvideo player.

    If you use a chemical saturated cloth to clean the unit,follow that product's instructions.

    The DVD video player is a hLghtechnology, precisiondevice. If the optical pick-up lens and disc drive partsare dirty or worn down, the picture quality becomespoor. To obtain a clear picture, we recommend regularinspection and maintenance (cleaning or partsreplacement) every 1,OOOhours of use depending onthe operating environment. For details, contact yournearest dealer.

    Do not use the DVD video player when moisturecondensation may occur.

    If you use the DVD video player in such a situation, itmay damage discs and internal parts. Remove thedisc, connect the power cord of the DVD video playerto the wall outlet, turn on the DVD video player, andleave it for two or three hours. After two or threehours, the DVD video player will have warmed up andevaporated any moisture. Keep the DVD video playerconnected to the wall outlet and moisturecondensation will seldom occur.

    Do not attach paper or tape to discs,

    Fingerprints and dust on the disc cause picture andsound deterioration. Wipe the disc from the centeroutwards with a soft cloth. Always keep the discclean.

    O X If you cannot wipe off the dust with a soft cloth, wipe

    the disc lightly with a slightly moistened soft cloth andfinish with a dry cloth.

    Do not use any type of solvent such as thinner,benzine, commercially available cleaners or antistaticspray for vinyl LPs. It may damage the disc.

    Do not store discs in a place subject to direct sunlightor near heat sources.

    Do not store discs in places subject to moisture anddust such as a bathroom or near a humidifier.

    Store discs vertically in a case. Stacking or placingobjects on discs outside of their case may causewarping.

    Normally, DVD video discs are divided into titles, andthe titles are sub-divided into chapters. VIDEO CDs andaudio CDs are divided into tracks.
