Pine’s screen mentor a real deal Up-and-coming Hollywood leading man Christopher Pine learned some lessons from veteran Kevin Costner LOS ANGELES: There’s a scene in Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit where Chris Pine and Kevin Costner are sitting on a park bench in the middle of Moscow. It is a quiet scene in the middle of the action film. When the cameras weren’t rolling in that scene, Costner and Pine remained on the park bench. It was the final scene they shot on the movie. Just like the characters they were playing, Costner, the 58-year-old, two-time Academy Award winner, was offering words of advice to Pine, the 33-year-old who has become one of Hollywood’s top young leading men. ‘‘Moments like that are priceless, Pine said.’’ Pine has had plenty of priceless moments since be- ing the surprise choice in 2009 to star as Captain James T.
