To whom it may concern,

I am writing this cover letter in conjunction with my Resume to apply for an apprenticeship with Infinity Mechanical. My skills, experience and abilities would be an excellent addition to your company.

I am currently working as a Coil Tubing Operator in the oil and gas industry with Essential Energy Services; I have experience working with a variety of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and highly pressurized systems. Performing preventative maintenance, diagnostics and operating a wide variety of industrial equipment. Working in a fast paced, and often-extreme climate; I am required to maintain a high degree of attentiveness and alertness in order to monitor and operate extremely sensitive controls and procedures vital to the overall operations success. Prior to working with Essential Energy Services I have completed over 1200 working hours towards a Machinist Red Seal and I have also completed 2 levels of the Industrial Millwright Program at BCIT (over 1000 working hours). I am very familiar with a wide range of tools used in the plumbing industry. My mechanical, engineering and problem solving abilities are a strong asset, allowing me to observe problems with a systematic and logical approach. I also have experience in the Marine repair industry; repairing all aspects of a vessel, often laying out and constructing various forms of water cleaning, making and cooling systems involving a combination of low and high pressure pumps/filters. I am very flexible, ready and willing to work all hours conducive to the company’s operations

Previous work with the Canadian Forces has taught me the value of organization, hard work, attention to detail, communication (bilingual in both French and English), safety and being able to work well within a structured team environment or independently. Having experience in a leadership position with up to 25-30 subordinates; I understand the challenges involved in a managerial role. Upon developing the necessary technical skills and experience, I would be very interested in a potential management position with Waterline Plumbing Services. My experiences with the Department of National Defense were not limited to outdoor field operations; I have extensive experience as an instructor for the DND’s DRMIS/SAP MASIS project with a focus specifically on Material Management for departmental assets. I addition to instructing, I also provided on site support for the implementation of DRMIS/SAP MASIS at several Canadian Forces Base locations; including CFB Shearwater, CFB Halifax and CFB Trenton. Overseeing the implementation of the DND’s material management inventory system provided me with the opportunity to work in a live, high speed, extremely accurate environment; often being directly responsible for supervising and overseeing the movement of materials in support of international operations.

Sincerely,

Kyle Hanson
