Meeting Requirements Encourages children to make a choice about literacy
tasks. Involves multiple modalities for literacy skills such as
combining traditional activities that use paper, pencil, drama, and graphic arts.
Activities are differentiated so that all students can do the activities.
Provide opportunities for children to participate in collaborative and independent reading and writing.
Provide time for students to role-play, use puppets, and retell their stories. (Share writing with peers and discuss each others work.)
Write in a wide range of genres, such as poems and stories, functional texts, digital texts narrative texts, and expository texts.
