REPORT

The responsibility of KVS Social Science cum National Integration Camp was bestowed on Agra Region. Venue for Exhibition was Kendriya Vidyalaya No.2, Gwalior in which 25 regions participated with their allotted countries and states exhibits.

The Exhibition was inaugurated by H’ble Additional Commissioner Sh. G. K.Shrivastava on 10.12.2013.

REGION WISE BRIEF REPORT

AGRA REGION (CODE-A)

TOPIC: AFGHANISTAN AND WEST BENGAL

The pivotal point of Agra region was the exceptional and unique wildlife corner of Afghanistan prepared

by KV-2 Gwalior.

The main attraction of the exhibition was Wildlife corner of Afghanistan which consisted of a grand

Leopard Gecko Lizard prepared by Shashank Mishra, student of KV-2, Gwalior. An Afghani Hound and

Hedgehogof Afghanistan were also exhibited in the desert area constructed of sand, stones, cardboards,

waste materials etc.A corner was also prepared to show the Bengali art and culture.

All the aspects of the dominating Bengali culture were magnificently manifested in a small corner of the

exhibition. Working models on Durgapur Steel Plant, Darjeeling etc. were also constructed along with the

exhibits of eminent personalities of Afghanistan and West Bengal. The presentation and the

demonstration given by Mas GopeshJha, KV1 Jhansi and Ku Athira , KV2 Gwalior were the feather in the

cap. The judges, officials and the visitors were mesmerized by the performance of the students and the

overall presentation.

AHEMDABAD REGION (CODE-B)

TOPIC: ITALY AND TAMILNADU

The main attraction was various charts and write-ups on Bharatnatyam , the classical dance of

TamilNadu.An informative file on historical culture and economic aspects of Tamil Nadu were also

presented in a systematic form.Pissa Tower of Italy was colorfully shown on a chart paper.

BANGALURU REGION (CODE-C)

TOPIC: TURKEY AND UTTAR PRADESH

A colorful entry-gate of Bangaluru Region was splendidly exhibited which was prepared by cardboards

paper and colours.One of the attractive features was the “Turkey at a Glance” showing the various

political, historical and cultural aspects.With the use of paper cuttings, coloursetc. various arts and crafts

of U.P. were depicted through models and files.

BHOPAL REGION (CODE-D)

TOPIC: SRI LANKA AND KARNATAKA

A grand album was prepared by the students of Bhopal Region on the cultural aspect of Karnataka with the

use of paper cuttings, coloured papers, waste material and bindings.

BHUBNESWAR REGION (CODE-E)

TOPIC: DENMARK AND ANDAMAN & NICOBAR ISLAND

The point of attraction was the tribal , art and craft and different food forms of Andaman & Nicobar Islands in the form of a project file. The agricultural and industrial aspect was also seen in the exhibition room in various forms.

CHANDIGARH REGION (CODE-F)

TOPIC: GUJRAT AND RUSSIA

Main attractions were the beautiful temple of Gujrat, handicrafts and traditional dresses of Gujarat and

the coins & arms of Russia.The exhibits were prepared with the use of golden & black paper, photo

cuttings, cloth & waste material.

CHENNAI REGION (CODE-G)

TOPIC: MIZORAM AND SPAIN

All the political, physical, economic & cultural aspects of Spain were beautifully depicted in the form of a

big lotus made of paper. The album on Spain was also systematically presented covering all the

information of Spain.

DEHRADUN REGION (CODE-H)

TOPIC: JAPAN AND ARUNACHAL PRADESH

A map of Japan &Arunachal Pradesh was made in such a way that both the country and state could be

seen simultaneously. The Mural Art of Arunachal Pradesh was also made with the help of play board

golden colour.

DELHI REGION (CODE-I)

TOPIC: KERALA AND EGYPT

A grand album of Kerala was made with the help of paper cuttings & plastic material along with a picture

of ABU SIMBEL.

ERNAKULAM REGION (CODE-J)

TOPIC: SWITZERLAND AND RAJASTHAN

A scrap book was made of Switzerland covering cultural , traditional background of the country. Some

charts were displayed depicting Rajasthan culture.

GUWAHATI REGION (CODE-K)

TOPIC: GOA AND CANADA

An album was made depicting Canada at a Glance. Different other albums were also made showing the

food and culture of Goa.

HYDERABAD REGION (CODE-L)

TOPIC: PUNJAB AND POLAND

The famous dance of Punjab “Bhangra” along with the traditional dress of Punjabi’s were shown in the

form of models.

JABALPUR REGION (CODE-M)

TOPIC: ASSAM AND FRANCE

An album of Katni was made showing the different food habits of the natives with the help of paper

cuttings, photos and craft papers.

JAIPUR REGION (CODE-N)

TOPIC: JHARKHAND AND NEWZEALAND

Students Mas.Vaibhav Sharma and KmAshima represented the logos of New Zealand. It was depicted on a

card board along with the demography of New Zealand.

JAMMU REGION (CODE-O)

TOPIC: ANDHRA PRADESH AND BRAZIL

Various maps of Andhra Pradesh were made depicting the culture and tradition of the state.

Different models of Brazil were also made in the form of Album.

KOLKATA REGION (CODE-P)

TOPIC: MAHARASHTRA AND PORTGAL

The historical and geographical aspects were shown in the form of maps. The cultural aspects were shown

in the form of Album.

The rich culture aspect of Maharashtra was also shown on maps and albums.

LUCKNOW REGION (CODE-Q)

TOPIC: TRIPURA AND UNITED KINGDOM

The pivotal point was an album of Tripura, coins of United Kingdom and photography of Queen Elizabeth

made of coloured papers, waste material, grains, and paper cuttings.

MUMBAI REGION (CODE-R)

TOPIC: BIHAR AND MEXICO

The Exhibition of Mumbai Region attracted the visitors basically on the Silk Route, Mexican football

players, and fusion of traditions made with the help of paper, bell and cloth.

PATNA REGION (CODE-S)

TOPIC: LAKSHADWEEP AND IRAN

TheparticipantSahil Raj beautifully explained the food and security system of Lakshadweep island in the

modular form.

RAIPUR REGION (CODE-T)

TOPIC: SIKKIM AND INDONESIA

The main attraction was incredible Sikkim giving total description of Sikkim and Indonesia in the form of

Albums and Charts, made with the help of paper cuttings, craft paper, waste material etc.

RANCHI REGION (CODE-U)

TOPIC: JAMMU & KASHMIR AND USA

A beautiful picture of Himachal Pradesh was made in the form of coverings and shade cards, covering

different aspects of the states.

SILCHAR REGION (CODE-V)

TOPIC: DADAR & NAGAR HAVELI AND GERMANY

A magnificent album of DADAR& NAGAR HAVELI was made in Volume I and similarly another Volume-II

of Album was made for Germany.

SIRSA REGION (CODE- W)

TOPIC: ODISHA & MYANMAR

The main attraction was an album of Disaster Management and tourism Industries made of waste paper ,

coloured papers cuttings.

TINSUKIA REGION (CODE- X)

TOPIC: CHHATISGARH AND AUSTRALIA

An album of Chhattisgarh was prepared showing different aspects of the state. Main attraction was

disaster management and tourism in India.

VARANASI REGION (CODE Y)

TOPIC: MEGHALAYA AND CHINA

Different pictures of economic depression, food security, Ganges flood etc. were shown in the form of album, charts and scrap books.

Exhibition is the major activity in the field of social science exhibition in

KVS. 25 Regions displayed their allotted countries and states. Models ,

Charts, Files etc were displayed in the exhibition.

I Position – Agra Region

Topic : Afghanistan

The main attraction of the exhibition was wildlife corner of Afghanistan which was prepared by Mas Shashankand team of students named Mas Chandan, Mas Hardik, Mas Kartik , Mas Satyasheel, Mas Avneesh etc. under the guidance of Principal, Ms Rekha Saxena. It was constructed with low costwaste material, packing thermo Cole sheets and cardboards. Leopard Geoko Lizard was the main attraction. An Afghani Hound and Hedgehog of Afghanistan found in desert area werealso the part of it.

II Position – Mumbai Region

Topic :Mexico

The Exhibition of Mumbai Region represented by Mas. KiranPillai and Ku.Hinaguided by the History

Teacher. Routes were tracked by net from Eastern Asia to Western Asia till Arabian countries made by

paper and clothes.

III Position – Lucknow Region

Topic : United Kingdom

The pivotal point was coins of United Kingdom and photography of Queen Elizabeth . Mas AdityaDwivedi

represented the models which were made from coloured papers, waste material, grains and paper

cuttings.

I Position – Agra Region

Topic :West Bengal

The main attraction of the exhibition was of West Bengal which was prepared under the guidance of Principal, Ms Rekha Saxena. It consists of models related to craft & cultural work, dresses, traditions were displayed under the guidance of MrsArtiYadav , TGT(SSt).

II Position – Chandigarh Region

Topic :Gujarat

The Exhibition of Chandigarh Region represented Temple of Gujarat & Handicrafts. Different traditional

dress worn by Gujarat like ChaniyaCholietc were displayed with traditional embroidery.

III Position – Bengaluru Region

Topic :Uttar Pradesh

Art & Craft of Uttar Pradesh were displayed.Manuscript, colorful Calenders,wallpaintingsetc were

presented by M. Ila Bhatt and ShivaniShanmugam.

National Social Science Exhibition Cum Integration Camp 2013-14 is one of the main activities

of KVS in the field of nation building and innovation work by the students. It develops team

spirit, tolerance, leadership, imagination and creativity among the students.

In addition to these activities KVS have introduced Project Work leaving behind the traditional

event in which children participate physically in survey activities, data collection, visiting

Historical Places and Interview Activities together useful information.

Agra region was given the responsibilities of executing Social Science Exhibition Cum

Integration Camp 2013-14, 25 regions throughout the Country participated in the Exhibition.

For all round development of the students different themes were selected for different areas.

The themes were –

Silk Route

Food Security

Tourism Industry

Disaster Management

Economic Depression

Public Distribution System etc.

The results were as follows:-

1. First position - Lucknow region – project on Silk Route & Tourism.

Participants – Deepak, Sakshi&Indranil of Class X-B of KV No.3, Kanpur (UP).

2. Second position – Agra region – Project on Travel & Tourism.

Participants – 9 students of class X-C of KV No.2, Gwalior under the guidance of Mr K K

Sharma PGT(Geo), Ms Ratnam Mishra PGT(Eco), Mr A K Mishra PGT(Hist), Mrs Arti

Yadav TGT(SSt), Mr Satyendra TGT(SSt)Contractual Teacher .

3. Third Position – Chandigarh Region – Project on Disaster Management.

Participants – Shivani, Amit, Aditi& Prince etc. of KV Simla.
