Key points to note when applying for JAE
3 IMPORTANT POINTS TO NOTE:
1. You should consider your course choices wisely.
• You are posted to a course based on meritaccording to your net aggregate scores (i.e. net L1R5 for JC course, net L1R4 for MI course, net ELR2B2 for Polytechnics courses and net ELB4/ELR1B3/ELR2B2 for ITE courses).
• Hence, you should consider courses that arecomparable to your aggregate scores:
- for better fit
&
- better chances of being accepted.
Key points to note when applying for JAE
2. You should make full use of your 12 choices, where applicable.
•It is not advisable for you to only make a few course choices.
•If your are unsuccessful in getting a place in any of your registered
choices, you will be posted to a course with remaining
vacancies after all the others are being posted according to their
registered choices.
Key points to note when applying for JAE
• 3. You should indicate at least 2-3 courseswhere aggregate scores are much better thanthe previous year’s course cut-off points(COP), so that you will stand a better chanceof being accepted in one of your coursechoices.
Key points to note when applying for JAE
Whilst appeals for a transfer to another JC can be doneafter the JAE posting results are released, studentsshould note that their appeals are not likely to besuccessful unless they meet the COP of the JC coursefor that year’s JAE.
If a student does not meet the COP of the JC course andwish to appeal for a transfer due to serious medicalconditions, the student can submit an appeal to MOE forconsideration.
