Life at our beloved Vlakteplaas School
in the Klein Karoo
is like life anywhere on earth…
we work and we study
we run and we play
we sing and we laugh,
we try the impossible and fail
we try again and succeed
we dance with joy because we won
we cry because our heart is broken
yet life goes on
because it has to go on…

A Special Message…

Jarmaine Jumats (Kiewiet)
and his father Johannes Jansen
died together in a flaming hell
as their humble home burnt to ruin
the night of March the 24th.
We mourn a Father and his Son…
Kiewiet se moeder is dood toe hy drie
maande oud was.
Hy en sy vader Johannes het die lewe
alleen bewandel, en alleen, saam gesterf.
Kiewiet was van dag een gelief in ons skool,
sy glimlaggie, sy nederigheid, sy dankbaarheid
sal ons altyd, altyd onthou!
Trane het saam met ysige reën oor
hartseergesiggies gedrup
toe sy klasmaats op ‘n grysgroue
dag, hy en sy pa se kis
met hulle verkoolde lyke graftoe
gedra het.
Ons sal Kiewiet nooit vergeet…

Kiewiet se maatjies het een
vir een briefies van liefde,
saam met handjiesvol
grond in die graf gegooi…
Ons skool se spesiale Fiesta TV Kersprogram
is sewekeer tydens die Kersweek landwyd gebeeldsend.
Sowat 3 miljoen kykers se harte is geraak,
honderde boodskappe van geluk het ingestroom.
Vrydagaand 19 April het die ATKV - Suid-Afrika se
voorste Kultuurorganisasie - kykNET se Fiesta “Krismis
in die Klein Karoo” bekroon as die Beste TV Joernaal-
program van 2012....for bringing such a great honor to us
with our school’s special Christmas program
by winning the prestigious award “Best TV
Journal program of 2012”
