Here we go again
Criterias of a suitable place for the hive are an up structure to hang and the proximity of resources.
Bees construct the hive shape by shape with their wax, and begin to hold resources (pollens, nectar)
If the hive is whealthy enough, the bees will extend it creating new shape or enlarging existing ones.
The hive is too prosperous one queen will fly away with the half of bees to establish a new hive.
The hives share the territory and the cycle begins again, development is now faster.
explorationsbee’s social behaviour
What is the recieve of bee community?
By sharing common place
(security through proximity)
Complex and strong way to communicate
(Waggle dance)(focused on resources)
Each individual has its place and is a part of the community
Social mechanism for the bee’s survival - COMMON GOAL
Very strong organization with differnents roles
(queen, nurse, work, guardian)
Compromise between individual work (self contribution - search for food) and social time (sharing honey)
hive organization explorations
Hive’s organic form - large scaleHive’s geometric form - short scale
HoneycombsSandwiches
Shapeorganization
Structural rigidity
Used against swinging
Support well compression
Variations of intensity of the constructed system permit lot of permeability
Despite a geometric short scale arrangement large scale is fluent and more organic
Hive is organized in parallel honeycombs. Between them an empty space (access to the cells, air flows)
Hexagon as optimization of resources and space
Individual modules making the all. Housing modules are the pieces of structure of the hive (volume + structural features)
bee’s resources management
The hive’s territorial ressources - identities as project materials
Historic roads
Morphology
Dry summers
Two roads, two architectural influences
Transversal dominance (creek) Rainwater management fails sometimes (floods)
Yellow meadows and reccurent fires (attitude’s influences as pumps, reservoirs)
