Built-in Web ConfigurationThewebconfigurationpageisaccessiblethroughanybrowser.ItcanbeusedtoverifyandconfiguretheIPsettingsoftheKT-400.Forenhancedsecurity,oncetheKT-400isconfigured,thewebconfigurationpagecannolongerbeaccessed.TheKT-400canberesettofactorydefaultinthecaseofaconfigurationerrorandthewebconfigurationpagewillonceagainbeaccessible.
Occupancy Level ControlsKT-400supportsoccupancyrestrictionsforfourlocalareasatthecontrollerlevelwiththeanti-passbackfeature.Thisfeatureallowstheoperatortodefineaparticularareathatmayhavecapacitylimitations,suchasanauditorium,conferenceroom,orlaboratory.TheKT-400canbeconfiguredtolimittheamountofpeoplepermittedintothisarea.Oncethelimithasbeenreached,noadditionalpersonnelwillbeallowedtoenterthedefinedlocation.Thispreventsovercrowdingorviolationofcapacityregulations.
Low Bandwidth ConsumptionTheEntraPasssoftwaremonitorseventsoccurringatthedoorsbypollingtheKT-400doorcontrollers.TheEntraPassMulti-SiteGatewayonlycommunicateswiththeKT-400ifaneventhasoccurred.CommunicationintegrityisensuredthroughaheartbeatsignalwhichissentatregularintervalstotheEntraPasssystem.Thisasynchronouscommunicationsignificantlyreducestheamountofbandwidthrequiredtomanagetheaccesscontrolsystemoverthenetwork.IfthereisacommunicationfailurebetweenEntraPassandtheKT-400,analarmwillbetriggeredintheEntraPasssystem.
Supervised Lock PowerThereare4superviseddoorlockoutputswithaninternalpowersupply(12VDC).Inaddition,anexternalpowersupply(12VDC–24VDC)mayalsobeusedtoprovidepowertothelockoutputs.Thiseliminatestheneedforadditionalrelays.ThelockoutputswillstillbesupervisedbytheKT-400.
Multiple Communication PortsKT-400providesmultiplecontrollerconfigurationstosuityourspecificaccesscontrolneeds.TheseconfigurationsprovidecommunicationwiththeEntraPassGateway.Youcanchooseanyofthefollowingoptions:

• RS-485(COM1)usingaUSBtoRS-485converter
• RS-232(COM3)fordirectconnection
Configurable Reader OutputsThereare4differentpossibleoutputsforeachofthe4onboardreaderinterfacesforatotalof16programmableoutputs.Readeroutputsareusedtoprovidetheuserwithvisual(LEDs)and/oraudible(buzzer)feedbackonaccesscontrolevents.
End-of-Line ResistorsTheKT-400hasanonboardcapabilityofmonitoring16inputzones(expandabletomaximum256zoneswiththeadditionofexpansionmodules).Itcansupportamaximumof128inputsusingdoubleend-of-line(EOL)resistorsor256inputsusingnoneorsingleEOLresistors.Thisallowsthesystemtomonitormorestatesassociatedwithacustomer’sinstallation,significantlyincreasingthelevelofsecurity.
Alarm Panel IntegrationDSCPowerSeriesorMAXSYSalarmpaneldataintegrationcanbeaccomplishedbyconnectingittotheKT-400controller.UsingtheKT-400;EntraPassSpecial,CorporateorGlobalEditionsareabletoreceiveintrusionevents,viewthestatusofzonesandpartitions,andprogramusers’code.Inadditionthesystemcanbearmed/disarmed(singleormultiplepartitions)viathereaderormanualoperationfromtheworkstation.
