ECI Forum conducted an event 'Beyond the Black
Board' on 11th August, 2016 in the campus. The event
was organized to introduce the faculty members of
Department of ECE and their respective area of
research to the S3 B.Tech. and S1 M.Tech. students.
An interactive session was delivered by Dr. K.
Pathak on ‘Scopes of Transdisciplinary
R&D Activities for Mining Industry and Possible
Sources of Funds’ on 19th August 2016. Dr. K.
Pathak (HOD, Mining Engineering, IIT
Kharagpur and Independent Director of Coal
India Limited) holds wide experience in the
mining sector of different countries of the world
and Indian lignite, coal and Iron ore mining. He
talked about few of the areas in Indian mining
industry. The session included Indian mining
industry contribution to Indian economy and
development in various ways. There are number
of research funding possibilities in India.
However, placing our expertise of various fields
into an industrial problem solving does not
take place always. The industry-
Academic interactions are talked about, but very
few innovative applications have developed over
the years. With the new thrust of the Nation in
“Make in India” it is necessary that industry
experts bring industrial problems to the scientific
and academic experts to evolve solutions. The
session was organized by Dr. N. S. Murty at
Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru.
Dr. T. K. Ramesh, Dr. Navin Kumar, Mr. C. V.
Giriraja, Mr. C. Babu, Mr. P. Satishkumar and
Mr. Sagar B. from Department of ECE attended
the “50th Anniversary Celebrations of the IEEE
Region Ten or R10” on 24th August, 2016 at The
Lalit Ashok, Bengaluru. The IEEE Region Ten,
also known as Asia-Pacific Region, which led to
the formation of R10 on 1st January, 1967.
Dr. N. S. Murty arranged a workshop titled “SV based UVM basics and its prospects” on 31st
August, 2016 at Amrita School of Engineering,
Bengaluru. The workshop was conducted by
