Kororo Public School Hello Everyone! Now the winter weather has arrived please make sure student s jumpers and jackets are clearly labelled. Kororo Public School has always taken pride in how our families prepare students for school. Our Uniform Shop is opened Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:45am to 9am if you need to purchase items for the winter weather. Pick Up On Korora School Road Reminder If you are using Korora School Road for afternoon pick up can you please follow directions of staff and road rules as we do not want a tragic incident in this area. It is a very busy place at 3:10pm. You cannot park on the left hand side along the fence line and/or get out of your car. If you are early before 3.10pm, you will need to do a lap or find a legal car park and come in and pick up your child/children. The traffic banks up onto the highway if you park in this area and it is visually hard to see traffic for people to cross the road at the pedestrian crossing. You should also not attempt to overtake cars on the pedestrian crossing at this time of day as our students are not very tall and they cannot see over vehicles. Police will be frequenting the area to assist and you could be fined heavily with loss of points. We value our students and familys safety. Thank you to those who are using this area safely. Waterwise The Waterwise program was conducted this week for K-6 students. We are a Waterwise school and the students participated in a refresher lesson this week. The Waterwise Schools programme aims to educate not only students, but also their families and the wider community. It is hoped that, through Waterwise Schools, students will adopt environmentally responsible behaviour towards the use of our water so that now, and in the future, they become advocates and spokespeople for sustainable water usage habits. Professional Development Today Kororo Public School hosted a Professional Development Day for 3 classroom teachers in the Coffs Harbour area on how to use the Seesaw app and how to smash other apps as a tools to enhance students learning. Our staff are continually deepening their knowledge of how to use technology to engage students in learning and to prepare them for future learning. Last Tuesday evening our whole staff, teachers, SLSOs and Office personal attended Twilight Professional Development at Coffs Harbour Public School. Staff engaged in professional learning with 4 other local schools and shared their knowledge and understanding in varied topics. Mr Portelli was one of the presenters on the night and he did a wonderful session on how to use Lego robotics in the classroom. We are so proud to have expert teachers at Kororo who are willing to share and learn to improve student outcomes. Please keep an eye out for the newsletter survey coming on the Skoolbag app. We hope that you will take part in this very small survey. Have a wonderful week! Hello Everyone!

Now the winter weather has arrived please make sure student’s jumpers and jackets are clearly labelled. Kororo Public School has always taken pride in how our families prepare students for school. Our Uniform Shop is opened Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:45am to 9am if you need to purchase items for the winter weather.

Congratulations to all our long distant runners who participated in the PSSA Mid North Coast Cross Country carnival held at Nana Glen last Friday. They are certainly a very fit group of young runners. Resulting from this we have students who will now participate in the PSSA Far North Coast Cross Country Carnival which will be held at Nana Glen on the 21st June. The students competing at this elite level are Jada G, Aaliyah P, Hayden C, Titan B and Blake M.

On Monday, I had the pleasure of attending the annual Coffs Harbour School Choir Eisteddfod. The schools all produce different and entertaining items. I want to congratulate Mrs Oliver and the students from Years 3 and 4 that were in the Kororo School Choir. I was very proud of each student as they sang beautifully and were against choirs comprising students from Years 3 to 6. Both the children and Mrs Oliver need to be commended for their dedication to learning and rehearsing for this event. It is a great opportunity that all the children will remember into their adult years.
