Introduction

Possessive Nouns

• A noun that shows who owns, or possesses, something is called a possessive noun.

• There are several rules we use to write possessive nouns correctly.

Add apostrophe and an –s to a singular noun to

make it possessive.• the paw that belongs to the

dog• the dog’s’s paw

• A possessive noun is a noun that shows ownership.

• To form the possessive of a singular noun, add an apostrophe and –s (‘s).
