The third edition of Kolkata Jewellery & Gem Fair joint organized by Calcutta Gem & Jewellery Welfare Association and UBM India is slated for 8-10 April, 2016 at Milan Mela Exhibition Complex, Kolkata and is expected to draw over 8000 trade buyers from across the country especially east India and neighbouring countries of South East Asia. The end consumers love for Kolkata handcrafted jewellery is a known fact in the Indian jewellery industry and a testimony to the same is the tremendous response that Kolkata Jewellery & Gem Fair has received in the previous two editions. Witnessing the editions gone by, industry stalwarts now hold Kolkata Jewellery & Gem Fair in high regards and its a calendar event for them.

Coinciding with the start of the festive season, the Kolkata Jewellery & Gem Fair is rightly placed in the month of April. The show is aptly timed before the buying season of Akshay Tritiya, Bengali New Year and the wedding season. The Kolkata Jewellery & Gem Fair is poised to be the biggest amongst its predecessors both in terms of the show size and visitor numbers. KJGF’15 organised by UBM India is the biggest and most important B2B jewellery expo of East India. Recognising the finest jewellery karigarsOne of the most coveted jewellery awards for the trade – The Golden Hand Awards will again prove to be the perfect talent recognition platform for the jewellery artisans of West Bengal. Unveiled in 2014, the Golden Hand Awards is now in its third edition and will invite entries from karigars from across the state. The awards is judged by industry veterans who along with a sharp eye for jewellery trends, bring in decades of experience in identifying artistic brilliance in jewellery making. The finished product by the artisans would be judged on the basis of Originality, Creativity, Innovation, Neatness and Overall Presentation.

Golden Hand Awards started off with one category and three winners in 2014, the awards then split into two categories with a total of six winners in 2015 owing to the huge response from the industry. This unique platform is very significant which industry acclaimed and they have given their complete support to this award.
