Below you will find information on what plastics you can recycle in your mixed recycling bin, along with cardboard, cartons, glass, tins, cans, aerosols and clean foil.
In your mixed recycling bin at home The following plastics cannot be recycledPlease put them into your purple bin
Polystyrene, fruit nets, bubble wrap and blister packs
(e.g paracetamol packets)
Crisps, sweet and biscuit wrappers, pet food pouches
and plastic film
Carrier bags
Don’t forget to also recycle cardboard, cartons, glass, cans, aerosols and clean foil!
Please don’t put plastic carrier bags
into your mixed recycling bin. Most local supermarkets
offer plastic bag recycling facilities.

Why not? Putting these types of plastics in the recycling can cause problems with the machinery at the recycling centre. This might mean that all the recycling can’t be recycled and will end up in landfill.
You can recycle the following plastics and moreat your local Household Waste Recycling Centre
We collect textiles from your kerbside. This includes all clothing, paired shoes, handbags,
bed linen, curtains and towels, but NOT duvets and pillows. Please place your textiles in plastic bags (not black bags)
tied up at the side of your mixed recycling bin.
