Our Company

As a medium sized private company founded in 1860, we have manufactured external fi ngs, cylinders, keys, complete locking systems and the various accessories required by the commercial motor vehicle industry for 150 years. We develop and produce innova ve locking systems for the off highway industry at home and abroad.

Core competence

From the concep on of an idea in our development department, to the construc on of the product, the building of the tools up to the complete manufacturing of the product, we have the capability to do everything. With our own bending, shaping and punching department, key milling, zinc die‐cas ng, plas c moulding department with gas internal pressure technology and an assembly department for all products, we have the en re capability for realising locking systems within our own company.

Interna onal organisa on

Our head office and development centre, as well as our produc on, is based in Germany. The globaliza on of our markets has shown that interna onal presence, with the coopera on of partners in various countries, is the best way to meet the requirements of our customers. At the beginning of 2009 we founded a daughter company in the USA and in the near future plan to start produc on there.

Recently we received the ”Ökoprofit Award” which for us is the first important step on the way to DIN EN ISO 14001 cer fica on. We believe as a company that it is our obliga on not to waste environmental resources and endeavour to make a posi ve contribu on. In 2008, as evidence of our commitment, we saved up to 200,000 KW/H and 51 tons of carbon monoxide emissions.

LOCKS

With door, cabin, hood and flap / panel locks as well as door hold backs, the decision of which to use depends on the individual requirements and applica ons. We differen ate the respec ve applica ons beforehand in order to decide on a suitable product according to your specifica on. You can be assured that our products meet the highest demands. Due to the high number of product varia ons, we believe that we have a solu on for your individual applica on. Should this not be the case we can develop a solu on that fits your needs.

Our locks are usually used with middle to heavy doors, flaps / panels, windows or hoods. Naturally we can meet the highest quality demands also on smaller applica ons, if required by the customer. Our locks are tested under extreme loads and meet all the standards that are necessary for vehicle door applica ons. With most locks we meet the transverse and longitudinal load standards required in the automo ve world. We are well above the level required in the off‐highway industry, and with many varia ons of this type of lock we even fulfil the requirements within the range of a 30G load.

Our locks are very durable products. We test their longevity according to our standards developed specifically for this industry. Therefore we can assure you that most of our locks are capable for 100,000 cycles. If you wish, we can perform various tests on your individual applica on to ensure that we meet the needs of you and your customer. We offer our locks in many varia ons. Although we already have many varia ons in our standard program, the number of varia ons permanently increases, because we can adapt a lock to meet the customer requirement and will not offer a standard product when it makes no sense. If you wish, we can provide you with a complete locking system in combina on with the external fi ng of your choice with remote control. We offer this op on in either 12 or 24 volt.

We also offer all of the necessary accessories for your applica on including internal releases, locking bolts, moun ng screws, plas c covers and even a rectangular or round tube according to your measurement needs. These tubes include an integrated internal release which can be placed to meet the customer’s requirements. In addi on, we offer varia ons with luxurious foaming and integrated armrests.

If you use our locks in a flap / panel, window, hood or door hold open/back applica on, you can receive these products also without preposi on rotors within the turning trap range. For par cularly high demanding requirements we offer our double rotor locks also with an fricor coa ng added to the rotors and pawls. This coa ng has the advantage that it is grease free that means low maintenance and, in extreme door load situa ons, only requires small release strength. Furthermore, we offer a choice of different rotor varia ons which differ in the closing pin diameter and provide tolerance compensa on in terms of +/‐2 mm.

5002, 5003 & 5004 Series

Our cabin locks of the 5002 and 5003 series are developed in a box principle so that we achieve high basic stability in the structure without consuming a large installa on space. Therefore, these products are suitable for use in cab doors, but also in hoods and flaps / panels. Our locks of the 5004 series are characterised by a slimmer construc on but also meet a demanding load capability, however the cost principle is the centre of our a en on and therefore the box principle is not pursued. Choose from 17 different versions to meet your specific needs. The 5004 lock type can be equipped with safety device.

5007 Series (Sliding door lock)

Our new sliding door lock is a very robust and low‐fric on lock. With mul ple levers we can use the sliding door lock universally without crea ng further ar cle numbers. It is a very robust system that is currently used for different vehicle manufacturers in new vehicle concepts. In combina on with our handle from the 4714 series, and our inner actuator of the 5007 series, we can offer a very coordinated system for modern vehicle door concepts and designs.

5100 Series

5101 Series

Our locks of the 5101 series are robust and very ergonomic due to the connec on of the tubing. Our 5101 lock series with rectangular tubes are well known and, as the adjacent table shows, there are many varia ons or tube lengths available as standard. These locks can be equipped with or without internal safety device. Furthermore we can provide round tubes, which provide greater flexibility for design of the tubes and the posi oning of the interior release handle.

As you can see from the sample pictures, you can obtain this lock series also without tube to implement a direct release to the lock or link your own round tube.

There are now over 90 varia ons of this series and more are always being added!

Many of our varia ons of this lock type comply with standards for road users (FMVSS206 / SAE J839 / ECE R11) as a complete system with other DLP products. Our double rotor locks of the 5200 family are very durable. We test this longevity according to our standards developed specifically for this industry. Therefore, we can assure you that these locks are designed for 100,000 cycles and more (at a counter pressure of 350 N). If you wish, we can perform various tests on your individual applica on to ensure that we meet the needs of you and your customer. For several years, we have supplied our double rotor locks (with and without round tube connec on) to many customers in a version with remote control. You can obtain our double rotor locks with contact switches that maintain a lockout protec on capability in connec on with the remote control. In addi on, our remote control guarantees a mechanical emergency release in the event of a power failure. Of course our components can be combined with a central locking system (in 12 or 24 volt).


5201 Series

Our double rotor locks with round pipe connec on can be equipped with a fully integrated interior release handle which can be op mally posi oned for your applica on. We can supply the interior release handle in different varia ons depending on your need (more on this on page 57). Of course we can also provide various plas c covers, which harmoniously complete the assembly group. Our foamed tube versions with integrated armrest are increasingly popular in some luxury varia ons. There are almost no design limits with round tubes which are 25 mm in diameter. You can also use your own tubing and integrate our products provided. We can provide you with the appropriate lock with the correct links to your pipe including interior release handle and connec ng rod or Bowden cable. Of course, this lock type also meets the standard for road users (FMVSS206 / SAE J839 / ECE R11) as a complete system in combina on with other DLP products. 5005 Series

Our extremely robust locks of the 5005 series are for medium and heavy doors or hoods and are available in right and le hand version without security device. These locks can be supplied with a Cr6 free surface and therefore meet the requirements of the 2002/95/EC (RoHS) standard or alterna vely with a special surface protec on which guarantees a 400 to 500 hours salt spray resistance.

It is a tried and tested lock concept that can resist high loads (100,000 cycles). Opening of the lock requires very low release forces also in case of high counter pressures. The lock is operated from the inside via a remote trigger. In conjunc on with our 4713 series handle, you have a proven concept as used in a very similar way within the automo ve industry. Of course you can also obtain this lock as a typical door look with internal safety device, lockout protec on (61.5005.0101) and striker pin bolt with guidance wedge.

5006 Series

Our extremely robust hood lock of the 5006 series can be used in all hood types but only in a complete system with the locking pin 44.5006.1001. At high loads, it is dis nguished by its durability. The lock is operated from the inside via a remote trigger. These locks can be supplied with a Cr6 free surface and therefore meet the requirements of the 2002/95/EC (RoHS) standard or alterna vely with a special surface protec on which guarantees a 400 to 500 hours salt spray resistance.

This closing system is a proven concept which is also used within the automobile industry.

5035 Series

Our locks of the 5035 series are specifically developed for the side flaps / panels of combine harves ng and baling machines. They meet the requirement of the ISO/TS 28923 standard. No addi onal opening mechanisms, such as handles or knobs, are required for the release of these products from the outside. You can unlock these locks with a tool or a coin. The US‐varia ons of these locks are available also with addi onal release knob. Of course, these locks are suitable for other flaps / panels, hoods or service hatches too. Locks of this series do not have a preposi on in the turning trap range so that they are not suitable for use in doors.

5036 Series

Our trap lock of the 5036 series is used in hoods, flaps / panels or service hatches. By using large sec ons of material, steel‘s best quali es are characterised by extreme stability. This lock series is excellent for installing into difficult posi ons because it requires li le installa on space. The adjustment of these locks is facilitated by moun ng slots. Release of the locks can be done externally by our bu ons, handles or, as some customers do, by a simple opening in their flap / panel, so that a simple release via thumb is possible. Some varia ons have a bracket guide in the lock plate so that tolerance vulnerable or unstable applica ons can be safely guided into the lock. In conjunc on with our handle series 4706 or 4709 we can provide a very compact and robust system.

5039 Series

Our hood and flap / panel locks of the 5039 series are o en copied, but only DLP manufactures the original in all its varia ons.

The locks of the 5039 series are extremely robust single rotor locks for demanding applica ons. With this product you can choose from different rotor latches and surface coa ngs. We can define the lock depending on your individual applica on. At the rotor latches we offer a possible capture diameter for striker or U‐bolt striker in 8 mm. 12 mm or 22 mm.

Small installa on dimensions allow building these locks into the ghtest of applica ons. In the agribusiness you find this type of lock in almost each tractor hood. For many years John Deere, Fendt and many other manufacturers build these products into their hoods. Also for this lock type we offer many varia ons characterized by their different release levers or rotor latches.

This lock combines quality at the highest level and offers robustness and stability at a very a rac ve price. Not least for this reason this lock is used by many OEM‘s and in most cases can replace alterna ve heavy and expensive products.

In the construc on machinery and industrial vehicle market renowned manufacturers such as Caterpillar, CLAAS, CNH, JCB, Linde, VOLVO, S ll and TEREX all use our 5039 lock.


5030 Series

Our door hold backs of the 5030 series are suitable for the heaviest doors.

Especially when the doors are exposed to high vibra on such as in tracked vehicles, this door hold back is characterised by its stability.

This door hold back should preferably be mounted in metal. For the applica on into glass, our door hold back of the 5034 and 5044 series are more suitable.

Many varia ons of this product, and the large number of different release levers, make it ideal for use in heavy hoods or flaps / panels too.

5034 Series

Our door hold back of the 5034 series is the most copied product in this sector worldwide but only DLP manufactures the original in all its varia ons. Similar to our external fi ngs, we dis nguish your par cular applica on because we have clearly defined door hold backs for metal and glass installa on. The opening of the system is through the door hold back bu on or addi onal release levers depending upon the chosen variant. Installa on of this product is very easy via three screws for the metal type or a hexagonal nut for the glass variant. We also have many varia ons of closing bolts with rubber buffer to exactly fit your applica on.

This product is best used in small to medium sized metal or glass doors.

5044 Series

Our door hold back of the 5044 series is based on a consistent development of recent years based on the 5034 series.

The door hold back and the closing bolt do not have to be installed in a defined posi on to each other, but can be rotated 360 ° without affec ng the func on.

The opening of the system is made by a touch of a bu on on either side, i.e. door hold back and closing bolt can unlock the system.

Of course, we meet all specifica ons of today with this new product. In addi on, this system is splash‐proof and dust protected to IP54.

This product is best used in small to medium sized metal or glass doors.

EXTERNAL FITTINGS

The DLP fi ngs program offers more. Thanks to our vast experience with customer applica ons and system solu ons you can choose from a wide range of products that meet both design and technology needs.

All fi ngs follow prac cal criteria such as stress loads, life span, opera onal areas like glass or metal, water spray and dust protec on, design, func onality, flexibility and easy handling. DLP external fi ngs are designed to complement your individual concepts and meet your demands for longevity. For example, external plas c fi ngs are colour resistant, despite the ozone level, because we use only the highest quality plas cs.

DLP external fi ngs also offer the ability to use a „one key system“ on your machine. As we design cylinders for igni on switch lock manufacturers, we can best react to your requirements regarding key numbers. Our remote control system can provide addi onal security.

Par cularly with fork‐li trucks and construc on machines it is o en important that elements do not stand out or protrude. Some of our handle varia ons meet this demand and addi onally can keep dust and water out of the cabin. We have many varia ons to meet your individual cabin concepts. Highly func onal—our gas injec on capability enables us to offer even more contemporary and automo ve style solu ons.

Our window fastener is a product designed and developed for front or side windows. By pressing the control lever, the retrac on bar is withdrawn. This window fastener is very compact and can be used within the windshield area without impairing the view. With this type of fastener, no addi onal locking washer or bolt needs to be used because a recess or hole is sufficient for the locking.

The more complex the locking system, the greater the possible required accessory list. Moun ng plates / gas spring adap on

Our moun ng plates made from die‐cast zinc can be used for the assembly of our round tubular locks 5201 to another tube or as a gas spring adapter for easy moun ng of your gas spring on our round tube or your own. They are characterised by enormous stability.

Our plas c covers are an excellent conclusion for your door assembly. We offer standard covers for many locks. We have some varia ons in the program that meet the various technical and op cal condi ons of modern cabin concepts including those for our 5200 and 5201 double rotor latches. You can choose freely.

Remote release for 25 mm and 32 mm round pipes

In our program we offer release actuators for 25 mm and 32 mm round tubes. There are varia ons that can either be screwed or clipped into place with the possibility for adjustment. These products can be equipped with Bowden wire or connec ng rod. The colour design is also flexible.

Remote release

We offer remote releases in different varia ons and shapes. Primarily, our remote releases are integrated into cabin interiors to unlock our door hold backs if a direct release to the lock is not possible due to the design of the vehicle.

Connec ng rods, wire ropes and Bowden cables

More and more applica ons require solu ons which combine complex configura ons. Our most common connec on rods are used with our standard 5201 series locks. If the connec ons are not straight we use a coated wire rope.

As the connec ons become more complex we usually offer our connec on rods with aluminium sleeve (for more stability) or our Bowden cables to definitely get into the most angled corner. If your needs require it, we offer stainless steel rods from solid material upon request.

Interior release handles

There are interior door handle parts (also called „St. Nicholas shoe“) in various forms. All varia ons have one thing in common, they are func onal and cost‐effec ve.

Different internal diameters for various lever thicknesses and different lengths or colours can be combined with our locks or interior releases depending on the individual requirement.

Interior release mechanisms

Our interior release mechanisms are frequently used in the areas where an ergonomic opening of the door from the inside has highest priority. We offer a wide variety of solu ons which can be integrated into your door panel. In conjunc on with our Bowden cables or connec ng rods, we will look for the best combina on to ensure that all func ons are correct. Even if your applica on has extreme loads, we can offer a solu on, for example with our 41.5043.1701.

Lock drive / Lock actuator

Our locks of the 5035 series were developed par cularly for flaps / panels of harvesters in order to comply with the standard ISO/TS 28923. Naturally you can use our locks of the 5200 series with these applica ons, too. For these locks we developed special a achments to meet the requirements of the standard. If you require a fully integrated version with lock we have already developed our variant 61.5200.0150. More will surely follow.

Key‐ and cylinder systems

The great advantage of our high self‐manufacturing depth is definitely our wide range of keys and cylinder systems. You can select the locking freely because you can be sure that we already manufacture the necessary standard product. Almost all locking op ons are possible in our end products. We only use the best highest quality materials in the manufacture of our keys and cylinders. Our keys are proven by their longevity, torsion rigidity and weather resistance. With the possible integra on of your logo into the key head you get high individuality even to the smallest detail on your vehicle. Our new key and cylinder system, as well as the enlargement of the mechanical locking systems through our remote control or the keyless‐entry system, allows you to step into the age of future security systems.

Integra on of the new key and cylinder system by clip in func on

Our new key and cylinder system combines shape, func on and feeling at the highest level and is characterised in par cular by the fact that it can be integrated into almost all DLP products by simply clipping in. In addi on we can incorporate addi onal func ons into the key by integra ng a passive crypt transponder, which goes beyond the mechanical safety or currently technically secure level such as an immobilizer for example. The key is made of high‐quality materials and milled in Qua rocode procedure. That means that our new locking system, corresponds absolutely to the same level as that of automo ve systems and, because of a very high range of key number varia on (> 1.000) we can guarantee a high level of security. Of course we can style the key to your individual requirements and integrate your logo into the key head. The cylinder also meets the highest demands, such as a spray water and dust protec on classifica on according to IP 54.

5040 Series—bell cranks / deflector

Our bell cranks/deflectors of the 5040 series are for use in glass doors. The external handle can operate

a remotely mounted latch with a bell crank/deflector by changing the push bu on ac on into that of a

pulling ac on. This allows the customer to posi on the handle where they wish without securing the

external handle directly behind the lock.

5041 Series— bell cranks / deflectors

Our bell cranks/deflectors of the 5041 series are for use in metal doors. The external handle can

operate a remotely mounted latch with a bell crank/deflector by changing the push bu on ac on into

that of a pulling ac on. This allows the customer to posi on the handle where they wish without

securing the external handle directly behind the lock.

Rubber Gaskets

A rubber gaskets primary func on is to seal the handle installa on but it can also be an aesthe cally

pleasing addi on to a mounted handle. We have the appropriate gasket in the program for almost every

applica on, but constantly extend our range to meet customer requests including special varia ons that

improve the fit of a handle to glass that has a radius. Please contact us and we can help find a solu on to

your handle sealing requirements.


Product labelling

Product labelling tags are marking our new key and cylinder systems. The item number and key code

can be specified on the labelling which includes bar coding. This enables manufacturers to keep a trace

for the machine and provide end customer support, again following automo ve prac ces.

Steel spacers

We have a series of spacers available in different sizes. Our spacers are designed to work with our rubber

gaskets when moun ng our handles to glass doors. These spacers prevent damage to the glass if

too much torque is applied when moun ng the handle to the door. The rubber gaskets prevent the

metal components from coming into contact with the glass and seal the door handle installa on.

Locking tabs

Our range of locking tabs is very large. Depending on the final product, we have over 100 different tabs

in our program that connect the push bu on handle, the flat handle or the fastener with the lock and

guarantee a flawless func onality.

Remote control with central locking system.

For several years now we have delivered our locking systems with remote control to various customers within their vehicle development stage. For example, our double rotor locks can be obtained with contact switches, which maintain a locked capability in conjunc on with the remote control. Furthermore, the system is designed with a mechanical emergency unlocking facility should there be a power failure.

Our systems are suitable for central locking and can be supplied in 12 V or 24 V.

Our standard remote control is delivered with a hand transmi er which has a transmi ng range of approximately 20 meters. A much higher range can be guaranteed on a flat surface without distrac ng elements. Of course more func ons (light signals etc.) can be adapted at full integra on of our system within your vehicle electronics (BUS system).

From 2010 we can also supply a fully integrated immobiliser system by integra ng a passive crypt transponder into the key and the supply of the reading unit and the immobiliser. With these addi onal features we go far beyond the safety possibili es of a purely mechanical locking system.

Our fuel filler caps can be equipped with or without ven la on and with or without locking cylinders.

Almost all DLP locking cylinder varia ons can be integrated with a simple reten on system. We can supply

various diameters, but the 60mm diameter is currently our standard product. We can also provide the

necessary accessories for our fuel caps.

Our igni on starter switches complete our program for the “one key system” for your vehicle. Almost all

DLP key numbers can be integrated with our igni on switches and this gives you the opportunity to

obtain a complete vehicle locking system using a single key.

4490 and 4566 series ‐ grab handles

We can offer grab handles that have a fixed or varying length using common components that are very strong and durable. Our grab handle of the 4566 series has a fixed moun ng of 150 mm and is price com‐pe ve. The 4490 series is available in almost any length depending on your requirement.


Recessed handles

We have added recessed handles to our program and are generally used for service panels. If your

par cular applica on does not need a complex external fi ng, and a flat surface is preferred, a

recessed handle may be a good solu on. We offer our recessed handles series 4479 in either plas c or

die‐cast zinc.

Holding mechanism

Our holding mechanism was developed as an exclusive product for a major fork‐li truck manufacturer.

It serves to securely lock a hose in place during maintenance work. This mechanism is a good

example of related product developments for our customers, which can lead to final product

HISTORICAL PRODUCTS

Since 1860 our company has been in the development, produc on and selling of locking products: Our roots and our history are important to us and therefore we s ll manufacture some of our products from many decades ago.

Of course our history has made us to what we are today:

A lock manufacturer for 150 years with convic on and passion!

Over the years, D. La Porte has manufactured and sold many products. Most of these parts have been produced since 1950, and are s ll in our product range today.

On the following pages you will see the historical locking products which we s ll offer in our current product por olio.

In addi on we produce some products that are not directly associated with today’s standard product programs, and therefore have incorporated them into our historical range.

It not only includes locks but also related products provided on special request.

These include hinges or clamping elements made of die‐cast zinc for high quality washing machines, clamping elements for shelf systems, furniture locks and normal building doors.

If you cannot find a product that meets your needs within our standard range, we will work with you to design the ideal solu on.

met. This special catch system allows the opening of only one drawer at a me in a mul ‐drawer tool

for a par cular manufacturer and can be offered in different lengths ranging from 300 mm to 1380 mm.

4234 series (sliding door lock)

Our 4234 series of locks are suitable for sliding doors and are available with or without internal cover. The locks are unlocked by engaging the square hole with one of our L‐handles or T‐handles or the internal handle from the 4318 series. When used in conjunc on with our strikers and moun ng plate 41.4136.0101 & 41.4136.0201 you have a complete system for your sliding door.

4485 series (quarter turn catch)

Our quarter turn catch is used for light hoods and/or service flaps / panels in a forkli for example. By a

90° turn the catch is closed or opened in the opposite direc on. This product works well in the

so‐called compression catch applica on. We manufacture this product from die‐cast zinc and

usually coat it with a black chromate finish (Fe/Zn 8F).

Roller shu er locks

Our roller shu er locks are locked and unlocked by the central cylinder. The rota on of the cylinder by

the key moves the clamping plates on either sides of the lock and therefore the applica on unlocks the

striking plates. This system is most o en used in roller shu ers on special trucks.

4900 series (double rotor lock)

This was the first double rotor latch lock on the market. The lock principle was developed at the end of the 70’s. Our 5200 series latch is the more modern version but using the original design principles that make it the best latch within the industry and, surely one of the most successful products in our company’s history.
