Prescription Exchange Service
MediSecure’s core business is a prescription exchange service (PES), which collects electronic prescriptions from every major clinical software system used by GPs and Specialists. Every time a clinician writes a prescription with a MediSecure Barcode, it is stored in our secure ScriptVault until downloaded by the dispensing pharmacist. MediSecure’s e-prescriptions give healthcare providers and patients the certainty of clinical integrity and data security. Electronic prescriptions minimise errors in the prescribing and dispensing of medicines.
Standards Conformance
Australian Technical Specifications, ATS4888.x, are the impor-tant industry standards that define the electronic prescription message content, format and security and specify the process for creation, encryption, storage, retrieval and transmission.
MediSecure is the only PES that conforms to ATS4888.x and is listed the eHealth Register of Conformity to produce confor-mant PCEHR Prescription records and PCEHR Dispense Records.
Real Time Prescription MonitoringPrescription medicine misuse is a significant barrier to the quality use of medicines and is becoming an epidemic in Australia. Each year hundreds die as a result and thousands live with the harsh reality of addiction. In Victoria in 2014, more people died as a result of prescription medicine overdose, than on our roads. MediSecure wants to prevent further overdose deaths and has developed a solution to help prescribers to do this.
Medicines Records myMediSecure is a comprehensive electronic medicines management tool that links patients to their various health-care professionals through a range of technology touch points.
myMediSecure brings important patient prescription and dispense information together through MediSecure’s standards compliant platform. Information is made accessible to patients and their chosen health professionals through a secure patient controlled portal.
Medicines RecordsmyMediSecure places the patient at the centre of their care regime and gives them the ability to manage their treatment. Patients using myMediSecure can select to share their data with their healthcare providers. They are in control.
