Cutaholeinthecenterofeachcircle,about inchindiameter.Threadatapestryneedlewithalength
ofyarndoubled.Holdingbothcirclestogether,insert
needlethroughcenterhole,overtheoutsideedge,andthroughcenteragain(Figure1)untilentirecircle
iscoveredandcenterholeisfilled(threadmore
lengthofyarnasneeded).
Withsharpscissors,cutyarnbetweenthetwocircles
allaroundthecircumference(Figure2).
Usingtwo12-inchstrandsofyarn,slipyarnbetween
circlesandoverlapyarnendstwoorthreetimes(Figure3)topreventknotfromslipping,pulltightly
andtieintoafirmknot.

closingorstrap.Thenumberoflengthsandweight
oftheyarndeterminesthethicknessofthecord.
Toformthecord,holdthenumberofstrandsofyarnindicatedtogethermatchingtheends.Attachone
endtoadoorknoborhook.Twisttheotherendin
onedirectionuntilthelengthistightlytwistedand
beginstokink.
Sometimesthelengthsarefoldedinhalfbefore
twisting.Inthiscasethelooseendsareattached
tothedoorknobandapencilisslippedintothe
foldedloopattheotherend.Turnthepencilto
twistthecord.
Oncethecordistightlytwisted,continuetohold
thetwistedendwhilefoldingtheyarninthemiddle.
Removetheendfromtheknoborhook,andmatch
thetwoends;thenreleasethemallowingthecord
totwistonitself.
Trimthecordendstothedesiredlengthand
knoteachend.Ifthecordiswoventhrougheyelets,
itmaybenecessarytotieasecondknotintheendtopreventitfromslippingbackthroughthe
eyeletopening.
Knitting With Beads
Threadingbeadsontoyarnisthemostcommonway
toknitwithbeads.
Step 1: Beforebeginningtoknit,threadthebeads
ontoyourskeinofyarnusingabeadthreader.Asyouwork,unwindasmallquantityofyarn,eachtime
slidingthebeadstowardstheballuntilneeded.
Passtheyarnthroughtheloopofthethreaderand
pickupbeadswiththeworkingendoftheneedle
(Figure4).
Step 2:Slidethebeadsovertheloopandonto
theyarn(Figure5).
