Supplies: ● Loops & Threads
Radiant® (3.5 oz / 100 g; 26.4 yds / 24 m) #4 Sapphire – 1 ball
● Knitting needles: US-7 (4.5 mm) Or size needed to obtain gauge.
● Notions: Large-eye yarn needle
Finished Measurements:52 in (132 cm) long by 3 in (7.5 cm) wide.
Gauge:8 sts = 3 in (7.5 cm) in Garter stitch (knit every row).
Gauge is not important to this project.
Stitches Used: ● Garter stitch
Special terms/Techniques to be taught: ● Radiant is a net yarn that consists of a netted piece
topped by a row of “eyelets”. To work with Radiant®, only knit with the thread above the eyelets. The net area under the eyelets will form soft ruffles when knit.
● To knit: Insert needle into each eyelet and pull only top thread through stitch – do not try to pull complete strand of yarn through. Finished piece will be ruffled on both sides.
Knit Radiant® Ruffled Scarf
Instructions:Working along eyelet edge of yarn, cast on 6 stitches by inserting needle into each eyelet from front to back. Work in garter stitch (knit every row) using only the top thread until 1 yard of yarn remains. Bind off.
Finishing:Weave in ends. If you have difficulty weaving in ends, you may secure them by sewing them down with a sewing needle and matching sewing thread.© Michaels 2013
