Join us as we explore and learn about the Earth, Sun and Moon through fun, age appropriate acvies that will help everyone understand more about our own planet and outer space. Tuesday-Friday, June 20—23 10:00 AM - 12:00 noon Nature Nuts 6 openings At Mosquito Hill, we’re nuts about nature: furry animals, colorful flowers, ny criers in the soil and wacky wonders in the water. Come and explore with us and you can be a nature nut too! Tuesday-Friday, June 27—30 10:00 AM - 12:00 noon Nature Rangers Nature Quest 8 openings Nature Quest is a week-long acvity series that uses nature as the game board. This environmental learning game can take many forms depending on the number of players, their imagi- naons and the natural surroundings. Come play in nature with us and learn about all of its treasures and powers that are waing to be discovered. Tuesday—Friday, July 11—14 10:00 AM—2:00 PM Skins, Skulls & Scat FULL There is so much we can learn about animals by looking at different parts of their bodies and the signs they leave be- hind. Let’s invesgate local animals and where they live, what they eat, how they get around and other fascinang facts. Tuesday—Friday, July 18—21 10:00 AM—2:00 PM Eco-Explorers The Great Outdoors FULL We will learn how to create a primive shelter, set up a basic tent, build a safe campfire and cook our lunch on it, plan a backpacking trip with proper gear and even take a few big hikes of our own on the property. Let’s get into the great outdoors! Tuesday—Friday, July 25—28 10:00 AM—2:00 PM Ways of Wildlife 6 openings Animals are remarkable. Birds migrate thousands of miles, wood frogs can freeze in Winter without being harmed, and bees beat their wings 190 mes per second! This week we’ll learn amazing facts about wildlife at Mosquito Hill and take me to look for these criers in their own habitat. Tuesday—Friday, August 1—4 10:00 AM—2:00 PM Did you know: children currently spend half as much me outdoors as they did 20 years ago? Research from the Children and Nature Network shows that children who play outside are more physically acve, more creave in their play, less aggressive, and exhibit beer concentraon. www.childrenandnature.org

Summer Ecology Program

Mosquito Hill Nature Center invites you to register for this year’s Summer Ecology classes. Two sessions are scheduled for each of three

age groups:

Knee-High Naturalists

(4 and 5 year olds)

Nature Rangers

(1st & 2nd grades)

Eco-Explorers

(3rd, 4th & 5th grades)

All programs are held Tuesday-Friday. Knee-High Naturalists meet from 10:00 AM - 12:00 noon each day. Nature Rangers and Eco-Explorers attend from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM and must bring a bag lunch. Light snacks and juice are provided for all classes.

The Summer Ecology Program provides fun and educational experiences in the outdoors. Through explorations, crafts, games, and inter-pretive nature walks, children gain knowledge and appreciation of the natural world and a

greater sense of self confidence.
