What is AVID?AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination

“AVID’s mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students

for college readiness and success in a global society.”

Because an AVID student is in a program that requires a multitude of

resources from the school and district, we expect a multitude of diligence,

effort, time and academic success from our AVID students.

What is AVID?AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination

• It is a college-preparatory program designed to prepare students performing in the academic middle who have the potential to succeed in rigorous courses, but may be underachieving in level-classes.

•AVID students must be enrolled in at least one pre-AP class. (PreAP Math is required)

• It is for students who want to take Advanced Placement or Dual-Credit classes in high school.

• It is for students who have the desire and determination to do their best in school and become leaders!

• It is for students who want to attend a four-year college or university.
