Hi Gai,

I sti ll haven't had any contact from either the Minister's office or the Director- General's office. The matter is very urgent and the executive team and I are wi lling to drive to Brisbane to have the meeting now.

I have heard that the minister may be campa igning starting with Toowoomba, is this another possible alternat ive.

There wil l be un-employed people and a large company closing down in Toowoomba if this goes on for any longer.

I appreciate al l you r efforts in trying to organise appointment, but am very anxious that noth ing has eventuated. I feel that the min ister has a responsibility for employment in Queensland- namely our staff.

I look forward to your response .

Thanks for the rapid response to my initial email, our situation has escalated to one w here our understanding is that the current office is championing jobs as part of your campaign and of course regional support,

There has already been a severe affect where jobs have been lost and it seems that from our view the

current government office is directly concerned for any further impact.

When do you believe we will get an appointment set with the Minist er?

There are many jobs in Toowoomba that are at risk! One of the most highly affected regional areas after

Rockhampton 1s current unemployment increase as well as the recent Clive Palmer employment disast er.

With that sa id do you think that the Director General is a better approach for us? Please respond as soon

as possible, we are unsure if the 150 jobs will be around, without a sense of urgency on the matter I

suggest.

I hope you are having a good day!! I am writing to you to request an urgent meeting with the The Honourable Mark Bailey, MP. Geiger Group is an electrical & civil contractor based in Toowoomba, Queensland, we employ 150 staff and the majority of our revenue comes from one major client- Ergon Energy. In recent months we have experienced significant reductions in work volume as well as margin from Ergon and it now looks like work will be completely

dried up within the next four weeks. Obviously the ramifications of this would be devastating to our company, our dedicated staff, suppliers and the community ofToowoomba and other areas that we operate in. Our depots in Townsville, Hervey Bay, Yeppoon, Rockhampton and Toowoomba will also be forced to close. At this point in time we aren't in a position to absorb redundancy costs, creditor costs etc which is of upmost concern to us bearing in mind the effect this will have on our staff, their families and the direct knock-on effect in the community.

We would like to discuss what the intentions of the current Ergon directives are and if the re is any government assistance available to help us re-structure our business in order to support this new direction. I look forward to your response.
