The Indian higher education has undergone massive changes in post-independence era. It has
experienced unprecedented expansion in terms of area and enrollment since 1991, but issues like
access, equity and quality remain the matter of core concern over the years. Rani Channamma
University, Belagavi (RCUB) of is one the evidences of expansion and the growth of enrollment
in this part of the country, it was established in 2010 by upgrading formerly known KRCPG
Center of KUD. Keeping in view the objectives of UGC, RCUB could introduce 4 different areas
of research centers under its province. And we are the pioneers to initiate Research Centre for
Ph.D. in Commerce and allied areas of RCUB, on 25th
August 2012 with 5 Research Guides and

The Research Center of RCUB in GCC is well equipped with modern research recourses like a
separate cubical with internet, printer, intercom, subscription to e-books, e-research journals and
e-articles through N-list, and supported by a common library having 73000 actual volumes.
The research environment is created by publishing annual Research Journal ‘Prashastya’ with
ISNN 2349-6487 in association with Research Center. The very objective of the research journal
is to build a strong research culture in and around the campus by publishing the articles written
by UG and PG students, the Research Scholars, the Staff, and the Guides.
Further, GCC has launched independent Faculty Development Research Center (FDRC) in 2006,
whose objectives, functions; impact and influence match with RCUB Research Center in the
campus. The FDRC and RCUB co-ordinate with each other in creating a sense of Research and
Development in this part of the country. Both function through Internal Research Committee
constituted by the head of institution.
