New motorcycles today are expensive and one way of extending their longevity is by doing the proper initial set-up. While you may want to ride that new machine as soon as you roll it off the showroom floor, it would be better for the long term health of your vehicle to spend the first weekend in the garage doing some pre-ride mainte nance. Due to production line time constraints and costs, most new vehicles are severely lacking the proper lubrication necessary for long vehicle life. A simple tub of Bel-Ray Waterproof Grease will save you from failure down the road. - 22/24, Oparau 3 day adventure trail ride over Easter, starts and finishes at Oparau, which is a small settlement inland from Kawhia on N Islands West Coast. Ride will be lead by Sean Clarke with Mathew and Nigel Scott. Day 1: To Moerangi Range and down the Whannga Coast for lunch. Then to Mt Kariori, to overnight stop at Te Mata. Day 2: Onto the Moka Moka track then head south. Lunch on Kawhia Highway overlooking Kawhia Harbour. Then to John and Fiona Scott’s woolshed for dinner and overnight stop. Day 3: Final day. We almost reach the Waitomo township, then head back to Oparau. Well maintained Enduro or MX bikes welcome, minimum fuel range of 60kms required. New

tyres at start are also required. Road reg will not be required as ride totally off road. High country farmland, native bush tracks and open easy country. Cover 150kms each day. Need rea-sonable fitness and skill. Will be some harder sections for those who choose to do them. Price: Option 1: $1250 per rider. Motel at Raglan on first night. Motel at Kawhia after day 2’s riding. All food from lunch on Day 1 to BBQ dinner on Day 3. All fuel supplied after first tank. Option 2: $1050 per rider.
