Core Curriculum Courses: Occupations of Adults & Seniors (occupational therapy
practice in physical disabilities) I, II & III (including Community Practice Labs –
Healthy Seniors), Capstone process and completion I, II, & III, Health Policy,
Leadership, and Management in Occupational Therapy, Conditions in Occupational
Therapy (developed the first online course in the occupational therapy curriculum, and
have been teaching the online course every summer since 2012).
Special Topic Courses: Evidence-based Fall Prevention Program, Lo and Hi-Technology
Interventions, Interprofessional Communication in Health Professions (developed and
taught the first interprofessional course using high fidelity standardized patients in
simulated hospital environment, and Health Care in Costa Rica.
New courses introduced to the curriculum: Occupational Therapy Fundamental Skills
(conceptualized and developed the course to use standardized patients for teaching and
assessing fundamental occupational therapy skills in students. Supervised adjunct faculty
in teaching this course since 2014), Occupations of Adults & Seniors III (launched in
Spring 2017).
