Getting Started: The Showroom Visit

The Home Visit

The next stop is your home! Your designer will arrange a day and time to visit your home to assess the current

space and start envisioning your dream kitchen.

The Project Scope

During this appointment, we will take an accurate measurement of the entire room to gauge how much space we can utilize in creating your new design.

The Design ConceptYour design team will create a floor plan and

renderings of the kitchen of your dreams based on your actual room dimensions and

personalized wish list, so you can fall in love with the design before you buy it.

Space PlanningWe supply a full set of design and construction plans for your project – this includes the floor plan, elevations and perspectives – so that you can see the full scope of your remodeling project.

This also allows us to provide our installation crew with the clearest and most

accurate instructions to minimize confusion that can lead to costly errors. Our goal is to get it right the first time!

The Design Contract

So, you love the design we’ve created for you, and you’ve decided that you are ready to hire us. We’ve simplified the legal process by using an NKBA (National Kitchen & Bath Association) industry standard design contract.

At this time, we ask for a 50% down payment as a retainer. This serves as a financial handshake and will immediately initiate the order of your cabinets and set the wheels of your project in motion!

Week 1: PreparationAs we make room for the new, we

must carefully remove the old. Sometimes, this involves more than

just removing the old cabinetry. In this space, we took out a wall and

swapped the locations of the exterior door and window.

Before we even begin the cabinet installation process, the hard wood floors are installed. But, you won’t see them until the end because we are extremely careful to protect them from any incidental construction damage!

Week 2: Framing

The old entry door was small and impeded on the

kitchen area, while the window was awkward and

poorly positioned.

In order to make the switch, we reframed the

wall with the proper reinforcement to support

the weight of the new fittings.

Weeks 3: Reconstruction

After framing in the new window and door, we must reconstruct the walls by repairing the drywall. At this time, we also work on rewiring the electrical fixtures and move any plumbing lines that need to be adjusted.

Because we removed a wall, we also have to patch up the gaps that were

created in the process, but in the end, it will be so seamless, you would never

know the wall was even missing!

Week 4: Cabinetry Installation

Here’s where the excitement begins! Everything is now in place for us to start to build the cabinetry layout.

We start by setting the base cabinets in place and making sure they are level.

Week 4 (cont’d): Cabinetry Installation

Once the base cabinets are set, we can start to hang the wall cabinets in place.

Depending on the size of the kitchen, the cabinets typically take up to a week to fully install.
