II. Benefits a. Basically Eliminates Load / Unload Time from cycle. Greatly Improves Production per Hour per Machine b. Dramatically Increased Production per Hour

i. In cases where one lathe is calculated to be marginal to satisfy production per hour requirements or where two or more lathes are calculated to be necessary to meet production per hour requirements, this is where this lathe shines. Depending upon machining cycle, machine number can be drastically reduced. Ex. In one case with a short machining time of less than 20 seconds, one of these lathes was able to do the same production per hour as FIVE normal single spindle lathes.

c. Flexibility Same as Traditional Lathes Relating to Changing Workpiece Types i. Normal type tooling & turrets. Same procedures for changing workpiece types as on traditional lathes.

ii. Normal type chucks or expanding arbors installed on A2-6 Spindle noses. Same procedures for changing workpiece types as on traditional lathes.

d. Greatly Reduced Material Handling Methods & Requirements i. Since on machine can do the same work as several traditional machines, material handling is greatly

simplified. ii. Floorspace is minimized as one machine can do the same work as several traditional lathes.

e. Workpiece Operations Planning i. All Four Spindles can be set-up to do one single process. All four the same.

ii. Spindles One & Two can be set-up to do two operations with part reversal and perhaps even different kinds of chucking as well as Spindles Three & Four doing the same. Example, O.D. chuck spindle One with I.D. mandrel spindle Two. Spindle Three & Four the same. Part can be reversed between Spindles One & Two and between Spindles Three & Four. This would be for a workpiece requiring I.D. & O.D. distinct turning operations.

iii. Even Complex parts with up to FOUR Distinct Turning Operations can be processed with one process on each spindle. Can Mount Distinctive type Chucks on Each Spindle.

iv. Machine can be entirely manually loaded and unloaded by operator if so desired. v. Many different types of automation options are available from us for these machines from relatively

simple loaders to complex multi-operation systems.
