Kiosk Overview Background:

There has been an increase in kiosks by companies looking at ways of distributing fixed

price, volume items, where the interface to an attendant is not necessary and is

expensive and unproductive. This interest has been accelerated by companies wishing to

reduce labour costs in what is a routine transaction. The introduction of domestic ticketing

kiosks by Air New Zealand has been an example of a well promoted and successful use

of kiosks.

For a Cinema kiosks provide the following benefits :-

• Kiosk’s can be used to promote special offers, driving additional sales of food and

beverage.

• Digital ticketing kiosk’s can interact with Vista ticketing software and Quest Eftpos

systems

• Kiosks can be used to dispense prepaid tickets purchased via the internet

• Kiosks can be used to purchase tickets without waiting in queues.

• Kiosks can be used to promote feature films by attaching posters and screens to the

kiosk.

• Kiosks can be skinned to your own eye catching design.





Technical Description

The eSignz Ticketing Kiosk has

been developed to provide the

following features.

• Ticket Printer – Thermal,

80mm wide paper, high

capacity, high reliability

• Barcode Scanner – pointing

down, accurate scanning,

wide angle

• Bracket for Keycorp K23

Pin Pad (EFTPOS)

• Brochure Holder (optional)





The basic Kiosk will be provided with a standard Intel Pentium 4, 3.0GHz, 512MB Ram,

80GB Hard Disk as well as a 19” SAW (Surface Acoustic Wave) touch screen. An internal

amplifier with volume control allows high quality sound for the kiosk applications or when

playing movie trailers.

The kiosk is designed for easy access whilst maintaining security. All the panels on the rear

and sides of the kiosk open for simple access for servicing and paper changes.

Kiosk Dimensions

Ticket Printer

The ticket printer has been selected to meet all the criteria.

We have selected the Custom Engineering Italy printer

model VKP-80II. This printer is a very high speed 80mm

thermal OEM printer designed specifically for kiosks.

The printer has very good reliability at 350,000 hours mean

time between failure, a cutter life of 1 million cuts and a

head life of 100KM of paper (approx 800,000 tickets).





The printer emulation is the standard Epson ESC/POS which will work with the Vista

software. Vista has written a specific driver for this printer that monitors the dispensing of

tickets. If multiple tickets or vouchers are printed subsequent tickets are only printed upon

removal of the previous ticket. This avoids either long tickets that need to be ripped or

jamming of the presenter when multiple tickets are printed.

In addition it has a built in cutter, and presenter (retractor and

ejector) for the tickets and with a print speed of around

200mm/sec the tickets will print in around 0.7sec.

One key feature of the printer is the ability to feed the paper

from below and the ability to take a 150mm roll of paper. The

number of tickets on a 150mm roll is approximately 1500

compared with a standard roll at 500 tickets. Very simple

loading of the paper is achieved by presenting the beginning of

the new roll into the rear slot. The printer then grabs the paper, feeds it through the

mechanism, and cuts the paper off for a clean ticket start. This all results in a significant

reduction in servicing costs.

The only part of the printer visible is a small lighted exit slot that will flash green when the

ticket is available. The interface to the computer is via USB or serial.

Barcode Scanner

The integrated barcode scanner is the Symbol MS4400. This

unit offers omni directional 1D and 2D bar code scanning,

Direct Part Mark (DPM) reading plus will also read QR codes.

These scanners are designed for high speed scanning and

can work in near or even contact with the barcode situations.

The scanner is mounted in a recessed position, inside the

front of the Kiosk, angled downwards for ease of use.





Payment Terminal

We understand that the Vista application will operate

with the Quest PT-11 payment terminal. We will supply a

specific bracket for the PT-11 that will meet the NZ ETSL

requirements The bracket will be made very durable and

will be firmly attached to the kiosk whilst not inhibiting its

operation.

All cables running to the terminal will be completely

covered to prevent interference.

Cable entry for the pin pad will be made under the bracket and the connection can be made

directly to the computer.

The kiosk has already been approved for use on the NZ ETSL network when using a

Keycorp K23 pin pad.

Spares and Support

eSignz will maintain a range of spare parts for the kiosk and will provide on site service via

The Visual Group Support costs will be via either a call out basis or an annual support

contract. We are in the process of finalizing the terms for the support contracts with The

Visual Group. All parts carry a 12month return to base warranty.

Indicative Pricing and Payment Terms

Based on exchange rates as at the 20th April 2009.

Invoices are issued on the following basis and are due within 7 days of issuing:

• 70% on placement of order.

• 30% prior to delivery.

1. All prices quoted are in New Zealand dollars and are exclusive of GST.

2. Quotes are valid for one month.

3. Any courier or delivery costs are additional to the pricing provided.

4. Ecomgroup Limited standard terms of payment are seven (7) days from receipt of invoice.

The order is not deemed accepted until the deposit is received.

5. Ecomgroup Limited reserves the right to charge interest at 2% above its overdraft rate for

invoices outstanding over 30 days.

6. The prices are based on exchange rate of NZ$1 = 0.55 US, and NZ$1= euro 0.4048 any

variation in this rate of more than 5% will alter prices accordingly.

7 We can arrange leasing finance on your behalf if required. subject to lessor credit

approval.

8 The provision of a maintenance contract falls outside this pricing
