Heres an excerpt from the ADRA Newsletter:Rohdas story took a moment to sink in. But then it struck me when

have I ever had to walk 10km for a glass of water?... Yet here is Rohda,

walking for water three times a day an incredible and exhausting

60kms just so her family can survive. How can I complain?

As I looked into Rohdas eyes, her pain was so very evident, but she was

unbelievable dignified. She hasnt seen her husband in more than a

year and a half. He does send her money each month about 500

Kenyan shillings, or $5. This incomprehensibly small amount of moneymust pay for the 10 childrens school fees, medical supplies, clothing,

    food and water. Literally, everything.

When I have no money left, said Rohda, I offer to carry peoples

jerry cans up and down the hill from the bore hole. It is very hard work,

but I dont think about the heat, sun or the heavy container the only

thing I think about is I must feed my family. For one 20km round trip,Rohda is paid 5 shillings (5 cent)on a good day, I will get 15 shillings

    (15 cents).
