The minimal text on the poster is quite apparent to somebody viewing the poster. It is convenient to an audience as they don’t have to spend a lot of time reading text to find out what the poster is about and what its advertising. Instead, it will only take the audience seconds to know what the poster is about. Because of this, more people will be willing to read and look at the advertisement as it won’t take up a lot of their time. The larger text at the top of the page allows the audience to straight away know who the poster is for and makes them come familiar with the band advertised. However, the lack of imagery makes it harder for an audience to connect with the band, meaning they may be more intrigued to buy the album to understand the band and what they are about as the poster doesn’t give much away. The lack of imagery on the poser gives it quite a unique feel as many magazine advertisements either have an image of the artist themselves or a conceptual image that gives quite a lot away about the music within the album.

Although the imager is quite blurred and fairly faded, it looks as though it is of a beach and the lighting suggests that it may be a sunrise or sunset. The leaves look as though they are palm tree leaves, again suggesting that the image is taken on a beach. This suggests that the music within the album may be quite calm and chilled out. It could also suggest that the album is about finding light, as it seems as if the image has been taken from underneath the tree, in the shade and dark. This may suggest that the album is in the dark and shade, looking over the light.

The unique font that is used on the poster again displays a unique feel towards the album. The way that the font is sans serif may create quite a harsh and sharp tone to the text. Also, the way that the text is all in capital letters gives the impression that somebody is shouting to the audience to try and get their attention and interest. This contrasts with the calm and soft imagery behind the text and suggests that the posters way of getting the audience’s attention is through the text rather than the imagery.

The way that the poster advertises the bands website and ‘Play.com’ gives the poster a modern feel as it implies that the album is available to be ordered/downloaded off the internet. Also, the way that the band is advertising a website (www.kingsofleon.com) again gives the poster a modern feel and makes it easier for the audience to access information about the band.
