Student Assistance
Each year we have children who advise the school
that they will not be able to attend the stage major
excursion. The school has a small pool of Student
Assistance funds available for those families that may
be experiencing financial difficulties. We would not
like to see a child miss out for this reason. If you feel
your child may benefit from this assistance please
contact the school to make an appointment to see the
principal. Any discussion will be totally confidential.
Stage 3 Public Speaking
Stage 3 Public Speaking will be held on Wednesday
1st August at 2pm. All parents are welcome to attend.
It is a wonderful opportunity for our Stage 3 children
to show their competent Public Speaking skills to us.
They will deliver a prepared speech and then an
impromptu address for 1 minute.

KSPS Under 10 Boys
The King Street Under 10 boys went down to Hunter
Stadium Newcastle on Wednesday 18th July, to play
Caves Beach Public School. We got to go and visit
the dressing rooms and shed where the Knights train
and play. The game starting at a fast pace with both
teams determined to take the trophy home and
become Hunter Champions. With tries to Joel
Croucher, Cody Rowe and Harry Whitehead, the
teams played well. We gave it all and tried our
hardest. The tries were converted by Liam Harris,
Cooper Maytom. With the hooter sounding it was full
time, and a draw so we had to go into extra time, with
our heads held high we kept Caves Beach from
scoring, but we just couldn’t put any points on the
board. So with no score after extra time, Caves Beach
were awarded as the winner, as they scored the first
try, but from all the boys we would like to thank Mr
Beh for this countless emails and paper work, Mrs
Maher for her great cheering and accompanying us
down, Dean Rose our super coach, John Woods our
FAO Officer, and our water boys/men Glen Maytom
and Damian Whitehead. We thank you, as this team
would never have been so successful without all the
dedication you all put in.
Josh Shade & Lleyton Rose
THANKYOU
On behalf of all the students involved in the King
Street Soccer team we would like to thank Singleton
Strikers Michael Akrill and Singleton Storms Hayley
Frazer for all the hard work and time they have put in
to make both our boys and girls soccer teams such a
success.

KSPS GIRLS SOCCER
On Monday 23rd
July, the girl’s soccer team
played Rutherford in the PSSA Primary Schools
knockout. All the girls played a great game
coming out winners 2-1. To Mr Stacy and Ms
Hulyer we would like to thank you for giving up
your time at recess for us.
Mikayla Matthews and Calista Griffiths
KSPS BOYS SOCCER
On Monday the 23rd
July, our Boy’s soccer team
played a great game of soccer against Rutherford
Public School. The whistle sounded and the game
began, it was wet and muddy but that made us more
determine and Rutherford scored the first goal but
Ethan hit back with a brilliant goal. The score was
all tied up at half time. We ate some oranges and red
frog at half time. The whistle sounded for the second
half, we started well with Mitch kicking the ball into
the net. Then Lachlan got the ball from across the
field and smashed the ball into the goal. Mitch then
got a dot shot, and with all the team cheering him on
he kicked the ball like beckham, what a goal King
Street celebrated with the final whistle blowing.
Special thanks to coach Simon Kelly and Mrs Hovey
for all the effort they have put into our team, and to
all our parents for cheering us on and supporting us.
Lachlan Fry & Mitch Kelly
