Reading: How to Stay Afloat

▪ SWIMMIES: Does your child know all their letters and sounds?

Swimmies: Know Your Letter & Sounds

▪ Distinguish letter form - the difference between b, p, q, d, g/g, a/a,

▪ Vowel sounds (long/short) - vowel teams (team), bossy/magic ‘e’ (cake)

▪ Sound Fluency: beginning, middle, end sounds▪ Blending (putting together) to read, “rollercoaster”▪ Segmenting (pulling apart) sounds, “stretch it out”
