Hello,

I’m Daphne the Helicopter. It’s my job to fly around the skies and watch for

where the police may be needed.The job of police is to do their best to keep us all safe

and teach us what we can do to stay safe.

Learning about what police do is a great way to learn how they might be able to help you, your family and your friends.

I hope you have fun with the activities in this book – do them by yourself or join up with a friend and make it a team effort.

Remember, if you are ever out and need help, be sure to look for a police officer.

• The person answering the phone will ask you where you are so that they can send someone to help you as quickly as possible. It is important that you are able to tell them your address if you are at home or do your best to describe where you are if it is somewhere else.

• It is very important to ONLY call Triple Zero (000) in an emergency.

• Talk with a grown up about what an emergency is and when you should call police, fire or ambulance.
