  • Traditional vs. Flipped Classrooms Traditional Classroom Before class, students may or may not read over the textbook. During class, students listen to professors lecture and take notes. After class, students attempt to do homework on their own. Flipped Classroom Before class, students work on interactive online learning modules. During class, students practice applying concepts and get feedback. After class, students extend understanding and move to more complex tasks.

  • Misconceptions of Flipped Learning I have to flip 100% of my class for this to work. I have to create all brand new materials from scratch. The flipped model works the same way in all disciplines. In a flipped classroom, pedagogy serves technology. If I flip my class, Ill never be able to lecture again. I learned this way, so my students can too.
