2 Product Description2.1 FunctionThe rehab buggy is intended solely for transporting children with walking disabilities or who are unable to walk.The rehab buggy has been approved for transporting only one child aged 1 to 10 years (depending on the size andweight of the child). It is operated by an attendant (conveyance by another person).The rehab buggy can be used indoors and outdoors. It is fully adjustable to provide an optimised, individual fitting.

Hazards when boarding

into a car).

Hazards while driving

WARNINGDanger from pushing too fastUser may fall or tip over► The steering casters may begin to wobble at higher speeds and lead to an abrupt stop, causing the rehab

buggy to tip over at the front.► Therefore, push the rehab buggy only at normal walking speed or engage the steering lock (see section

"Use"). It is not permissible to let go of the pushbar while pushing the buggy or to thrust it away from you.

WARNINGImpermissible useRisk of user tipping, rolling over► Using a rehab buggy beyond normal conditions may be dangerous.► Please note that this product is not suitable for jogging, running, skating, etc.► Do not exceed the maximum load capacity (see section "Technical Data").

CAUTIONUnsupervised parkingFalling, the user may fall out► Never leave the user unattended, even if the seat belts are fastened and the wheel locks are engaged.

CAUTIONIncorrect centre of gravityRisk of user tipping, rolling over► When reaching for objects, the user must not lean too far out of the seat.► Put the seat tilt into neutral position (0-5°) before negotiating slopes and obstacles on slopes or ramps. ► Always provide support to the rear when negotiating slopes and obstacles on slopes or ramps.► Do not move the product with a negative seat angle setting (seat tilted forward).► Never park the product on slopes with the user in the seat.

CAUTIONHanging heavy bags on the buggy may change the centre of gravityUser may tip or roll over► Do not hang heavy bags or the like on the pushbar.

CAUTIONRisky operationThe user may fall or tip over, and may cause accidents with other traffic participants► Push slowly when crossing obstacles (e.g. steps, curbs) and negotiating uphill or downhill slopes and

inclines.► Never cross obstacles at an angle. Always approach obstacles head on (at an angle of 90°).► Raise the front wheels before crossing obstacles.► Avoid collisions with obstacles and dropping off curbs/ledges.► Avoid driving cross-country.

Hazards when overcoming obstacles

4 Delivery4.1 Scope of DeliveryThe product is delivered pre-assembled, with the rear wheels and seating unit removed, and packed in a crate. The scope of delivery includes:• Outdoor mobility base, folded• Multifunctional seating unit (standard option) or an alternative seating system• Additional options as ordered (already assembled)• Instructions for Use (User)

4.2 Standard EquipmentThe standard equipment includes:• Foldable outdoor mobility base • Multifunctional seating unit (standard option) or an alternative seating system• Padding• Adjustable footrest• Removable rear wheels• "Swiveling" front wheels with integrated swivel lock or "fixed" front wheels• Height-adjustable push bar• Wheel lock

4.3 OptionsThe basic equipment may have been adapted to the needs of the user by adding options. For the use of theseoptions, please see section "Use".

4.4 StorageStore the product in dry condition. Maintain an ambient temperature of -10°C to +40 °C.

Note regarding the tyres• Tires contain chemical substances that can react with other chemical substances (such as cleaning agents,

acids, etc.).• Direct exposure to sunlight or UV radiation causes the tyres to age more quickly. As a result, the tread surface

hardens and corner pieces break out of the tread.• Avoid unnecessary parking outdoors. The tyres should be replaced every 2 years regardless of wear and tear.

5 Preparation for Use5.1 Assembly

CAUTIONExposed pinch pointsRisk of crushing or pinching the fingers► Do not reach into the folding mechanism when folding/unfolding.

CAUTIONImproper assemblyRisk of the user falling or tipping over► After each assembly, verify the proper fit of the removable wheels. The quick-release axles must be firmly

locked in the wheel attachment.► Before using the product, the folding mechanism must be firmly locked in place.► When attaching the seating unit, make sure it clicks audibly onto the mobility base.► Secure the seating unit using the seat lock.

The following steps must be taken to make the rehab buggy ready for use:

Attaching the rear wheels 1) If wheel locks are engaged: disengage wheel locks.


Delivery

2) Depress the locks on the wheels (see Fig. 4, item 1).3) Push the rear wheels onto the axle until the lock clicks into place audibly.

Attaching the front wheels (only possible for the fixed front wheels)1) Depress the locks on the wheels (see Fig. 5, item 1).2) Push the front wheels onto the axle until the lock clicks into place audibly.

Unfolding the rehab buggy (when the seating unit is detached)1) Unfold the push bar (see Fig. 6, item 1). To unfold the push bar: see Page 21.2) Fold out the rehab buggy by pulling the push bar (see Fig. 6, item 2; see Fig. 7). → The release handles of the folding mechanism click into place automatically after folding out (see Fig. 6, item

3).

Attaching the seat (multifunctional seating unit)

CAUTIONNon-activated tilt-limiting mechanismRisk of the user falling out► Note that prior to rotating the seating unit, the tilt-limiting mechanism must be adjusted, because otherwise

the seat's tilt angle will not be limited.

INFORMATIONThe product can also be equipped with alternative seating systems. In this case, please observe the information inthe separate instructions for use for the seating system.

1) Place the seat on the rear tube of the seat adapter at an angle of approximately 45° (see Fig. 13).2) Press the front edge of the seat onto the mobility base until the gripper jaw audibly snaps on to the front tube of

the seat adapter (see Fig. 9).3) Slide the seat lock to the left to engage it (see Fig. 10).4) Check that the seat and the mobility base are securely connected. You can do this, for example, by pulling

back the backrest.

In the interest of user safety, the following inspection must be conducted prior to use:1) Verify firm seating of the rear wheel.2) Verify firm locking of the seat and back angle adjustment mechanism.3) Verify the functionality of all belt buckles on the safety belts and/or positioning aids.

6.2 Multifunctional Seating Unit (Standard Seat)INFORMATION

The product can also be equipped with alternative seating systems. In this case, please observe the information inthe separate instructions for use for the seating system.

6.2.1 Removing and mounting the seating unit

CAUTIONIncorrect mounting of the seating unitSeat can become loose and cause the user to fall out► When attaching the seating unit, make sure it clicks audibly onto the mobility base.► Secure the seating unit using the seat lock.

To facilitate transportation of the rehab buggy in a passenger vehicle or to divide the weight into two units for lifting, the seating unit can be easily detached from and reattached to the outdoor mobility base.

Detaching the seating unit1) Slide the seat lock to the right to open it (see Fig. 11).2) Stand next to the seating unit and hold the seat by the top of the backrest with one hand.3) Pull the release lever located under the seat up to the edge of the seat (see Fig. 12).

→ The clutch will now release the seat adapter.4) Tip the seat back at an angle of approx. 45° and then lift it up (see Fig. 8).

Rotating and mounting the seating unitIf the seat is rotated before mounting, the tilt-limiting mechanism then has to be adjusted for safety reasons. Seethe section "Assembly: Mounting the seating unit" and the two sections that follow.

6.2.2 Rotating the seating unit

CAUTIONNon-activated tilt-limiting mechanismRisk of the user falling out► Note that prior to rotating the seating unit, the tilt-limiting mechanism must be adjusted, because otherwise

the seat's tilt angle will not be limited.

The seating unit can be mounted onto the mobility base in two directions (facing forward or backward) (seeFig. 14, see Fig. 15).To remount the seating unit after rotating it 180°, the tilt limit must be adjusted (see the following section).

6.2.3 Adjusting the tilt-limiting mechanism after rotating the seatThe seat adapter is equipped with an additional standard safety feature in the form of a tilt-limiting mechanism (seeFig. 16). This feature ensures that the seat angle of the seating unit cannot be adjusted forward or backward beyond the permissible limits.The tilt-limiting mechanism must be adjusted as follows every time the seating unit is rotated:1) Activate the seat tilt feature (see Fig. 20) and move the seating unit forward until it reaches the stop.

→ The seat is now tilted forward approx. 10%.2) Remove the seating unit (see Page 16).

→ The seat adapter is now freely accessible.3) Pull the key ring (see Fig. 16/see Fig. 17, item 1) to release the locking pin.

4) Move the limit hook (see Fig. 16/see Fig. 17, item 2) into the desired position depending on the direction inwhich the seating unit was installed:→ Limit hook down (see Fig. 16): mount seat facing forward.→ Limit hook up (see Fig. 17): mount seat facing backward.

5) Make sure that the locking pin clicks fully/audibly into place after adjustment. 6) Mount the seating unit (see Page 16). 7) Check that the tilt-limiting mechanism is functioning:

→ For this purpose, activate the seat tilt feature (see Fig. 20) and move the seating unit forward/back.→ The adjustment range of the seating unit must not exceed approx. 10° to the front and 35° to the rear. If this

is not the case, the limit hook (see Fig. 16/see Fig. 17, item 2) is not in the correct position and must beadjusted accordingly (see steps 2–6).

6.2.4 Adjusting the backrest angle

CAUTIONChange in centre of gravity following back angle adjustmentThe user may fall out► After each modification of the back angle, check the tilt stability. To do so, hold the product with both hands

by the push handle.

The backrest can be adjusted as needed in a range from 90° to 180°:1) Twist the lower knob counterclockwise to release the back angle adjustment (see Fig. 107).2) Move the backrest forward/backward to the desired position. The maximum position is lying flat (see Fig. 19)

INFORMATION: Please note that in the maximum position (lying flat), the footrest must be adjusted sothat the user's feet can comfortably reach it.

3) Turn the knob clockwise to fixate the back angle.

6.2.5 Adjusting the seat angle

CAUTIONIncorrect use of the seat tilt featureUser may tip over or fall out► Before operating the seat tilt feature (seat angle adjustment), practise without the seated user at first.► Always engage the brake before operating the seat tilt feature (changing the seat angle).► When adjusting the seat tilt feature, secure the user from falling out to the front or rear (e.g., by holding the

3) Release the knob.→ The adjustment mechanism will lock automatically.

6.8.1.2 "Swiveling" Front Wheels with Integrated Swivel LockThe rehab buggy can be equipped with swiveling front wheels to make steering easier. If needed, the casterwheels can be locked with the integrated swivel lock. This function increases directional stability on unevenground.

Activating the caster swivel lock1) Pull the caster swivel lock casing forwards (see Fig. 34).2) Push the rehab buggy forwards until the caster wheels click audibly into the lock casings.

Deactivate the caster swivel lock1) Push the caster swivel lock casing towards the seat (see Fig. 34).2) The caster wheels are now released again.

6.8.2 Tip-AssistThe tip-assist (see Fig. 35) makes it easier for an attendant to tip up the rehab buggy, e.g. to cross a step or curb.

Tipping the product1) At an obstacle, place one foot on the tip-assist and push down (see Fig. 36).2) Slightly tip the rehab buggy by simultaneously pressing down on the push bar.

The product can be equipped with different types of safety belts.The option has been installed and preset by qualified personnel. If the option has been adjusted too tightly or cannot be engaged, the safety belt can be subsequently adjusted.

6.8.6.1 Lap beltThe rehab buggy can be equipped with a lap belt. It provides additional support for the pelvis and keeps the userfrom sliding out of the seat (see Fig. 41).

Adjusting the belt1) Pull the belt out of the belt restraint (see Fig. 42, item 1).2) Close the belt buckle firmly (see Fig. 42, item 2) and pull the belt in the desired direction.

Make sure that the belt extends at least 2 cm beyond the buckle so that the belt restraint can be pushed overthe loose end.

3) Thread the belt back into the belt restraint (see Fig. 42, item 1).

Using the belt1) To open the belt buckle, press the “Push” button (see Fig. 41, item 1).2) Sit the user into the seat.3) To close the belt, slide the metal tab into the buckle until you hear it click.

The respiration platform is for attaching respiration equipment. 6.8.16 Cup HolderThe cup holder (see Fig. 88) is for holding a drinking bottle within reach of the user or the attendant. It can beplaced as required on the push bar, on the folding tube or on the grab rail.

Installing the cup holder1) Only when the tube is vertical: secure the self-adhesive hook-and-loop straps in the desired position and at

the correct distance apart. These secure the cup holder when the bottle is full.2) Secure the cup holder with the hook-and-loop straps in the desired position.

6.8.17 Footrest PaddingThe padding (see Fig. 90) is intended for users who, for example, cannot wear shoes. It also inhibits loud steppingnoises on the footrest.The option has been attached to the footrest by qualified personnel. For cleaning it can be pulled off the hook-and-loop straps attached to the footrest.

6.8.18 Anti-Slip UpholsteryThe anti-slip upholstery (see Fig. 91) on the surface of the footrest makes it more difficult for the feet to slip on thefootrest.The option has been attached to the footrest by qualified personnel.

6.8.19 Incontinence CoverThe incontinence cover (see Fig. 92) protects the padding of the multifunctional seating unit.The incontinence cover can be removed for washing. Close the hook-and-loop straps before washing.

Attaching the incontinence cover1) Remove the seat padding and the back padding from the seating unit (see Page 49).2) Lay out the incontinence cover ready for the seat and back padding. To do this, open all the hook-and-loop

straps (see Fig. 93).3) Place the seat padding in the incontinence cover.4) Secure the incontinence cover to the back padding:

→ Place the back padding on the incontinence cover (see Fig. 94). → Guide the lower 3 hook-and-loop straps around the back padding and strap them together (see Fig. 95,

item 1).→ Thread the vertical hook-and-loop straps through the back padding (see Fig. 95, item 2).

5) Secure the back padding to the seating unit:→ Pull the back padding with its cap over the back insert and close the zip.→ Guide the vertical hook-and-loop straps towards the rear over or through the back plate (see Fig. 96,

item 1).→ Guide the upper horizontal hook-and-loop strap around the back plate and strap it together (see Fig. 96,

item 2). In doing so, the vertical hook-and-loop straps must be secured with the horizontal hook-and-loopstrap (see Fig. 96, item 3).

6) Push the back padding towards the rear and secure it to the back of the seating unit with the twist lock.

Removing and cleaning the incontinence cover1) Remove the seat padding and the back padding from the seating unit (see Page 49).2) Remove the incontinence cover from the seat padding and lay it down.3) Remove the incontinence cover from the back padding. To do this, open all the hook-and-loop straps and

remove the incontinence cover from the back padding.4) Wash the incontinence cover according to the washing symbols on the label with care instructions.

The rehab buggy must be prepared for transport in a car:• Folded version with attached seating unit (standard seat): see Fig. 97• Space-saving version with detached seating unit (standard seat): see Fig. 981) If needed, unlock and flip up the footrest until it clicks into place (see Page 21).2) If needed, remove the seat (see Page 16).

INFORMATION: If the seat and backrest are facing backwards, the rehab buggy can only be foldedonce the seat has been removed.

3) Pull up the release handles of the folding mechanism (see Fig. 99).4) Fold the push bar over the seat to fold up the rehab buggy (see Fig. 100). 5) If needed, fold up the push bar handle to save space (see Page 21).6) If needed, press down the locks on the rear wheels and pull the wheels outwards (see Fig. 4, item 1).7) Only for versions with fixed front wheels: if needed, press down the locks on the front wheels and pull the

wheels outwards (see Fig. 5, item 1).8) Place the rehab buggy in the boot and use transport locks to secure it from sliding.

second locking pin for securing the seat angle is fitted on the Kimba outdoor mobility base (see the section"Adjusting and Securing the Seat Angle").

6.10.2 Permitted UseThe product may be used for seating in a wheelchair accessible vehicle if a suitable restraint system is used. Thesafety belts and positioning aids offered by the manufacturer only serve to further stabilise the person using theproduct.The following options must be detached from the rehab buggy prior to transport in the wheelchair accessiblevehicle:• Sun canopy• Grab rail• Tray• Diaper bag• Backpack• Buggy board

6.10.3 Required OptionsA belt set is required to secure the rehab buggy for use as a seat in a wheelchair accessible vehicle.• The lashing points are integrated in the base frame:

– Lashing points, front: see Fig. 101, item 1– Lashing points, rear: see Fig. 102, item 1

6.10.4 Adjusting the Seating UnitBefore using the product in a wheelchair accessible vehicle, the seating unit must be adjusted in the driving direction (so the user faces forward in the direction of travel).To remove/rotate and mount the seating unit: see Page 16.

6.10.5 Adjusting and Securing the Seat Angle6.10.5.1 Multifunctional Seating Unit

Activating the Locking MechanismBefore the product can be used in a wheelchair accessible vehicle, the seat angle must be adjusted horizontallyand secured.1) Turn the top knob to the right and adjust the seat bottom so it is horizontal (see Page 19). 2) Pull out the locking pin, rotate it to the left and reinsert it (see Fig. 103, item 1).

→ The locking pin is now engaged (see Fig. 104, item 1).3) Tilt the seat adapter (see Fig. 104, item 2) against the locking pin.

→ The seat adapter must contact the locking pin without play.

6.10.5.2 Mygo Seating System

bottom so it is horizontal (see Page 19).2) Pull out the first locking pin, rotate it to the left and reinsert it (see Fig. 103, item 1).

→ The locking pin is now engaged (see Fig. 104, item 1).3) Tilt the seat adapter (see Fig. 104, item 2) against the locking pin.

→ The seat adapter must contact the locking pin without play.4) For additional stability, pull out the second locking pin on the opposite side, rotate it to the left and reinsert it

(no picture available).

Deactivating the Locking MechanismAfter use in a wheelchair accessible vehicle, the seat angle adjustment must be enabled again.1) Pull out the locking pins on both sides and secure them in the disengaged position by turning them (see

Fig. 105).2) The locking pins are disengaged (see Fig. 106, item 1). The seat angle can now once again be adjusted by

twisting the knob on the upper front part of the frame.

6.10.6 Adjusting and securing the back angle6.10.6.1 Multifunctional Seating Unit

Activating the Locking MechanismBefore using the product in a wheelchair accessible vehicle, the back angle must be locked in the vertical position.1) Turn the bottom rotary knob to the left and adjust the back angle to vertical (see Fig. 18; see Page 18).2) Turn the bottom rotary knob approx. 5 mm further to the left in order to activate the back securing bolt.3) Pull out the back securing bolt and turn it 90° (see Fig. 108). The protruding locking aids on the back securing

bolt (see Fig. 108, item 1) have to engage in the horizontal slotted holes (see Fig. 109, item 1).4) Turn the bottom rotary knob to the right to secure the back angle.

Deactivating the Locking MechanismAfter use in a wheelchair accessible vehicle, the back securing bolt must be deactivated:1) Turn the bottom rotary knob to the left until the back securing bolt is released.2) Pull out the back securing bolt and turn it 90° (see Fig. 108). The protruding locking aids on the back securing

bolt must engage in the vertical slotted holes (see Fig. 109, item 2).3) Turn the bottom rotary knob to the right to secure the back angle without the back securing bolt (see Fig. 18;

see Page 18).

6.10.6.2 Mygo Seating SystemBefore using the product in a wheelchair accessible vehicle, the back angle must be tilted back gently to an angleof approx. 95°.INFORMATION: Please note the information in the separate instructions for use provided for the seatingsystem.

For transportation in a wheelchair accessible vehicle, the rehab buggy must be secured with tie-down straps as follows:1) In the direction of travel, slide the product approximately in the middle between or over the perforated rails

anchored on the bottom of the vehicle and secure it with the wheel lock.2) Check that the belt system in the vehicle matches the lashing points installed on the product.3) Attach the tie-down straps mounted on the bottom of the vehicle to the lashing points on the product (see

Fig. 101; front: item 1, rear: item 2):→ Front: engage the hooks in the lashing points from the inside to the outside (see Fig. 110, item 1).→ Rear: engage the hooks in the lashing points from the inside or the outside (see Fig. 111, item 1).

4) Firmly tighten the tie-down straps in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications. The maximum angle ofthe front tie-down-straps is 45° (see Fig. 112).

5) Fold the push handle down to provide additional stability for the seating system (see Fig. 112, item 1).6) For "swiveling" front wheel option only: turn the caster wheels to face forwards for improved stability (see

Fig. 112).7) Remove all prohibited components from the product (see Page 44).8) Adjust the suspension to "firm" (see Page 22).→ The tie-down straps are correctly attached (see Fig. 112).

6.10.8 Securing the User in the Product

Usage

CAUTIONIncorrect belt settingsUser fear, strangulation due to incorrectly positioned safety belts► The safety belts must be positioned close to the body. They must never be held away from the user's body by

components of the product or other parts.► Firmly tighten the safety belts after they are applied. However, the comfort of the user must be taken into con

sideration:→ Excessively tight adjustment may lead to unnecessary pain or suffering for the user. → Adjusting the belt straps too loosely can cause them to shift up or down so that the user can slide into a posi

tion that is dangerous to him/her.→ The belt straps must not be twisted but must lie flat on the user’s body.► The shoulder belt must run over the user’s shoulder. If this is not possible, the user must not be transported in

this position in a motor vehicle.

For transportation in a wheelchair accessible vehicle, the user must be secured in the rehab buggy with safetybelts as follows:1) Place the user in a nearly upright seated position.2) Attach the lap belt to the anchor points (pins) provided:

→ Pull one end of the lap belt from each side of the seat through to the bottom (see Fig. 113, see Fig. 114).→ Engage the ends of the lap belt on the anchor points (pins) provided (see Fig. 115, item 1).→ INFORMATION: The lap belt must be worn at an angle of 45° to 75° to the horizontal. When this is

not possible in exceptional cases, an angle between 30° and 45° to the horizontal can also bechosen (see Fig. 116).

3) Engage the shoulder belt in the lap belt (see Fig. 117).

6.11 Care6.11.1 Care Instructions• Do not allow sand or other particles to get into the product. They could degrade the wheel bearings and the

locking mechanism.• Use in saltwater is not permitted.

6.11.2 Detaching/Attaching the Padding (Multifunctional Seating Unit)


The padding can be removed for care and maintenance of the product:1) Release the twist lock of the backrest pad behind the seat. 2) Unzip the backrest pad zipper (see Fig. 118) and remove the backrest pad.3) Lift the seat cushion, pull it off the hook-and-loop fastener on the seat plate, (see Fig. 119) and remove. 4) Open the hook-and-loop/fleece fasteners of the lateral/frame/support pads and remove the pads.5) Refasten the padding after carrying out the maintenance work.

6.11.3 Cleaning1) Clean all frame components and plastic parts using mild detergents only.2) Wash covers made of spacer fabric and microfibre at a maximum temperature of 40 °C. To do this, remove the

covers from the padding and wash the covers only.INFORMATION: You can wash covers in the washing machine – but only in a laundry bag or pillowcase. However, wiping with a damp cloth is sufficient in most cases.

Important information on cleaning• Do not use any aggressive cleaners, solvents or hard brushes etc.

6.11.4 Disinfection► Wipe all parts of the product with a disinfectant.

Important information about disinfecting• Water-based disinfectants should be used. Observe the usage information provided by the manufacturer.• Before disinfecting, clean the pads and handles.

7 MaintenanceThe product bears the CE marking. The manufacturer hereby guarantees that this medical device as a whole conforms to the requirements of the European Directive for Medical Devices 93/42/EEC.• The function of the product should be checked before each use.• If defects are found, especially instability of the product or altered driving characteristics as well as problems

with the user's seating position or the stability of the seat, the product should not be used. The specialist dealer must be contacted promptly in order to correct these defects.

• This also applies if loose, worn, bent or damaged components are identified.


Maintenance

• Some maintenance tasks can be carried out to a certain extent by the user at home (see the section "Maintenance Tasks").

• The manufacturer also recommends regular maintenance every 12 months by an authorised dealer.• Failure to maintain the product can lead to serious or life-threatening injury to the user of the product.• Service and repairs may only be carried out by authorised dealers or the manufacturer. This will ensure that

only Ottobock spare parts are used for repairs.

7.2 Maintenance TasksDuring maintenance work, attention must be paid to the following:• The rear wheels and fixed front wheels (standard equipment) are designed to be a quick-release axle system.

To keep this system operational, ensure that no dirt adheres to the quick-release axle or axle housing. Periodically lubricate the quick-release axle very lightly with resin-free sewing machine oil.

• In the case of swiveling front wheel (option), hair and dirt frequently collect between the caster fork and thecaster wheel and make the caster wheels harder to manoeuvre as time goes by. Remove the caster wheel andthoroughly clean the fork and caster wheel using a mild household cleaner.

• If the product gets wet it should be rubbed dry.• Regularly check that the screw connections and rivet joints are secure.

Screw connections should be periodically checked for tightness, especially during the initial period of use orafter making adjustments. If a screw connection loosens repeatedly, contact the specialist dealer promptly.

8 Disposal8.1 Disposal InformationReturn the product to the specialist dealer for disposal.All components of the product must be disposed of properly in accordance with the respective national environmental regulations.

9 Legal Information9.1 Service lifeBased on market observations and the current state of technology, the manufacturer has calculated that theproduct can be used for a period of 4 years, provided that it is used properly and that the service and maintenanceinstructions are observed. Storage times at the dealer or with paying parties are not included in this period. However, we would like to emphasise that the product is reliable far beyond this defined period of time, providedthat it is cared for and maintained properly.If the service life is reached, the user or a responsible attendant should contact the qualified personnel who fittedthe product or the manufacturer's service (see inside or outside of rear cover for address).

9.2 LiabilityThe manufacturer’s warranty applies only if the device has been used under the conditions and for the purposedescribed. The manufacturer recommends that the device be used and maintained according to the instructions foruse.The manufacturer is not responsible for damages caused by components and spare parts not approved by themanufacturer. Repairs must be carried out exclusively by authorised dealers or by the manufacturer.

9.3 CE ConformityThis device meets the requirements of the 93 / 42 / EEC guidelines for medical devices. This device has been classified as a class I device according to the classification criteria outlined in appendix IX of the guidelines. Thedeclaration of conformity was therefore created by the manufacturer with sole responsibility according to appendixVII of the guidelines.
